These are just generic reasons for the denial. I will advise that you order for the GCMS note immediately. With GCMS note, you will be able to know the exact reasons why your visa was refused. Goodluck.

I think we need to be careful with GIC. If you read from the link above, it can be seen that many guys are having problems getting their money back from CIBC even after visa rejection. We need someone to educate us about this.

Thanks

You'd better start calling for funds and not even think about getting a job in that part of Canada to pay your school fees or rent. My friend's wife is in college in London and has been unable to find a job for over 10 months now. The husband has been selling properties in Nigeria to support her, and she complains that many students are in a similar situation!

Thanks very much for your submission!
MarksmanD:
You submitted August 8th. I submitted July 3rd. We have people on this platform who submitted June who are yet to get a decision or an update on their application. Also, IRCC has increased their processing time for Nigeria from 6 weeks to 8 weeks. If we are to use the usual 6 weeks to evaluate your application, you're still a week and 2 days away from panicking. Now that processing time is 8 weeks, you're 3 weeks and 2 days to be anxious about your application. I'll advise you to relax and take your mind off the application. Do some fun activities while you wait. When it's exactly 8 weeks and you haven't gotten an update, you can send a webform. Don't get yourself anxious on what you don't have control over.

Hi,
I quoted @Africankel because you replied that @piscesnow can submit her passport in US. Pls I need contribution from everyone.

I am submitting Student visa here in Nigeria but I need to travel out immediately after that. Whenver High Commision Canada in Lagos requests for my passport for visa stamping, can I send my passport to Nigeria(Canadian Embassy) for visa stamping using Two-way Courier Service? Is there no illegality doing so or any risks?

I will appreciate if other people can contribute to this also.

Thanks

Pls do you have any tips on FSA-4 form. A university requested me to fill the form as part of admission requirements. The main point is that, I am looking for scholarship/tuition waiver.

Don't mind them. Many Nigerians live to work in diaspora. They are strangers to their kids. I will repeat it, if you are doing pretty well in Nigeria and you are not less than 35 yrs, and you are not in tech, and your are not in medical field, stay your ass down and build your empire for your kids to travel to anywhere they want for their studies. Don't sell off your property!

In Youkay, If you get security job, you must throw party for hommies grin. People like us dey Nigeria but we still dey abroad. I got friends and relatives scatter across the world. I will only go abroad to get my own tech money grin

Many of them are close to 40 or above 40, no tech skills, and not in medical fields, the struggle will be real in UK for them. Right now, even in some parts of UK, some nurses are not getting enough shifts. Person go just be living to work menial jobs for years. To survive with minimum wage, you got to do overtime.

Most of that extra jobs are nerve cracking jobs o. Standing for several hours everyday such as toilet cleaning, dishwasher, mid-night newspaper delivery or cleaning up sh.tting old white people asses. In many parts of Europe, people do this job for decades grin. A friend of mine in Germany was talking about cleaning job without any shame. He has msc degree from Nigeria. He has been institutionalized patapata. grin
I respect people engaging in those jobs but me? No way.

Funny thing is that Nairalanders that are experiencing this used to keep quiet here.

Lastly and to reiterate, anyone struggling in Nigeria should leave if they have the means but don't sell your house in gbanjo o grin.

Career / Re: Is Japa Worth It? by Gokoyer0(m): 7:55pm On Jul 28, 2023
I wish I have the time to reply you explicitly but I will try my best this time.

Let's not even talk about Europe because that's total bullcr.p. If you don't have proper documentation in Europe, that's tantamount to disaster. The only place undocumented immigrants can have some breakthrough is USA. How many Nigerians are doing one job(8hrs/day) and earn above 100k USD/yr even in USA? Give the figure if you have it. There is life and work balance.

I still stand by my take. Japa should be for strugglers but not for 3000 USD/month earner in Nigeria. Na Buhari took Nigeria to it's lowest low. People returned to Nigeria in droves during Jonathan era. Let's pray for better Nigeria because there are many diasporans that don't want to be buried in obodo oyinbo.

