Nobody has time to be sponsoring banditry in the south. The north has also never needed a private airstrip and they are able to smuggle in and out. 29 Likes 2 Shares |

There's one solution and it's for you to engage in regular fastings, prayer and word study. Commit your time away from your husband and use it to gain deeper depth in Christ. As you are gaining depth the Holy Spirit will regulate your sexual appetite - and make it normal. Currently, your sexual appetite is untamed and it's likely a product of your past. This is something I have seen the Lord do for me when I commit myself to him. My sexual appetite is regulated to normalcy. 2 Likes |

Foreign Affairs / Norwayâs Gigantic Sovereign Wealth Fund Makes $76 Billion Q3 Profit by grandiose4ever: 8:35am On Oct 23 |
Norwayâs sovereign wealth fund on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of 835 billion Norwegian kroner ($76.3 billion), citing a stock market boost from falling interest rates. The so-called Government Pension Fund Global, one of the worldâs largest investors, said it had a value of 18.870 trillion kroner at the end of September. The fundâs overall return for the quarter was 4.4%, which was 0.1 percentage points lower than the return of a benchmark index set by Norwayâs Finance Ministry. The benchmark index against which the fund measures itself is based on the FTSE Global All Cap index for equities and Bloomberg Barclays indexes for fixed income. Trond Grande, deputy CEO of Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), which manages the worldâs largest sovereign wealth fund, said recent changes in monetary policy had âa pretty significant impactâ on the fundâs third-quarter results. âItâs been quite an eventful quarter if you think about it. It started with a lot of volatility throughout summer in July and into August and then you had the speculation of a soft landing and whether the Fed would cut,â Grande told CNBCâs Silvia Amaro on Tuesday. âWhat I think you have seen from our numbers is that with a rising tide, all boats rise, right? And so, you saw a very broad increase in the stock market based on lower interest rates, essentially.â The results come shortly after NBIM warned that elevated uncertainty and a âcompletely different geopolitical situationâ meant there were now more risks to global stocks. Equities, which accounted for 71.4% of the fund in the third quarter, notched a return of 4.5%. The return on the fixed-income investments, which account for 26.8% of the fundâs assets, stood at 4.2% over the period. Norwayâs sovereign wealth fund, the worldâs largest, was established in the 1990s to invest the surplus revenues of the countryâs oil and gas sector. To date, the fund has put money in more than 8,760 companies in 71 countries around the world. A global easing cycle is currently under way, with major central banks taking steps to soften their aggressive stances on monetary policy as inflation falls in many high-income countries. The U.S. Federal Reserve delivered a jumbo interest rate cut of half a percentage point last month. The Bank of England lowered rates for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic in August, and the European Central Bank last week moved to cut rates for the third time this year. The Bank of Japan, however, held interest rates steady last month as it continues to tread cautiously on normalizing monetary policy. Japanâs central bank is regarded as something of an outlier in the global shift toward easing. Asked about the outlook for tech stocks over the coming months, NBIMâs Grande said: âThatâs a difficult question, right? Because tech has had such a phenomenal ride on the back of all the hype â letâs call it hype â about AI.â âSo, I think itâs a situation where you need to be maybe a little bit careful,â he added. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/10/22/norway-sovereign-wealth-fund-posts-q3-earnings-2024.html |

Foreign Affairs / Re: IDF Acknowledges Iranian Missiles Hit Airbases, But No Aircraft Damaged by grandiose4ever: 1:00pm On Oct 02 |
The way Israel missile defense works is that it prioritises interception of missiles that will hit critical infrastructure. If the iron dome, sling or arrow system observes that the incoming missile will hit an open field or sea then it'd ignore it and focus on those about to hit critical items. This is why lots of missiles hit but didn't cause casualties. Israel's response will likely be very heavy 3 Likes 2 Shares |
