so sorry about ur issue
some people aren't really human being

i had a similar experience with someone years back dat managed my cassava and maize farm
i was lucky to harvest d maize in multiples but when d period to harvest cassava came, i was surprised to see a clear field with no crop on it.
initially i knew FULANIS do invade farms and i confirmed they invaded a part of my cassava plantation but to my surprise after a month, there was nothing on d farm to harvest..

After thorough investigation, a nearby farmer gave me a hint about d people who stole my farm produce.......

believe me

the younger brother of my farm manager did d whole job and disappeared......

i lost about 450k on the cassava plantation....

i wasn't too worried cos i accepted it as a kind of experience in farm business. Since then, i started managing my farm myself.

Any new investor in Agrobiz should pls acquire his/her land and make sure he/she cultivate whatever he/she can have time to manage...

pls new investor in Agrobiz should pls start small and expand when experience is attained.

GGfadar:
If you are interested in livestock farming on a medium scale level, first thing first,
acquire a land ( 1 hectare )
Erect a room or two room apartment to
accommodate workers and fence at least four
Plots with wire fence ten meters to the
apartment.
The fenced plots is to keep animals in a small shelter after grazing and in case you wish to feed them with concentrates and give them medications when needed.
Another important facility is water supply.
All these are to be considered first before anyone ventures into this biz.
For more info .........

@Ggfadar,

How advisable is it to source from different sources? Can you source it completely so that we make it just a trip?
Then you need to give discount considering self collection

As far as I'm concerned
i don't think its bad to mix if its done accordingly. i mean at d right proportion.....50/

GUDALI BREED

Agriculture / Re: Livestock Farming Biz ----- Cattle, Sheep, Goats And Turkey by GGfadar(m): 1:37pm On Apr 25, 2015
Liadi2:
Pls how much can someone get cattle dat can be rear in north and also d cost of transport down to ibadan or transport per each likewise I want to know price of ram and sheep dat can be rear.
**************************************

The prices of cattle varies due to sizes n breeds
the breed i will advise on is d GUDALI breed. It ranges between 45k - 55k for at least 4 - 5 months old. The breed grows bigger than every other breed in Nigeria and is easily domesticated; i.e not as aggressive as other breed.

Ram that can grow faster n bigger ranges between 12k - 18k or more, depending on sizes too and the female ranges between 10k - 15k also depending on sizes.
I will advise u go for a breed called UDAH commonly has two colours --- black/white or brown/white and at times black/white/brown.

The cattle and ram breed are of breeds with a very rapid growth if well fed and well taken care of.

The prices are not fixed and can b lesser depending on market status. I stopped travelling to some places far north since the spread of terrorists in the north but i have a good and reliable source that brings down the flock i desire to Ibadan. I only travel to some northern parts like Jigawa and Katsina to buy rams i can fatten for Sallah festival. The cost off transportation is already added to the cost of purchase.