As I have said, we are engineered differently. There are people that just wants to live a comfortable lives that are free of working like jackie for the rest of their lives. At your bolded, this is not me actually. Also, I have a friend that have everything to Japa but decided to stay put because he used to visit his relatives in North America when he was doing his PhD(FG sponsorship) and saw the way they are living with complaints about finances. My friend's wife is even a nurse. He told me that he is not relocating anywhere. No one in his neighborhood knows that he used to go abroad for holiday. He always go to the airport with his luggages whenever he wants to catch flight. So, not everyone has those oppression mentality pls. Dont generalized Nigerians. There are good people in Nigeria.

What about Japarians that return to Nigeria and start oppressing from the airport? Are they not part of the society?

If you can be able to reach 20 yrs old before leaving Nigeria, we are all in this together. At some point, many of you will miss home. And if you don't miss home, that's good for you.

Bye bye.

IbeOkehie:

Truth is most Nigerians like to be rich in an environment where there's lots of poor & desperate people, whereas Anglo-Saxons tend to be expansive in their definition of the good life.

What the anti-Japa team is trying to say is that with $3K per month they can inflict a copious dose of physical & psychological sadism on other humans with whom they interact in Nigeria. That's the typical Nigerian mindset, they love to INFLICT suffering on others and watch the results. Why else is Nigeria in perpetual crisis?

Good Luck to Nigerians!

That was serious. Anyway, those guys are smart dudes and well trained.

TenaciousOrphan:
My Visa Interview Transcripts (Caveat Long Read) Sorry for posting it now, I wanted to see how my visa looks like first. Accept my apology.

I started applying to schools since 2019 but I promised myself that I won’t go to the embassy until I get full funding. I have been making application mistakes since that time until I discovered what I was doing wrong. So I applied in 2019, 2021 but was not successful. In 2022 applications I applied to 11 Schools and got 5 Fully Funded PhD Admissions.
My Interview Profile and Transcripts is below:
NB: This white VO on earpiece was denying plenty people, so I was always pretending to use the toilet. 3 times I left the queue but was still sent back by the CGI official.
Profile:
School: Florida State University
Program: PhD in Sociology
Funding: Fully Funded ($52, 211)
Interview Location: Lagos
Interview Date: July 7th 2023.
Interviewed by: The dreaded VO on earpiece.
First Time.
Status: Visa Approved
VO: He signal me to come forward.
Me: Good Morning but he didn’t respond.
VO: Where do you work and what do you currently do?
Me: I work at xyz University as a Research and Administrative Assistant and my duties includes…VO cuts in
VO: Are you married?
Me: Yes, with a son.
VO: Why are you applying alone without your family?
Me: My wife is currently busy at her work place and her annual leave was not granted.
VO: So are you saying you will be staying in the US for 5 to 6years without your family? It is better you guys go together for this period of your study, are you processing hers already? -set up question 1.
Me: My wife wanted to accompany me to settle down and return to resume her work but her annual leave was not approved…..because she’s currently very busy in her place of work.
VO: So you mean they will never come to the US throughout your program?
Me: She will visit when she is free at her work place. She also needs to develop her career too as I am doing mine. I will also be visiting when I have the time.
VO. Since you are going for a PhD, will it not make sense to get a job in the US after your graduation? Because you will earn more money in the US and so many universities will be looking for your service. - set up question 2.
Me: That will not be possible because I am signing a bond with my University in Nigeria and if I disappoint on that bond, they will report me to all the universities in Nigeria and the school I am attending in the US. And this will seriously affect my career. So even though it would have been better it’s not possible.
VO: Where do you work again and what do you do?
Me: I work as a Research and Administrative Assistant at XYZ university. At this point he checked my Linked profile and search google to confirm. I saw his computer reflection in his glass window.
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: 11 schools and 5 gave me fully funded PhD admissions
VO: I will be approving your visa.
Me: Thank you and I did not hear any other thing he said. I just left the hall very fast. Though I later came back because the applicant before me mistakenly packed my documents.

I left the embassy after giving out some free Will gifts to the few beggars I saw on the way. When I got to my hotel I started playing a song by Edna Ogholi titled: ‘Okeoghene Omai woma’ in my language; which when translated means “God time is the best” and shared tears of joy.
Thanks a million to those who have contributed to my success in this Journey. Especially Mr
Firebreeze (a candle loses nothing by lighting another), Fairheart, Faith-my sister that got her Visa at the 11th time of asking amongst others. I am honored.
