I no too dey post but..

If you trade Elliott waves then ANZD is in a w5 and this should be a truncation. A failure to bounce off the 38.2 fib expansion upwards means a further decline to 1.01xx

UJ has completed a monthly correction and (c) there is exactly 2.618 of(a). These fibonacci levels should not be toyed with. In the next few months price should make its way to w5. Best advice every dips should be bought and held longer than sell positions on rallies.

Seun:
Forex is a zero sum game, which means that for someone to win, someone else must lose. Even if every "investor" is disciplined and "smart" and following the "best strategies", some people must lose money in order for others to win. Every win is at the expense of someone's loses. And that is before you consider the fees. When you consider the fees, it becomes clear that retail forex is a very dumb business to be in.

Real business is superior in many ways:
1) In real business, whether you succeed or fail, you're providing a useful service to society. In retail FOREX speculation, you're not.
2) If all people who go into a legitimate business are smart, it is possible for all of them to be successful. In FOREX, many people must lose.
3) In FOREX, the winners are the brokers or lucky. In business, the winners are usually those who provide the best value to society.

I feel bad about disrupting the forex communities on Nairaland, but we'll be better off when real business topics start dominating this section.

Sir, my question is why are the likes of George Soros, Warren Buffet etc referred to as business men?

The reasons why the biggest companies in the world are what they are today is because of investors & traders who help shoot up their stocks.

I know this isn't funny but it's just a stark revelation of how foolishly many of us have been hiding behind that worn-out mantra of "only if I had enough capital I'd have made some meaning investments". The truth of the matter is that many of us don't have the slightest idea of what to do with a few thousands naira speak less of a couple of millions. The reason for this I wouldn't know. May be we've just become shallow-minded and idea-bereft by our routine 8am to 4pm commitments.

I am now an advocate of having the investment ideas first even before the capital comes.

Now , here it is. I have 2million naira,but no business or investment ideas. If you've got one, I'd gladly accept for free. But if the plan is solid enough that you feel it shouldn't go for a fee, I'd gladly pay after critical reviews.

Thanks

Hello house... I am searching for a book,seems not to have found it. Anyone has knowledge of a site where I can download books or videos of FIBONACCI and ELLIOT WAVE details or style of trading. I have the normal books that's commonly found,need something different. Don't tell me to use Google because i have been doing that since 2 days and no still positive results yet.
THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE.
Hello shalom123, why did you say not Google? That's where it all is.
Search via Google for Elliott wave Institute (EWI) website , it is owned by the man Robert Pretcher himself. The tutorial there is exactly what you have in his book Elliott waves basics
2. Search for the pdf download of the book Elliott waves principles by Aj Frost & Robert Pretcher
Then look out for anything from EWI, Robert Pretcher etc.
I started learning January this year with various books, but you see these two? Bam! & if you have these & you don't feel like you have found what you are looking for then I don't know what you are looking for.

Nice, I inputed values into my calculator and got projected values for your system on how I would have used it if I was to create your result. It would take exactly 90 months to make a million. Reverse engineering using the formular a*r^n for compounding interest,

estimating 10% (using lover value) monthly returns

a=196 starting balance
r=1.1 as the new month would have a balance or 1-1 times the previous month's balance
n=90 number of months.

a*r^n = 196*1.1^90 = 1,041,352

Also your pip target would be at 100 pips stop loss

2060 pips monthly or 103 pips dailyat .5% risk or
1030 pips monthly or 51.5 pips daily at 1% risk or
515 pips monthly or 25.75 pips daily at 2% risk

90 months 7.5yrs, target (1,136,376) could be reached in 62 months (5yrs + 2months) at 15% montly ROI.

Very feasible! All the best dear. I'll keep watching

Wow! How'd you do that? Sir pls can you put me on any of your groups. My number is 08024664372

Thank you for your response.

Now in reply to what you wrote here. Stop loss is the singular and most important tool in the financial market trading, Yes Your Stop loss POINT note the bolded may not be guaranteed when gaps occur in markets and that's beacause when gaps occurs price points are skipped which may include your specified point, but you can be rest assured that the position will be closed immediately at the next available price point. So please correct the above sentence STOP loss is a guaranty tool to help you protect your portfolio. A non guaranty of your specified point during gaps which are rare is different from non functionality of a tool.

