Education / How To Buy Your 2020 August/september WAEC PIN On Remita by goldenoyin: 3:19pm On Jun 20, 2020
The West African Examination Council has announced that prospective private candidates of its West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) – Second Series (Aug/Sept WAEC GCE) across Nigeria can now conveniently purchase their registration PINs on Remita’s website, www.remita.net, and pay through any of the multiple channels available including their debit card, internet banking, USSD and mobile wallet.

This statement was made recently as the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) formally announced the commencement of the sale of WASSCE registration PINs, from June 10 to July 31, 2020.

To enjoy this service, intending candidates are to visit the Remita website, select “Buy WAEC PIN”, fill all required fields and choose their preferred payment channel. They can also pay at agent locations and bank branches where they would present their Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).

Once payment is completed, the exam registration PIN is delivered to the candidate’s email and also displayed on the Remita payment receipt sent to the same email. The candidate is then expected to proceed to WAEC’s website to complete registration with the obtained PIN.

“We have consistently provided easy and flexible payment solutions for our customers in all strata of the economy. Prospective candidates of the August/September WAEC Examination for Private Candidates can begin and complete payments on their internet-enabled computers or mobile phones using the Remita webpage with multiple payment options that would help them complete their registration in good time,” said David Okeme, Divisional Head, Applications and Vertical Markets, of SystemSpecs, providers of Remita.

Remita is a leading payment platform in Nigeria that helps individuals and businesses to easily send and receive funds and also settle various bills.

The WASSCE for Private Candidates 2020 – Second Series examination will be urban-based and conducted at a period to be announced in due course. Thirty-Six subjects will be available for the examination.

The West African Examinations Council is an examination board established to conduct the examinations and to award certificates comparable to those of equivalent examining authorities internationally.

Celebrities / Tee A, A Man of Many Firsts, The Gentleman Of Nigerian Comedy! by goldenoyin: 7:45pm On Sep 27, 2012
Described by ThisDay Newspaper as the gentleman of Nigerian comedy, Tunde Adewale, popularly known as Tee A, says he’s “just a vessel used by God.” Island Explorer Magazine meets one of Nigeria’s finest comics.

Tee A is a man of many firsts, not least among them being the first Nigerian comedian to ever sell out a one-man stand-up show. Live ‘n Naked sold out two shows on the same day at the Expo Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites, while all tickets for the UK version of the show were also snapped up two days before the event.

In secondary school, Tee A was the school jester, making a fool of himself for his friends. “Anybody who went to Birch Freeman would know me in those days, especially for my riddles and jokes,” he says…

Island Explorer Magazine’s interview with Tee A does not end there. Find out why you hardly performs at stand-up show again, what he thinks about Ali Baba, Nigerian Comedy, those he calls “live band comedians”, and so much more.

Business / What Would Keep Any Expatriate In Nigeria For Up To 20 Years? by goldenoyin: 7:16pm On Sep 24, 2012
As residents of Lagos, Africa’s second fastest growing city and the world’s seventh, we see a certain side to this city – its flaws and attractions. But what if you could see it through someone else’s eyes? What if you could see it through the eyes of an expatriate who has been in Nigeria, and even Lagos, for up to two decades? I’m sure one of the questions you would like to ask him is: “Why have you stayed for so long??”

Get access into the mind of an expatriate, Leonard by name, as he opens up to Island Explorer Magazine on his Lagos.

Nairaland / General / Should ALL Businesses Have A Presence On Lagos Island? by goldenoyin: 3:12pm On May 22, 2012
LET'S TALK>>>>>> Lagos is unarguably the commercial nerve-centre of Nigeria, and is broadly categorised into two: the Mainland and the Island. In many quarters, it is believed that the island, being the hub of Lagos/Nigeria's business world, is a place where ALL businesses that know their onion, MUST have a presence. #Let'sTalk.