Foreign Affairs / IDF Acknowledges Iranian Missiles Hit Airbases, But No Aircraft Damaged by grandiose4ever: 12:57pm On Oct 02 |
The IDF acknowledges that some of its airbases were hit in last nightâs Iranian missile attack on Israel. The impacts damaged office buildings and other maintenance areas in the bases that do not impact the Israeli Air Forceâs functioning, according to the military. No IAF aircraft were damaged in the attack and all of the missile impacts in the airbases are deemed by the military as âineffective,â meaning that no harm was caused to the continuous operations of the IAF. The military reports no damage caused to fighter jets, drones, other aircraft, munitions and critical infrastructure. Highlighting the ineffectiveness of the Iranian attack, the military notes that the IAF continued its operations in the following hours, including major strikes against Hezbollah in Beirut, support for ground forces in southern Lebanon and strikes in Gaza. No major injuries were caused in the attack, with only two civilians lightly hurt by shrapnel in Tel Aviv. The IDF says that it measures the effectiveness of an attack based on how much damage was caused to critical infrastructure and assets, and how many casualties were caused, and not how many missiles ultimately impacted. Air defenses successfully prevented such damage and major casualties, it says. The IAF is also readying for a response against Iran, per the instructions of the political echelon. https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/idf-says-some-iranian-missiles-hit-airbases-but-no-aircraft-or-major-infrastructure-damaged/?utm_source=Push&utm_medium=Chrome&utm_content=Breaking_News&utm_campaign=desktop-notifications Nplmod Mynd44 |

Education / US Embassy Selects 56 Nigerians For The Mandela Washington Fellowship 2022 by grandiose4ever: 4:11pm On May 13, 2022 |
U.S. Mission Nigeria has selected 56 recipients for the Mandela Washington Fellowship (MWF) for 2022. Additionally, U.S. Mission Nigeria has selected 16 alumni from the MWF cohort from 2021 to participate in this yearâs Alumni Enrichment Institute. Launched in 2014, the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship exchange program of the U.S. government-sponsored Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) created to further the United Statesâ commitment to investing in the future of Africa. Each year, U.S. Missions across Sub-Saharan Africa select accomplished leaders, who have established records of promoting innovation and positive impact in their countries. This summer, the Fellows will travel to the United States to participate in six-week Leadership Institutes studying Business, Civic Engagement, or Public Management at U.S. colleges and universities. At the conclusion of the Leadership Institutes, the Fellows will attend the annual Mandela Washington Fellowship Summit, where Fellows, U.S. government officials, and representatives from businesses and organizations with interest in Africa engage in high-level sessions and workshops. After completing the Leadership Institutes and Summit, Fellows are eligible to participate in several MWF alumni opportunities, such as the Alumni Enrichment Institute, that build the on skills and connections developed during their summer exchange program. Since 2014, over 5,000 young leaders from every country in Sub-Saharan Africa have participated in the MWF with 456 Fellows hailing from Nigeria. Thus far, Nigeria remains the largest contributor of Fellows each year. Commenting on the significance of the MWF, Ambassador Leonard stated, âThe United States is dedicated to investing in the next generation of young Nigerian leaders reinforcing the strong partnership between both nations. The vision, courage, and drive to innovate of Mandela Washington Fellows will help shape the future of Nigeria for many generations to come.â U.S. Mission Nigeria congratulates the following recipients of the Mandela Washington Fellowship and participants of the Alumni Enrichment Institute for 2022. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bellanaija.com/2022/05/2022-mandela-washington-fellows-nigeria/amp/ Lalasticlala 1 Like 1 Share |
Politics / Nigerian Loses Mandela Washington Fellowship Due To NIS Negligence by grandiose4ever: 4:17pm On May 01, 2022 |