As regards your explanation regarding contemporary trading, and you having some institutional traders as friends, I would kindly suggest you speak with them again and get your facts right, No trader.. I repeat no professional trader would expose his portfolio and invest in an instrument on a particular position without taking into considerations the risks involved, your no stop loss advocacy actually proves how non challant you are regarding portfolios. How can you expose a portfolio into the market without proper risk management strategy in place. I see that you referred to your friends managing a million dollars without using stop loss, but hedging the trades, do you also consider how much they trade with per transaction, do you consider the percentage exposure it is to the total account? Ever heard of what is called JENSEN INDEX , TREYNOR INDEX, VALUE RISK MODEL, or MPT? All these are approaches that are being used in measuring the performance of a portfolio and they all include putting the risk management approach as the most important factor, It's risk to reward ratio and how well the portfolio manager has performed. I will suggest you talk to them again bro. Here you are having a 200$ account hoping to get it to 1 million according to you and without stop loss or any risk management strategy in place. What happens if the market goes against you suddenly? What if the same Gap you spoke about happens, and the trade goes against you say 100 pips can you explain how you intend to manage that? You would hedge the trade, with how much ? The same lot size?What if it just keeps going? Remember this is FX not equity or bonds, the price might not come back to your entry point in the next 3 years or more, What about your broker leverage? Margin call point, Unless you are trading with the DD brokers that offers unreasonable leverages which would help you ruin your account anyway, no NDD STP/ECN brokerage company would ever offer you more than 1:500 and even at that, you cannot survive the market without risk management strategy.NO one can and NO portfolio can, even martingale trading strategy which involves unlimited account balance cannot survive it. Google these thins bro.

You said STOP LOSS is a scam by brokers, hearing this singular sentence from you shows how not so experienced you are in the financial markets( no insult intended), you possibly belong to the class of those that believe that their stop loss points is a target for their brokers or the market. If truly bro you understand that stop loss point are comprehensive analytical points which is supposed to render your current trading perspective null when it hits then you would understand how important STOP LOSS is in financial trading success. It is the only tool that helps you to manage and control your risk and losses in these highly volatile, highly leveraged financial market. No one should invest without putting risk into considerations.

As I said I wish you all the best In Your quest, but I am very sure , this thread would be inactive in a matter of weeks, a month max. But then I hope you prove me wrong.

Just in case you're wondering who I am you can check my profile on forexfactory , including an 8 month live account result with live streaming. http://www.forexfactory.com/oohrhiifx#acct.12. Cos every body calls themselves professional traders these days. Quoting years out of nothing.

How it works is to buy sheep and sell deer....................
Or buy good, quality stocks, and wait for dividend.
Under most market conditions, there're stocks going down and others going up;
people losing money and others making it.
What we're all trying to do here-and many are succeeding-is to be in the later group most times.
Thanks a lot. I really would like to know if there are apps for PC's & mobile that could help investors observe live charts of various stocks. If there are do they have tools for technical analysis? Could investors/traders buy & sell using these softwares after registering with a broker?
I also learnt investors cannot sell down a stock but can only buy. Is this true?
How long would a regular broker take to pay an investor who has profited from his/her investment & wants to cash out?
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by georgesylva(m): 3:40am On Apr 03, 2016
I would really like to trade Nigerian stocks but the more I look the less I see. Damn slow, payment structure and stuff.
Are there manipulations? From some of what I read there might a possibility. Forex seems safer, but stocks should be. Hmm...
If anyone could clarify how it works I would appreciate it.

Lol, grin of course do you guys ever expect the u.s govt to agree? Any news firm detaching itself from this particular news have simply been made to.
The cold truth that some Africans do not get is these whites do not care a single bit about anyone but themselves.
Some would not agree that they create disease in the laboratory, have nuclear weapons which they warn others not to just for their selfish interest.
I would never doubt any bad news I hear about the u.s govt. The man is 78yrs, who shall he fear? Don't you think he is too old to be looking for fame? What is he lying for? What does he stand to gain?
