From Ojota, if you are on the Kudirat Abiola Way side of the road, you would need to cross via the pedestrian bridge to the Ogudu Road side of Ojota.

Ogudu Road shares boundary with the Filling Station in between the two pedestrian bridges and the Biode Motor Park second gate.

Board a 50 naira cab going to Ogudu and drop at Ramat junction(Ogudu G.R.A. Estate gate).
The junction is just after Chicken Republic and opposite Coldstone Creamery when coming from Ojota.

Walk through the gate and down Rahmat crescent to the second turning to your right(Bola Ashiru street).
I believe MOD office building is the last house to your left on Bola Ashiru street sitting on a cornerpiece.

I hope this helps.
Thanks, I am very grateful

Abridged step-by-step procedure for Canada express entry

Step 1: Take IELTS and attain CLB 9 (viz: band score of 8777 in LRWS)
CLB 9 gives candidates additional language points boost of 50–60 points. If you are able to reach the score of 440+ without CLB 9, that is fine too.
Cost - Approx 70k every time you take IELTS.

Step 2: Get your ECA done (approx 6–8 weeks, could be more)
ECA is Education Credential Assessment. It is done by multiple organisations (WES one of them) and provides you the Canadian equivalent degree assessment of your native country education.
Cost - Depends on the assessor organization.

Step 3: Create EE profile on CIC website with your attained IELTS score and ECA
Making a profile enters you in the pool of candidates waiting for the ITA (Invitation to Apply). Make sure all the information mentioned in the profile is accurate as you will be asked to provide proof of all that information once you are selected.
Cost - 0

Step 4: Wait for the draw to reach your score and receive ITA afterwards
The ROI (Rounds of Invidation) happens every 3–4 weeks. The Canadian govt declares the min cut off score of the EE profile and all the candidates having that score or score more than it will get ITA. The score varies and is tweaked to meet a certain number of applicants quota per ROI.
Cost - 0

Step 5: Post ITA, you get 60 days to submit your documents
After candidate's receive ITA, they are suppose to provide documents and proofs of all the information mentioned in their profile along with few others. The documents/information needed from the candidates are:
Travel Document (Passport) of all applicants
Digital Photograph of all applicants
Proof of Employment of primary applicant
Proof of Funds of primary applicant
Proof of Medical of all applicants
Proof of Education & IELTS of all applicants
Police Clearance Certificate (From all countries where you have resided for 6 months or more) of Pry applicant (and accompanying spouse)
Cost varies as Medical cost, PCC fees, Notarization fees etc varies on location.

Step 6: Submit documents, pay Immigration Fee and wait for the PPR (PassPort Request - For stamping)
After submitting the documents and paying the Immigration fees, the Canadian Immigration officers verifies the documents and information provided. This generally takes 3–6 months (sometimes even more!) depending on the application type, countries a person has resided in and most importantly, the immigration visa office where the application has been sent for processing and how much application backlog is there.
Cost - 300k per adult / 43k CAD per child

Step 7: PPR received. Submit Passport and get Canada CoPR (Confirmation of PR)
Once the documents are verified, candidates are intimated about the result of their application via mail. On successful processing, candidates are required to submit the passports of all the applicants for the Visa Stamping and CoPR. Passport is being sent by VFS Global and the stamped passport are returned to the designated address within 2 weeks along with 2 copies of CoPR.

Step 8: Reach Canada on CoPR and apply for PR card
Applicants are suppose to travel to Canada within the tenure mentioned on the passport. The tenure is generally till the time passport is valid or till medical proof is valid, whichever is earlier. In any case, visa will not be for more than 1 year.
Applicants are suppose to plan their travel, temporary or permanent migration, to Canada within the Visa timelines and submit one copy of CoPR at the time of landing. The other copy is stamped and returned.
Submitting CoPR means that Candidates have successfully landed in Canada and this in turn initiates the PR card application for each applicant.

Step 9: Receive PR card (2–3 months)
Official PR Card processing time is 62–65 days and the PR card will be couriered to the address given by the applicants at the time of their landing. The address has to be a Canadian address.
PR Card will be delivered to the address within 50–80 days. In case you have performed soft landing (temporary migration) just to fulfill the landing formalities before the Visa expires, you can request any friend coming to your Naija to bring along your PR card.
PR cards are not couriered outside Canada and have to be delivered in person in such scenarios.

