It's only worth it if your nigeria driver's license has been valid for more than 2 years, as that's when it becomes advantageous for you in Ontario. You can also try another driving center outside the GTA with ur frsc extract !

Hi all, I got an extract from the FRSC site only to get to the DriveTest centre and was told they don't accept such letters again and that i need to reach out to https://nigeriahcottawa.ca/drivers-license-letter/

I have been trying to reach the number on that site but keeps going to voicemail cos, it will be so sad to have paid 50k (last year) only to be told I need to pay another Non-refundable fee of CAD$50.00 plus Administrative fee of CAD$50.00 money order payable to the Nigeria High Commission.

Although, I have done my G1 test and would like to confirm if it will be worth the stress (getting this letter from them).

NOTE: I have sent an email since last week, no response yet.

the extract is a record I dont think it expires. Go for the G1( knowledge test), then find a driving instructor for lessons ( check facebook marketplace) before attempting the G test.

thanks a lot.

Submit your extract as fast as you can it expires after 4 months or less. Besides it’s not compulsory to do the test after submitting your extract . They’ll just add your driving history so you’ll be eligible for G test. Else you’ll wait one year before you can even do g2

How can I go about this, pls?
i.e the submission of the extract.

he already has explained why people prefer north york and Scarborough. It’s easily accessible to downtown Toronto and environs via line 1 and line 2 subway. Also consider where you are likely to get jobs ( check indeed) , you can check the cost of rents for the different areas online. Affordability and GTA in these current time too don’t exist. 😅

For driving you can use the 9ja license to 2 or 3 months only

Hi ednut1, I will be 3 months in Canada this month and I already have my extract from FRSC (since last year). If I am to get the G-license, does it matter how long the extract was issued?

I would really appreciate any guidance on how I can get the G-licence, please.

I am in the Ontario province (Markham).

NOTE: I am yet to start driving in Canada.

I provided my personal statement (dom account).
Yes, I am the main sponsor.
I provided my employment letters, though the account I used is not my salary account. I also used the same account to apply for my wife.

Do you have the 51,000 CAD available as liquid in your DOM account?

also, how many years course is your wife going for?

You can check some of my previous post on how i explained how I will be able to take care of my family while I also applied for SOWP.

Although, just a family of 3 dou while Wife is the primary applicant.

NOTE: I did all myself.

Congratulations sir🎉🎊

Please, I don't understand something here.
Do you mean you got your Permanent Residence Permit from Nigeria or your Study Visa only?

Also, I've started my MSc. (Thesis) applications to Uni of Alberta and Saskatchewan. No dependants or something. Only me and my parents will sponsor me.

While all courses I chose is 2 years, can I also start my permanent residency process from Nigeria now or I need to get there first and start after completing the degree?
Do I also need to apply this way for permanent residency or I shouldn't bother about that for now?

Congrats once again sir🎉

Thanks a lot, but I don't seem the understand the question dou.

for Permanent Residency, I believe it is all about getting all the points. If you think getting the education/experience in Canada won't have any impact to your point, then you can start now with the hope of your score meeting up with the expected point that will come out in the next draw.

Not sure this is the best place to ask questions around permanent residency dou.

Thanks once again.

I added my Card to it and when i was done with all, i cancelled subscription.

I have forgotten the number of days they gave to use it for free but with the help of Adobe Pro, I was able to compress a file of 200MB to 3.7MB without loosing quality at all.

Long post alert

Good evening all, so I am here to finally share my application story.

First time applicant that did all (SP, SOWP, VV) by himself with the help of materials/resources gotten from here.

Upfront medicals => 04th Oct, 2023
I used IOM for my upfront medicals. I tried booking an appointment on the site (with available date of 15th Oct, 2023) cos from 15th upward, those are the only dates available. I thank God it did not go through because i had to reach out to them via email and they booked me for 4th of October.

Until I did my upfront medicals, I never took this whole thing serious cos I got admission last year but differed (due to personal reasons).
I created my IRCC account on 10th Oct, 2023.

NOTE: It was after I finished my upfront medicals I got convinced about this new adventure. That was when I started writing my SOP and gathering all the documents. Although, I already got all materials/resources in my notebook (for reference).

