Interesting! These are very good projects. I hope this won't make Oguta lake less viable for tourism.

I don't think it would shaa, but nothing seems to be guaranteed right now.

Please can you give me link to the federal Ministry of Transport budget pdf

On a scale of 1-10 how massive will this Oguta project be? And how beneficial will it be to Imo state?

Super lucrative 10/10, it will make Oguta heavily economically viable than it's contemporaries and would spoil the calm, neat serene atmosphere of Oguta town, but will improve it's impressive infrastructure.

Apart from Bonny, I don't think there's any other oil and gas town with better infrastructures than Oguta shaa

I got it right because I said million not billion. The Federal Ministry of Trasport budgeted N235m while Imo State Government budget N40 billion for Oguta port.

Federal Ministry of Transport project there is only Oguta River port, more like the one in Baro and Onitsha.

Imo state government own is dredging from inland Oguta lake to 90 nautical miles to the Atlantic ocean and building of a wharf.

It's different from the federal government River port projects, but in the same vicinity, imo state government government wharf infrastructures is tailored towards crude lifting, while FG river port is more of non oil and gas lifting and importation.

True

I hope the govt look at it.

They can even involve private companies to fund it and recover their funds from it before handing it back to the state or keep managing it

How about the HOPE ESTATE? have they commenced?

I presume it's going on fine, but last time I was there, it was site clearing.

Was told the estate is funded by World bank grant after Imo state government met criteria stipulated for SFTAS housing grants.

Why is nobody thinking about this??

Imagine a rail linking Owerri Municipal to other major LGA in Imo the center.

This will definitely connect the state together and aids the swift development of other LGAs

Especially Oguta. They can start with the rail linking to Oguta and Orlu

I made the same proposal to the imo state government, a major rail line connecting Owerri to Orlu - Akokwa with branch line from Mgbidi to Oguta will be super lucrative.

A major rail line from Owerri - Okigwe with branch line to Mbaise is super lucrative

Owerri pH rail line with station at Futo area will sale

Owerri -Orlu - Akokwa rail line can easily be extended to Onitsha through orlu and Nnewi through Akokwa

Then a fresh solid line from Owerri to Aba, probably the shortest line but super lucrative with station at Airport junction.

The state doesn't need FG approval anymore since rail infrastructures is now under the concurrent list of the constitution, including power supply and generation.

I checked the 2023 budget of Federal ministry of transport and discovered that NGN235 million was allocated to the construction of Oguta River Port. I pray the political and economic will to deliver these lofty projects don't fade away.

You got it wrong, the entire capital expenditure of imo state government in 2023, is 240... Billion naira, so there's no way an item will get 200 billions, the budget single item was the Oguta wharf infrastructures which had 40bn naira outlay Sir.

Check again.

It appears the needed infrastructures would be put in place this year by God grace. I say this because the sum of NGN40 billion was budgeted in the IMSG 2023 budget for Oguta Lake Wharf/Seaport, while NGN36.88 billion was budgeted for 20,000 barrels per day refinery. Don't forget that the Special Agro Processing Zone have proposed sites in Oguta. The completion of Sam Mbakwe Cargo Terminal got NGN7 billion.

I pray these impressive projects are fully completed quickly.

Sam Mbakwe cargo terminal infrastructures seems more like a done deal as the Airport manager this month has eluded that negotiations with airlines for the commencement of international cargo flight is in progress.

But I doubt the Oguta wharf infrastructures will be ready this year, I believe next year will be more realistic.

Please what's the connection between Seplat and Shell on this project? This is the same multibillion-dollar gas project that Shell is constructing in Assa North, right? Or are they two different gas projects?

Secondly, what's the status of Adapalm?

Actually two different gas projects in the same vicinity, but symbiotic relationship, seplat will need feedstock from shell gas plant to run it's condensate plant, shell needs seplat pipeline for distribution instead of trucking

Adapalm is doing well under a new PPP, imo state government owns 12%, host community own 8% Roche owns 80%, it's currently operating with no issues, but moves are been made to expand the facility and introduce new subsidiary plants.

Can you tell us more of the planned Gas FTZ at Oguta?

It's one of the items, Hope Uzodimma got approval from FG to establish along the Coastline of Oguta lake, but it won't work until the needed infrastructures is put in place like dredging to the Atlantic ocean, and wharf infrastructures to receive cargo ships and loading of crude oil, although dredging is ongoing now, Navy is providing security there through their Naval base, Niwa is trying to complete their Riverport there also.

It's still at infancy shaa, but the plans for the area is super massive

Besides Futo is going to take over the defunct Marine University in the same area also.

One or two high-rise buildings here will put this area on a highbrow like Lekki and island. What does it take to build one that we can't just try and erect one? Okorocha started with few that is abandoned now, Hope should resuscitate that project, alot of billions lying still on that axis. What about the Modern carpark building Okorocha started then?

Funding seems to be the issue, but the carpark project is on the front burner, but the Centenary towers is still been debated upon by the economic team for it's realistic best purpose as I was told.

Don't why all highrise buildings in New Owerri are scattered across that area, instead of a particular district, they should be about two hotels with ten floors in New Owerri

Assa North-Ohaji South (ANOH) project expects first gas by the fourth quarter of 2023

Assa North-Ohaji South (ANOH) project expects first gas by the fourth quarter of 2023

The highly anticipated Assa North Ohaji South (ANOH) gas project will produce the first gas by Q4/2023, according to Seplat
The ANOH project has already achieved 95% mechanical completion.
Despite recording lower gas revenues in 2022, Seplat will focus on increasing its gas revenues through more utilization of its natural gas plants.
The Assa North Ohaji South (ANOH) natural gas project expects to produce its first gas by the fourth quarter of 2023.

This is according to findings made by Nairametrics after studying Seplat Energy’s 2022 full-year financial report.

The ANOH gas project, which has been referred to as a game changer, was earlier planned to begin operations in mid-2022. However, as cited in the company’s 2022 report, the project was pushed back due to delays in third-party infrastructure. The first gas is now expected by the final quarter of 2023.

According to the Seplat repor, the ANOH gas project has achieved 95% mechanical completion. The company said it has partnered with the NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company(NGIC), which is delivering the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) project, to spur pipelines to connect ANOH to customers. But there are delays owing to river tunnelling issues.

The company noted that two upstream wells have been completed by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), and two more will be completed in 2023.

Another GDP boosting project, praying for the planned Gas FTZ at Oguta materialize as well as Walter Smith green industrial park

Isopadec is a miniature NDDC in Imo state, it takes care of projects domiciled in the oil rich LGAs in Imo state which includes oguta, Ohaji egbema and Oru West LGAs.

NDDC projects are different from isopadec, it's entirely a different govt agency.
