the question is not whether you believe or not because that doesn't change a thing.

you might as well say you don't believe in gravity. does your belief (or the lack of it) make

gravity suddenly disappear?

msdarkskin,
you must pardon me, my sister. i really didn't mean to be rude
myself but what do you do when you keep supplying your number to your
buddy and apparently (or mysteriously) that same number keeps
getting missing and you have to do this all over again everytime?

sometimes you got to understand the context of a conversation to be
better informed why certain things were said in a particular way...

pdozie,
nice set up there. one thing though: that prag stabilizer belongs on the wall and not
where it is sitting on the table. you can do it. just get some concerete nails and
fix the installation bracket on the wall then hang the stabilizer on it. pronto!

all,
confirmed! seems my panels are gradually getting relieved of the dust issue.

casual monitoring this afternoon shows my combined harvested amps clocking 40!

as the days go by and with the weather becoming clearer i think it can only get better.

and, when the rains finally start pouring down, the remaining crusts of dusts on the panels

would have been washed away and by then i won't be supprised to be back into the 50a+

range! grin

@Yinka4dad,

In case you're still having issues with this decoder of yours please let me know.

odilibe: @George...i couldn't remember the last time i used RF output..from receiver to tv grin grin grin...video quality is good on rf output...better on av output..best on HDMI..then switch to 1080p(i) video resolution tongue

@odilibe,
Indeed, you're right my brother. Nothing can beat the quality of HDMI over other mode of decoder video
reception and I was indeed amazed by the sharpness and depth of the SRT 4940 pictures over its in - to -in
HDMI output. Again, all the pix I posted on the previous page were from HDMI as you can see the difference.

However for those who have TVs scartered across several rooms and who want to enjoy the liberty of watching
channels without having to come to the sitting room all the time, the RF becomes a necessary compromise
against quality of video over distance. Over the same distance, the rate of degradation of HDMI compared
to RF is simply too much for it to be any useful as an acceptable means of conveying video.

MyHiDsDaar: @ george d how much is this modulator and where can one get it

@MyHiDsDaar,
It is 9.5k here but could be less in lagos and other places. Also there may be other
brands that do the same job for lesser price. It all depends on what you want and where
you're buying it.

bodejohn,
congrats! you're doing great. for the month of february, i think i should be crossing into the 4,500ah
range for my set up. i'm yet to do the maths but will soon get down to it. now that i'm using 2 controllers
it becomes more complex to add the harvest together.

p.s: by the way, i think the dust issue seems to be abating as i noticed a significant improvement in my
panels performance this time around compared to the month of january.

i'll keep an eye on the trend.

@All,
Compilation already in progress for the much awaited C- Band tracking list which was part of my COMSTAR renovation
works. And, for all those who think the era of C- band has passed, please wait till after this weekend before jumping
to conclusions! I'll be uploading pix after pix of amazing stations all waiting patiently to be tracked - and a
few HD channels thrown in for good measure too! Now, who says you can't put that masive HD ready screen of yours
into use unless you unscramble big brother?! wink grin

Televes AV to RF Modulator:

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by GeorgeD1(m): 10:07am On Mar 01, 2013
For all those with strong SRT 4940 and other similar decoders without RF output,

you can use an AV to RF modulator like the one below. I got it as part of my COMSTAR dish renovation
works along with the 4940 in the pix.

And for those running away from 4940, I tell you its the best in terms of signal reception. Its tuner
is very sharp and you can never miss a thing. As long as what you desire is clean FTA then please go for it.
However if you're looking at using it for illegalities, I'm sorry you have to look elsewhere. wink