Step 10: You are Canadian PR. Enjoy!
Once you have your PR card, you are officially a Canadian PR. Have fun!
PR card is provided with validity of 5 years. A person is suppose to live in Canada for 730 days in consecutive 5 years to continue his/her PR card for next 5 years after the expiry.
If a person has stayed in Canada for more than 1095 days in consecutive 5 years, he/she is eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship.

Some Acronyms Frequently Used in this post & during Visa Processing:
CLB - Canadian Language Benchmark
ECA - Education Credential Assessment
EE - Express Entry
ROI - Round of Invitations
ITA - Invitation to Apply
CoPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residency
PPR - Passport Request
PR - Permanent Resident (Residency)
Thanks for this

My interview was somehow. I meet the PRO on arrival, she was nice and directed me to the servicom desk. The guy I meet there asked me why did I pay online as to coming down to do it with them, he said I may not do the capturing that day(yesterday) I begged and told him I came from a far place. He told me to wait and exercise patience. In my presence he turned two people who registered online back that they should come next week for capturing. I did my capturing around after 4 in the evening, got there after nine in the morning under the rain. I was mad at some point, but God took control.

For the guarantors form, it is two pages, one woman there helped with filling it appropriately, she wasn't an immigration officer though.

Just get your guarantor's passport and a photocopy of his international passport and go to any court round you for stamping, you'll have to pay.
Did you tip to be captured?
When were you asked to come for collection?

I decided to try my luck with IELTS to ascertain if this journey is meant for me.( That IELTS money no be here)

Anyway, wrote with MOD in September, result came LSRW [ 8.5, 7.0, 9, 6.5 ]. I was actually impressed with myself. I didn’t believe I could perform so well being my first attempt and going by the comments I read. I told myself I will just wait a while and probably rewrite at a later date. The thought of EOR didn’t even appeal to me because I felt I messed up my writing especially with the section 2 (I wrote advantage/disadvantage essay rather than picking an opinion). However, my section 1 was quite perfect.

After reading several testimonies here, I took up the courage to try my luck with EOR after about 2 weeks. I just applied for a remark of all components (make I play baba ijebu) and was following up with Australia immediately I submitted an EOR.

To my greatest surprise, EOR returned with an upgrade in both speaking and writing LSRW [ 8.5, 8, 9, 7.5 ]. I was really excited but at the same time appalled. I kept asking questions about the difference. All I was told was to thank my stars.

Well.....rather than thanking my stars, I should thank everyone that has contributed one way or the other on this thread. Every resource and information that has guided me were all absorbed on here.

The journey just started! We will all testify at the end.
Whao! A very big congratulation to you. Please what do you mean by following up with Australia immediately?

Very Short Post Alert

In another news!!!

Apologies this is coming late. It’s PPR!!!!

Started this journey in October 2017 after we made a decision to relocate.

IELTS showed me pepper as I had to take it three times:

1st - 10 February 2018 LRWS 6,8,8,7.5

2nd - 24 March 2018 LRWS 7.5,8,6.5,8, when I saw this result midnight of 6 April, I quickly registered for the following day’s test without much preparation.

3rd - 7 April 2018 LRWS 8.5,8.5,7,8. As a result of this third IELTS result, our CRS jumped to 450 from 3hundred and sth(don’t ask me questions embarassed). I would say please don’t give up on this journey because I was almost losing confidence in myself after my second IELTS result as I rarely fail exams. I also got encouragement on this forum seeing some people gave (as our Indian brothers will say) IELTS up to 7 times and now in Canada. Hence, I had to quickly re-take the test to avoid losing momentum.

Timeline

Minimum invited CRS 441
CRS 450
FSWO
NOC 1111
ITA 25 April
AOR 5 June
MEP 18 June
IP1 19 June
GCMS note request 30 August (had to request as I was scared after reading some comments here about Pension fund not being considered by CIC for POF)
IP2 27 September
Ghost update 2 October
Received GCMS 2 October (everything looks fine and I remember sharing here my PF was considered as POF as minimum required fund was marked met)

Then the long awaited golden mail arrived!!!!