When Mohammed Dahiru Lawal, an Abuja-based writer, got shortlisted for the United Statesâ Mandela Washington Fellowship in March 2022, he did not foresee the chances of losing it until the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) frustrated the processes. Lawal (also the author of 101 Fake News on EndSARS) after successfully applying for the fellowship in September 2021, was invited for an interview three months later. As luck would have it for him, he was among the 58 (Nigeria) successful applicants selected in March 2022. âCongratulations! You have been selected to participate in the 2022 Mandela Washington Fellowship, the U.S Department of Stateâs flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI),â a mail dated March 7, from Nigeriaâs Embassy of the United State of America, reads. The congratulatory mail. The mail further revealed that Lawal is expected to arrive in the United States on June 8, 2022, for an in-person fellowship which would span for six weeks. But Lawal contends that ânegligence and unprofessionalismâ by NIS and NIMC robbed him of the offer. READ: NIMC Wants NIN Compulsory For All Govt Services, Solicits BPSRâs Support Prior to when the U.S embassy sent the congratulatory mail, Lawal had begun processing his passport renewal in February. âI initiated the process of renewing my passport in February 2022, when I was shortlisted for the Fellowship interview,â Lawal said. But what ordinarily should take him three weeks to get spanned into three months, yet in vain. NIS/NIMC Ineptitude Lawal became a victim of not the only Nigerian bureaucracy system, but also gross misconduct by the officials of NIS and NIMCâs Ineptitude. Average Passport Processing times take up to 3 weeks for renewals/reissues and up to 6weeks for-first-time applicants, according to the passport production timeline portrayed on NISâ website. Lawalâs passport, according to him, expired about two to three years ago and I did not attempt renewing it until when I needed to. âWhen I went for the renewal, the NIS officials detected some biometric errors like misspelling and name arrangement on my NIN data,â Lawal said, adding there was a need to harmonise his NIN data to match with the one on the NIS database. âBefore they could harmonise that, you (Lawal) have to write a formal letter to NIMC,â he continued. âAfter writing that, it has to be taken to the Assistant Control General of Immigration (ACG).â Unfortunately, the process of forwarding his letter to the ACG took almost two months before he finally got an approval. Following this, Lawal was subjected to another bureaucratic burden â the Implementation and Production stage. âThat should not take more than one or two hours,â said Lawal. But his file was forwarded to another section within the production realm. How Lawalâs File Went Missing with IRIS Lawalâs file was transferred to the office of the IRIS Smart Technology, a foreign ICT technical affiliate with NIS. WikkiTimes findings show that the foreign NIS partner handles the production of Nigeriansâ passports. âTwo weeks later, IRIS returned my file saying the document on my file did not tally with my NIN data,â Lawal said in disappointment. This after he had written a letter to that effect. An insider would later verify Lawalâs NIN data from the NIS database and confirm it was correct. Sadly, âby the time the file was returned to IRIS with a printout of the evidence, they said the NIMC server was down. This went on for weeks without even a ray of hope for a positive outcome,â Lawal told WikkiTimes. READ: INVESTIGATION: How Humanitarian Ministry Diverted Multi-Million Naira Rural Women Grant To Personal Accounts âEventually, a very top female Immigration officer who got wind of my predicament waded in and intervened and ordered for my file,â Lawal continued. âBoom! The workers said they couldnât find my file again. They said it was missing.â âHow can my file just disappear out of the blues?â Lawal asked. âItâs not only funny, but itâs also pathetic and this makes me feel sorry for such kind of woes many Nigerians have to undergo.â Offer Revoked After many deadlines and extensions given by the U.S embassy, Lawalâs six-week fellowship program was revoked â a situation that has kept him traumatised for days. âAccording to programme records, you failed to submit a valid passport for Mandella Washington Fellowship that was due for 04:00 pm GMT (12:00 pm ET) on April 20, 2022. Consistent with the Mandella Washington Fellowship Terms and Conditions, your selection for Mandella Washington Fellowship has been officially withdrawn; this action can not be appealed,â a notice to revocation mail sent to Lawal reads. https://wikkitimes.com/between-nis-and-nimc-mohammed-lawals-file-went-missing-making-him-lose-u-s-fellowship/ Lalasticlala 1 Like |