I used the old portal (GcKey) cos I know I have a lot of stories to tell and I was sure the new portal won't allow me cos of the file limit.

I finally submitted my application on the 13th of October 2023 (after 3 days sleepless night, just to ensure my SOP is detailed enough).

Before I submitted, I had to make sure I went through all those IMM files like 2 - 3 times and I really thank God i did that, cos I noticed on some of the forms, I did not give full details and co. I had to be double sure I filled all documents before doing the final submission. Thank goodness i went through all the documents again (after uploading, I had to re-upload again) just to be sure I filled everything without leaving anything behind.

After submitting my application, I got a Biometrics request letter. The date available was 30th of October (omo, me that resumption date is 8th January, I wished the date available was earlier).
I finished my Biometrics on the 30th and got PPR on the 31st.

I was really shocked when I woke up to seeing 4 do not reply mails only to see that a decision has been made on the application.

in my mind, i was like [damn it, probably i missed somethings from my application] only to call my wife's attention to it to come double check [abi na my eyes dey see double].

Now, to the documents submitted.

I ensured the document is detailed enough [most especially the field to submitting POF]

Since I am the one to sponsor my wife, this is a page from the document I submitted.

Carefully go through my account statement to see and confirm how ready I am, when it
comes to supporting this special being in my life. You will see a lot of gift from me to this
love of my life (Wifey’s Name).
As proof of my employment and consulting history, find attached: Attached as addendums to
the Letter of Explanation in “Client Information” in the Spouse SOWP field.

2. My letter of employment to company B (pages 4 - 7)

12. My letter of engagement with Company G as a consultant (page 59 - 88)
13. Company G Payslip (3 months) (page 89 - 91)
14. Company G monthly salary received via Company G Mobile application (page 92 - 94)
15. 3 of the invoices were generated for some fintech I worked with (pages 4 - 7)
I. Company G invoice (page 95)
II. Company A invoice i (page 104)
III. Company A invoice (page 105)
16. Proof of Assets (Contract of sale of land) (pages 96 - 103)
17. Proof of Assets payment invoice (pages 106 -107)
18. Medical assessment information sheet as a prerequisite for an extended stay (more
than six months) in Canada. (page 108 - 109)
19. Cowrywise Investment Letter (before liquidation) (page 110)
20. Cowrywise Stash Statement (pages 111 - 112)
21. MBS (page 113)
22. RiseVest account statement (pages 114 - 116)
23. Payoneer account statement (pages 117 - 118)
24. Payoneer letter of good standing (page 119)
25. Tax payment notification (from some of the invoices created) (pages 120 - 121)
26. e-TAX Dashboard with history (page 122)

I made sure the story was really interesting to the reader [making it look more like i am speaking with the person that is going to review my application.

I am the one that did all the payment [application fee, medicals and co].
My Wife's only has 3million in her account but we provided 6 months MBS for her while me as the sponsor have enough that can take us for 2 years even without talking.

Talking about school fees and cost of living for the 3 of us.

Every of the file i uploaded is well detailed, like some of them are going to like 150 pages [na pictures full am with stories].

I used adobe premium application to compress the file to like 3.9MB and it is not blurry at all. The only ones that almost got blurred where the pictures so, i had to reduce the quality of the pictures again before adding to the document to avoid quality loss.

I submitted my passport on 3rd Nov and I got a do not reply mail for decision envelope on 10th Nov.

I sha collected my passport on 13th Nov.

Wow, Congratulations to you and your family, pls I'd like to know how many months statement you submitted and how much you showed as your proof of funds, Thanks

I used 1 year for my UBA MBS
Spouse used 6 months (i think that's the max) for GTB MBS

I told them I have 94k CAD [liquid] as proof of funds just for this programme and I showed other assets in my name.
NOTE: I used N561.686/CAD 1

I also ensured I have more than the available funds stated in the SOP i.e. more than the 94k CAD.

Instead of 10k CAD for primary applicant, i used 14k CAD cos, that's what they stated in the admission letter. The insurance is also from the school, so I used info I got from the school to draft the table

I just even realize say i made a mistake for this table. [lolz]
