YORUBA

IGBO. Tell me which other tribe in Nigeria dresses like this to sophisticated events. No, they'd rather dress like Yoruba angels grin

My friend, I am done with this back and forth dance.
I hope you were not expecting me to waste my data on pictures to prove a moot point.
I am sure you have an owambe to attend in the morning as usual . Wouldn't want to get between a Yoruba man and free food.
Get to it, would ya.

Need and desires are two different things. No ibo can resist the beauty of Yoruba attires. wink

I mean, who wants to dress like these scarecrows below?

Talk of delusion, another Yoruba trait . I might as well post pictures of Yorubas wearing Igbo attire.
Sorry, your clothes are not that attractive. The ridiculous cap and the bogus superfluous outfit resembling two or three bedsheets roughly joined together.
I will pass.

I almost believed the bolded. Try again.
Don't need to believe it. That is your problem. It is funny though that you would think I would ever have a need for a Yoruba attire.

are you up to 16yrs, how does wearing other people attire atleast once in a year mean cultural confusion.
Are you high on expired viju milk?
Your are confused, woman.
Wear what you want to wear. That is your prerogative.
Don't pretend to be a defender of the Igbo nation while at it.

Is your tongue split? Today you're pro-biafra, tomorrow you want to discuss one Nigeria.
You sound confused.
Why won't you rock Yoruba attire? Who hasn't? Who wouldn't?
I agree with you. She is claiming to be a pro igbo warrior on nairaland and yet is bragging about wearing a Yoruba attire like a sort of achievement.
Height of confusion.
I am igbo and I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a Yoruba attire. For what na?
When I am not mad or suffering from cultural confusion or inferiority.

Wow.
For a crisis as serious as this, I can't believe all we are getting are reported speeches that are probably not true given the rate at which this government lies and denies.
Is there any government as pathetic as this In this world?
We should be getting televised broadcast and a direct visit of the so called president.
What is exactly is the dumber head president doing at aso rock that is taking his time?
The economy is a complete mess and on a stand still, so what exactly is taking his attention?
I have never seen such failed state ever . How do we get out of this mess of a nation?

Am not Igbo or Yoruba but you have said the bitter truth.. Instead of ipob shouting free KANU, they should gather together and save their land from impending doom.Imagine the Fulani's warned you they were coming and yet they couldn't defend themselves.. Imagine fulani raping ur wife and sisters in ur front and u can't do jack...angry

To my Igbo brothers, stop insulting or antagonizing other tribes...focus and defend yourselves or else you will no longer have a homeland in the east.
Of course, igbos would have to defend their land and forget about anything else in this hell hole.
Unfortunately, tomorrow, people like you will start telling us rubbish about how we should stop hating buhari and vote and support him - whatever that means.
You won't remember when we had to defend and develop our land by ourselves without the President caring a whit.

LOL . . . are you saying some 200-500 Fulani terrorist over-ran the whole of Enugu?

I meant evacuate them from that particular village/town to the nearest safe place . . . the Fulanis resident in Enugu are smarter, fearing backlash, safety first, they've all fled town to the barracks for safety (in the same Enugu).

BTW, if the governor does not have enough security men both official and non official to tackle some less than 500 Fulani herdsmen, then he is a joke -- a big one, he could be over-ran as well an will.
You still did not answer my question.
How is he supposed to evacuate thousands of people at 2am? THE logistics alone is something only the federal can handle. And to do that without the Fulani herdsmen knowing, which is impossible.
Let me even assume that he has some security officers in his pocket - what are they supposed to do against a highly coordinated imter-state militia?
The same militia that have wrecked havoc in a dozen other states and are currently the 4th most dangerous terrorist group in the world.
The governor is incompetent, of course. Your president though is a murderer, either through complicity or incompetence.

You see why scores of people got murdered?

If I were the governor of Enugu state, and I've credible info like he had;

1. Safety first: emergency evacuation of the people at that instant (even if it is at 2AM).

2. Deployment of any arm or number of security forces under my control to aid and assist evacuation to a more secured location.

3. Mobilize all able-bodied men to be prepared to defend themselves along with the few number of security officers I have under my control.

You see why you and I are different?

HOW many security officers are under the control of the governor?
Evacuate thousands of people from their own state because of hundreds of foreign criminal herdsmen at 2am? To where exactly? A state that is supposed to be protected by the police.
Your policy is neither practical or even worthy of a governor who is supposed to be in charge.
There is a difference between pragmatism, realism, Cowardice and false hope.

One question for you: If you are the state governor, and you had just an hour forewarning that some terrorists would be attacking your people, what would you do?
I would call the IG and the military to deploy the police and soldiers there. NOT before writing a strongly worded letter to the president due to the Inter-state nature of the crisis.
Unfortunately, the security agencies and the president have proven to be either complicit or just incompetent. Which is why the governor regardless of how we look at it bears the least blame. He is guilty of naivety and political correctness.
If Fulani herdsmen ever cross Enugu again after this incident, then he should be impeached for gross incompetence.

Shut up and read the story again (even the residents are blaming the police for not protecting them 'cause they knew they were coming)

Why is there a police force (made up of locals with families in the same community) and other military and para military?

Why does the governor collect millions every month for security votes only to share it amongst themselves -- the blood of the dead will judge him and his crocodile tears.

'1 million gang' (a gang of armed robbers), keeps terrorizing a particular part of Lagos, killing, raping, robbing, forcing family members to sleep with each other; Lagosians direct their frustration to their principals-in-charge: the governor and the CP -- not that alone, they formed an armed militia/vigilante waiting for them all night . . . even taking the fight to them . . . hunting members of the group down.

You lot should learn looking at yourselves first before passing the buck.

So much for chest-beating.

Are you kidding me?
A security challenge that crosses States boundaries with a federal conspiracy ring to it is supposed to be solved by the governor?
The federal police who are supposed to protect people are under the control of the President who is either flying off to some foreign lands or keeping mute like a statue on relevant issues the few times he is around.
BTW, what are the governors supposed to do? They are not in control of any security agency as a matter of law for funding.
Even the US where state police is being practiced, a security challenge like this would have seen Obama vilified and bearing the bulk of the blame and him possibly losing political relevance.
I don't care how Lagos zombie crowd decide to respond to this crisis. They can choose to play politics for all i care.
I care about the lives of my people and your buhari is responsible for all the loss of lives and properties that happened in Enugu.

Shame on the IG,CP, DCP, ACP, Governor and the entire NPF.

To those chastising Abuja, if your own people who are part of the police force won't respond to protect you, how would Abuja protect you?

This is the same reason we have all this heartbreaking problems.
Look at this guy omitting the President and commander in chief from the blame of incompetence. The same president that is very quick at slaughtering unarmed protesters.
You have a serious problem.

When was the last time Nigeria got a major foreign investment? Or you think economic growth falls from the sky?

She could do very well for a Biafran nation as its first finance minister or vice president .
Set the finances on stable trajectory, help us avoid the resource curse and attract foreign attention and investments with her huge global profile.
Devoid of the ethnic interests currently present in this country, she could very well be an intellectual, political, and national goldmine for biafra.

Who wants you to stay in Nigeria? Who is stopping Igbos from moving back to their land or investing in Biafra? Nigerians can do without Igbos, but Igbos can't do without Nigeria. 1.