PPR 3 October 2018 at exactly 3:39am, can’t remember the seconds grin
No ADR
Family size 3
Ottawa VO

ECA - I used WES but those guys plus our regular naija strike stressed me Walahi; I sha got the completed report for spouse and myself after 6 months.

PCC - Got for U.K. and Nigeria. U.K PCC is pretty easy to get once you follow instructions on their site. For Nigeria PCC, used inspector Moshood for spouse and myself. He charged us N17,000 because we couldn’t go to Alagbon as all correspondence with him was via email. However, I sent a friend to pick the original certificates from him and scan to me. Contrary to what I have read here, I decided to exclude from my eApr the Alagbon stamped fingerprints papers accompanying the PCC because I felt it wasn’t relevant since CIC only requested for PCC; so I only uploaded the Police certificates with our application. Thank God there was no issue with it. Although, I wanted to take style avoid implicating myself as I was in the U.K. when I submitted my application and the procedure for getting fingerprints done was expensive for me and stressful; so I bought ink pad from one shop and did the stuff in my room, then scanned to inspector Moshood. I felt if I had included the fingerprints with my application, any inquisitive VO may flag that “how did he get PCC as the fingerprints were not certified or stamped by U.K. police &/or Nigeria High commission”. Just my thinking though.

POF - Hmmm, I had to patch this one o; I used Treasury bills from Stanbic as 55% of POF (didn’t include any bank statements), cash in Dom account with a foreign bank was 28% (only submitted stamped bank statements and a letter from the bank stating when the account was opened as I intentionally didn’t want to get the format letter requested by CIC because I have credit card debt with the bank which I wasn’t sure may affect my POF; God had mercy sha) while my PF was the remaining 17% of POF. I prayed o for them to consider this PF as it was my last resort and only hope at that time as I don’t have anybody that can gift me money. Can’t remember the last time I got money gift tongue again, maybe childhood. As advised on this tread, I prepared a table for the POF and explained each, particularly the PF section, very well as I had initially withdrawn some voluntary contributions in 2017 and this reflected on the Pension statements. Had to let them know the withdrawn amount was a voluntary contribution and does not constitute part of the accessible 25% o before somebody will start running around for money way no loss upon ADR for the balance. wink

Work experience - got over 3 years work experience and getting reference letter was pretty easy. God bless my employer. Although, not necessary, I submitted work experience letter for my wife too since we had it readily available.

Medicals - Everything was fine for 3 of us other than the Dr recommending me for a further test because he sighted protein in my urine. God forbid!!! But thank God all was well after the further test although he still included protein something which my Jesus had taken away.

Travel history - just US and UK and no Visa refusal history

Criminal history - None by His grace other than childhood stealing of pencils and biros; and beating traffic lights in Lagos; which Nigeria PCC did not capture. grin

What again??

Ok lest I forget, I got 15 points for sibling in Canada so provided Copies of her PR card, utility bills within 3 months of eApr, marriage certificates and birth certificates showing names of both parents. I included sibling’s marriage certificate and newspaper publication for change of name as sibling is married and utility bill carries husband’s name.

My prayer for all still waiting for IELTS, ECA, ITA, POF and PPR is that it will surely come speedily in Jesus’ name. Amen

This thread is very informative and is got selfless people always willing to share. May God bless you all.

Congratulation, God all the way, i salute your courage for that 3rd ielts.

Thank you Nairaland for all your assistance kiss kiss. The journey that started from Part 3 of this thread has been concluded in Part 5

IELTS: 3 Mar 18 LRSW 9988
WES: 17 Apr 18 Masters
CRS: 481
ITA: 25 Apr 18
AOR: 29 May 18
MEP: 8 Jun 18
IP1: Same day as MEP
IP2: 20 Sept 18
PPR: 25 Sept 18 (mail came in 1:34am Sept 26)
AOR to PPR: 117 days (approx. 4 months)
Passport transmitted: 26 Sept 18

Visa office: Ottawa. Single applicant
No ADRs, 1 US Visa refusal, and I didn’t complete the Schedule A (it was just too much work then... thank God they didn’t want it)

Immediately I saw the PPR mail on 26th morning, I just called in sick at work. It was raining that day but submit passport I must…... Went back to the same work I called in sick to (but stayed on a different floor) and printed and filled all I needed to fill and made all the copies I needed to make.
I had filled the IMM0008 and IMM5406 Additional Family forms because I didn’t have power to shout. The form is not that hard to fill esp if you are single with no dependents.

