Eaugusta:

Resigning from your present position to a lower position won't be a bad idea if:
- it will be accepted in the company
- it will not have a negative effect on your financial statues
- it will finally help achieve your aim

But again, I suggest you first talk to a higher authority, there is no harm in trying

Thank you Eaugusta

There is provision in the official handbook.of the organisation for someone who has worked for over two years to apply for part time studies, and I qualified and have followed due process, but its still a surprise to me that health grounds would be used against me when my doctor has certified me fit.

Enrolling for a part-time Master's degree is not chasing your dream.

Its a criteria towards actualising ones dream

20 years from now, you will be disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did, so throw off the bowlines and sail away from the safe harbor.

If you believe in prayers, pray.

Analyse the worst case scenarios with each line of action you have to make.

Your happiness is in your hands.

Bamz you are too much,God bless, however what some of us don't understand here is that am not leaving the job,but to stoop to a lower cadre that won't make them feel insecure of my position so I could have the chance and its even part time am asking for approval for.Doctor has given me certificate of fitness I see no reason why I should be told because of my health I won't be given approval

BareFacedLies:
OP, I'm sure the reason why you want to go into lecturing is so you can have access to unlimited supply of pĆ¼ssy grin

Not so but to have time for my family, where I work is far away from where my family reside and I have asked for a transfer but was turned down except that I accept a lower position before I would be transfer the present post leave little or no room to even visit my family and spend time with them, and also due to nature of my wife job she cannot come down.

You are not serious fa cheesy

You sent your boss on an errand on a mission that can make you her boss ?

Better start a direct correspondence and follow up from your Hq. Your boss is not obliged to do you any favours in this circumstance.

I didn't send her they had a meeting of her cadre and when she was going she decided to carry it along

Were you pampered by your parents? Nairalanders, someone is toying with his job ooooooo because of masters oooo
You want to resign to a lesser position when you can choose a part-time course. Maybe you have a sponsor or you do not like the job at all.
Probably someone is waiting for your masters to place you somewhere cos the last I recalled, we have more master's graduate and few lecturing jobs.

Just ranting.

Good morning

Yes sir, i followed the due process as stipulated by the handbook.quote author=Florblu post=74664905]

I'm sure your coy have an. handbook or it's equivalent, what does it say about study leave? Did you discuss anything about personal development during the onboarding process?

On what ground was your other colleague granted the study leave? Were they fortunate or they deserve it?[/quote]
Career / Resigning My Position To Pursue My Goal: Advice Needed by Gilaso: 4:17am On Jan 12, 2019
Dear All, recently I wrote a piece https://www.nairaland.com/4951605/female-boss...please-advice-me-please#up about my immediate boss.

However I decided to take the bull by the horn by calling the head office to ask for the approval letter I was expecting for studies since I had applied earlier with my admission letter (masters) and presented a certificate of medical fitness from my recent ill health as requested by the head office.

Surprisingly on calling the head office I got a response that because I recovered recently I will not be granted approval to go for my postgraduate studies even after presenting a certificate of medical fitness as requested with school fees being paid,i tried to explain that i followed due process but the head told me never to talk on the issue again.

Personally I feel I should resign from my present position to a little lower position as to have time to pursue my studies which will eventually lead me to my career dream(lecturing) or should I talk to a higher authority? Please what best advice can I get know, thanks.

Please, avoid him for now you did not send him.if he cares or really interested he will come back for you but adjust yourself don't cry keep hope alive, face your job and your kid,you have a brighter future.Don't be in a haste to accept any man for now,God is your strength, look for a bible believing Church and worship with them with God on your side victory is sure.

Please note that the one year study leave as an option is without pay and won't be enough for a part time masters degree program. Also before one would apply for studies one must have secured an admission letter.
Family / My Female Boss...please Advice Me Please. by Gilaso: 11:29am On Jan 10, 2019
Dear Nairalanders, happy new year to you all once again.I solicit for your kind advice on this issue please.I work with a private firm, and by reason of my level I am qualified to run a school program, having purchased the form and secured an admission at postgraduate level,my female boss told me that she wanted to also enroll but that since I have gone ahead to enrol she will step down for me to continue, that when am thru she will do hers since both of us cannot do it at the same time due to our positions. However she said I should apply formally to the head office which I did,but up till now no approval from the head office, when I called the head office they ask me to get a medical permit to certify my fitness to travel from my base to the school in most weekend since its a part time studies. I collected the medical fitness from my doctor and gave to my female boss to submit at the head office since she was going there. On her return she kept mute until I asked her for the approval but she told me that the head office told her to tell me to either accept a one year of study leave or accept only Fridays and Saturdays for my program this I felt should have been communicated to me in writing as mine has always been official. However other colleagues of my level in other branches have been given full approval. Please I smell an undermine here but I need sincere and mature advice on what to do please. Thanks

Family / She Opened Up Instead Of Me,i Need An Advice Please by Gilaso: 9:44pm On Oct 08, 2018
Good evening all,I had this girl in 2012,and we had dated till date with parental consent, just that I opened up to her lately that I had got a kid with another woman who I had earlier promised to marry. However she told me not to let her parents know that they will deal with me and her if they find out that I never opened up to them on my initial affairs before coming to date and impregnate their daughter. This made me to keep things to myself pending when the right time of her permission comes for me to tell her parents the truth. But unfortunately for me,she travelled home and due to intense suspicion from her parents she opened up to them about me,now I look deceitful to them. But I have made up my mind to go and see them but I don't know how best to go about it,please can someone with good counsel and experience help?I want to make my wrongs right. Thanks