I then headed down to Studio 24 with my ruler and copy of photo specifications to measure the picture I’ll take. The lady there laughed at my ruler but she still helped me measure it. She stamped and signed and dated, but requirement said put full address also… I told madam to biko put full address. By the time she finished, there was no space to put my name and DOB but I squeezed it in there.

The rain helped because when I got to VFS Canada floor around 11am, it was empty. Just a handful of people. Everything was done on the 1st floor (collect PPT paper from security, wait, submit documents to the guy at till 1 when called, he will package inside envelope and you go and pay at till 5 or so, then hand over to the person at till 8 or 9 and shikena). Spent just 15mins for everything that day…… it was that empty

I had posted my appreciation post in the part 3 of this thread. That was when I discovered the thread and realized I was wasting time and money chasing my bsc transcript (I had already paid 45k, it was sent and wes said it was incomplete and had to be resent. The school was now telling me to pay again…. TF). Nd the msc was already accepted oh… Nobody told me to tell wes to delete the bsc

I just went to the first page of part 3, got a jotter and went to work and the rest is history.

All in all, my application was fairly straightforward. Decision to travel to PPR = 9 months. I really didn’t encounter any delays (asides my bsc matter) getting any of the documents and I thank God for that. Single NOC, Work ref was how CIC wanted it + payslips, POF was money in 2 mutual fund accounts (GCMS said they did not include my pension) + my salary and personal account, Medicals at QLife, PCC – ASP Mosh + UK PCC which I sent to a friend to scan down.

I kept it simple and had only 2 LOEs (1 was under the additional document place where I explained the visa refusal and the 2nd was where I aggregated my POFs in a summary table and showed CAD equivalent and exchange rate).

Thanks to this page and all those that responded the few times I had questions – I remember when 1 of the statutory questions was confusing me and Nairaland came to my rescue. Muchos Gracias

On to the next phase…….. btw, who else is completely overwhelmed by the amount of info from that MAP document + the many FPPs that are reaching out. This 24 hours in a day is not long enough.

I wish everybody success in every phase they are at…..….. All the best
Congratulation, pls what did you present as your POF evidence

Long Post Alert!!! (Thought someone might learn one or two)

Alhamdulillahi, it's PPR!!!
Came in when i least expected. It's been God all the way.

Timeline.

ITA : 25th July

AOR: 12th August

Med Passed: 12th September

Biometric Captured: 14th September

PPR: Dated 25th September (got it this Morning @ 1.34 am)

May God reward the moderators of this forum. Sincerely, only God Can reward them.
I thought about this journey about this period last year and gambled with ielts (4th Oct, 2017) with BC. To God's glory I passed at first attempt, L,S,W, R - 8, 7, 7, 8.5. Then i evaluated my first and 2nd degree Cert with WES, hubby was also pushed to write IELTS hoping to get @ least 441 but she had 6.5 in IELTS with listening being 5.5. CRS was 438. I entered the pool on 14th February. As ITA no gree drop, we had to get her master's certificate evaluated as well WITH WES, NASU strike caused a lot of delay + UNILAG postponement of convocation early this year (WES evaluation was done with Statement of Result as certificate wasn't available then, also nah standard posting I do for her oo, no much difference from Courier in terms of timeline). WES Evaluation was completed on 15th July, I updated my profile sharply and CRS jumped to 448. We got ITA that same day.

Did my medical @ Q-life (being the cheapest for the kids) on 19th of July, same day was the PCC( I just walked in to Alagbon and negotiated 5k with the officer{not the popular inspector in the house}).

I had collected my work reference letter since June as well as my pay stub. Wife's work reference letter was collected few days to application (this wasn't reqd but dont know why the system insisted i submit it, I stated it in LOE that her work experience doesn't add up scores for us)

I have a bit of Travelling experience across europe, my 1st Application to UK was denied (I stated reasons for denial in my LOE), and also showed that my subsequent application was approved. My Application was quite simple not perfect but God has perfected it for me.

POF was 100% TBILLS of two tranches, first was 25% of POF which has been in TBILL since May, 2nd Tranch of 75% was gift deed (notarised) has just been placed in t-bill in less than a week to my application. I submitted both my savings and current account Statement and stated in LOe that my current account is basically for card payment while my Savings is used for my salary and other transaction, this is really the case. I also had other voluminous transaction which i never talked about as e no concern dem, however, I stated that my POF is from the TBILLS which i attached the certificates.

I didnt rush to apply, i made sure everything was thorough and detailed. My family have 4 members.

For awaiting applicants, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS refer to page one of this trend. It was more than helpful in my Application.

Wishing us all best of luck!!!
Whao, this is very fast. Congratulation

Finally, I.E.L.T.S has freed me on my third attempt!

So overjoyed.

First attempt :LRWS 8, 8.5, 6.5, 7.5 (B.C)
Second attempt : LRWS 7.5, 8.5,6.5,7.5 (B.C)
Third attempt: LRWS 8.5, 7, 7,7.5(MOD)

I applied for a remark after my first attempt, but it came out negative.I used jay's method for the writing, thus, i was not surprised about the outcome. I wrote again shortly after, and the result was devastating for me. I lost confidence in myself. I have to admit, i thought i wrote the best during my second attempt. I did not apply for a remark because of my listening score.

I decided to go on vacation to relieve the stress of work and wrote a day before i traveled. Unlike the previous exams, i never prepared and just read a sample of liz's essay. I adopted her style during my writing. It was an opinion essay, and i ensured i stated my opinion and supported a view all through. I never discussed both views before stating my opinion.I also read the manual MOD sends to candidates when they register for the exam. To be honest, the tips were more useful to me than most materials i read online. One tip was to keep it simple and not write to too long sentences as they may make the sentence less coherent.I never expected to pass because of the lack of preparation, coupled with MOD's deliberate attempt to frustrate the candidates on test day due to their lack of organization. But Alas, i scaled through I.E.L.T.S hurdle!

In my opinion, British council is well organised, but that's all i can say about it. MOD, on the other hand, is not, especially with the delay in uploading of results, but i believe are better these days in terms of result.

CRS point sitting pretty at 475. Cant wait for the next draw. I need me a swimming trunk.
Congratulation, dive in

From CIC.
"...documentation to support a declaration of status as “legally separated” (e.g., a letter of explanation, legal documents, etc.), if applicable." check here.

"...a separation agreement, a court order in respect of custody of children substantiating the marriage breakdown, or
documents removing the legally married spouse(s) from insurance policies or wills as beneficiaries (a “change of beneficiary” form)". check here.

Note that there have been instances where case officers were not satisfied with the documents provided and still asked for divorce papers (check here and check here)

Take note though that you must get a consent letter from him/her to include your children in your application or provide a legal document handing over custody of your children to you (see here).

As long as you are married, your spouse, separated or not is part of your application and is only exempted from eligibility. He/she may be evaluated for admissibility i.e. the spouse may need to do medicals, get PCC and criminality checks will be done on him/her by the relevant government agencies (see here).

Try these suggestions and see how far you can go with them. It will end in praise

Letter of Explanation (Sample)
Under some circumstances, candidates may need to add an Letter of Explanation (LoE) to their application. This can result from a missing document that could not be provided, an incoherence that might jump to the attention of the immigration officer reviewing your case, etc.

The LoE is also your way of communicating to immigration officers any supplementary information that is not on the documents uploaded and that you deem important for them to know.

Where to add the Letter of Explanation (LoE) ?
As there are multiple sections for uploading documents (Passport, Education, Proof of Work Experience, Medical Exam, etc.), you are only given the choice of uploading one PDF document (under 4MB) per section. This means that you need to write a LoE for each section (if needed of course), and add it to the rest of the documents relating to said section.

For example, if you are missing your Diploma because it has been lost, write a LoE explaining what happened and why you could not provide the Diploma, add it to the rest of the documents (WES report, transcripts, etc.) to form one PDF file. Then upload the PDF file in the Proof of Studies section.

We strongly advise you to put the LoE at the beginning of the PDF file. This ensures that the immigration officer reads the LoE first, and then goes on to the other documents attached to the LoE (if there are any).

If you cannot provide the documents per IRCC's requirements, we recommend that you add any other document that you can think of that would make the immigration officer believe that you are acting in good faith. To come back to the missing Diploma example, you can add a police report and/or a school receipt attesting that you have asked for a duplicate.
