For Fire,
1. Identify the potential sources of ignition (electricity, smoking, naked flame etc). This would include evidence of statutory inspections
2. Identify combustible/flammable materials and their current storage arrangements.
3. Identify people at risk
4. Identify structural features that will aid to the rapid growth and spread of smoke and fire. (e.g. holes through walls, doors that do not close properly or have excessive gaps)
5. Identify the current arrangements for detecting a fire and raising the alarm.
6. Check that arrangements are in place for training and safe evacuation of the premises.

For Theft at business area
1. Hire Great People.
There’s no substitute for high-quality, well-trained personnel who pay attention and create a great customer experience. They discourage potential thieves because of their friendliness and approach. "Making eye contact the minute people walk into the store and interacting with customers is a significant deterrent to shoplifting," Sell says.
2. Use Integrated Solutions.
"Use the right kind of technology and use it intelligently," Sell says. For example, EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) and video don’t stand alone — integrated solutions have the best chance of preventing theft. The retailers that are best at combating retail theft are using and maximizing technology to its fullest potential. "People can defeat technology, so you constantly have to get smarter about how you manage it."
3. Analyze The Data.
"Smart retailers are harvesting all of the data that’s available to them as a result of technology and leveraging it," says Sell. Even if it’s after the fact, analyzing the information from transactions, EAS systems, and video can help predict (and prevent) future theft.
4. Get Your Entire Team Involved.
"If you leave loss prevention to the loss prevention team, they may have some biases," Sell cautions. He says the more you can get other parts of the company to participate, the greater your return on technology investment will be.
5. Understand New Cutting-Edge Technologies.
"Technology changes exponentially and people change incrementally, so the technology is always going to be ahead of us. Safetrade International has chips that allow you to track items, can help deter theft and provide more intelligence about what’s being stolen. You can even track the movement of a product towards the door. Higher pixel-rate video like CCTV (closed-circuit television), which is accurate from far distances, and facial recognition technology are tools that retailers can use to capture repeat offenders. For Theft at Home
Thieves love homes that are unprotected and easy to break into; or homes that have many valuables. The following steps elaborate on some methods to avoid having your home broken into.
Steps
1. Lock the doors - Although this seems obvious, many people still fail to do this. This makes it incredibly easy for a criminal to steal items, without difficulty of getting them out of the home (except some furniture); and without leaving visible evidence of the theft, that a neighbor can see from the outside of the home. Close and lock windows - Just locking doors is pointless if you do not close the windows when gone.
3. Don't advertise valuables - You do not have to put a list your valuables in the classified for a local newspaper, for a criminal to know what valuables you might have. By placing valuables in plain-sight; such as having valuables in locations that abut a window, especially on the first floor of the home (i.e. large television or computer system directly behind the large front windows of your home.).

4. Also, just because you don't make it obvious for someone who goes by the home to know what's in it, there are other ways a criminal can determine what valuables you have in your home. Be careful of who is knowledgeable of your valuables. By bragging (or telling) about your valuables, even to people you believe are not going to be the burglars; you increase your risk of a home invasion. Even if they are completely innocent, they could possibly tell somebody who is not as upstanding. For those who post information of what they own online, you should also be careful.

5. Get an alarm - If you live in a rural area, then these may not be very much use. However, in city environments, these can provide additional security to your home. Invest in a quality alarm, preferably with a cellular backup (because it is quite easy for a criminal to disconnect phone wires leading to your home). Be sure to turn it on, especially in the following situations:
a. You leave your home, and nobody is there. Even if you are only gone for a short period of time.
b. When you are home alone.
c. When you are sleeping.

6. Remove hiding locations - Criminals love to make an entry in a location that is poorly visible to others.. By removing vegetation that makes it difficult for others to see around your home, you lower the risk that they can make a silent entry.

7. Park bicycles and vehicles in a garage - If possible, park your bicycles and vehicles in a locked garage. If that garage has windows, be sure to put shades or blinds over them; so criminals cannot see what kind of transportation they can steal.

8. Add privacy curtains - These thin curtains allow light in, but distort the image of the room.

Tips
• Follow the neighborhood. Even if you are wealthier than most people in the neighborhood, you may want to make the exterior of your home look like the rest of the neighborhood. While this can be unoriginal in certain areas (i.e. where everyone's home is well kept), in bad neighborhoods, this can be a great remedy. This means, unless the exterior of your house is falling apart, do not replace the siding. Moral of the story, make your house look like all of the other houses in the neighborhood.
• Put tools away in a locked, secure shed. Never leave ladders, power tools, or other items that can help a criminal enter a home. Ladders allow a criminal to get into the home easily, power-tools such as saws allow the criminal to make their own entry. Bricks or other heavy items can help malicious people or thieves smash windows, also.
• Place signs for a security company on the front lawn, and in windows. Even if you don't have an alarm system, you can ask a family member (one you trust, however) if you do not have any stickers / signs.
• Drive an older car. If you drive an older, cheaper car, this can tell a criminal that you are not very wealthy, and therefore your home is not a good target.
• Security cameras can be great in a few ways:
a. They deter criminals.
b. They can provide evidence after a break-in; and help authorities identify the culprits.
c. If you are home, and you are able to glance at the security monitor, you can contact authorities potentially before an issue arises.

• Get a safe - if you can fit valuables in a safe, and then consider getting one.

Studidept could equally enrich the Catalogue with educative content. We have created an effective way of collecting the data of student of a particular class. How?
With the e-classroom we have set-up within our website for the class, the specific group of students with the aid of Class password will gain access and signup up; entering the information about themselves and uploading their photo and Passport. The minimum size of photo is 150kb. We access the database and then contact the class governor/leader informing them of the names of student we have gotten their complete profile. We then place a deadline for final collection before commencing production of the Printed Yearbook. The e-classroom is absolutely free in a scenario where we are to take up the production of the Class yearbook and/or T-shirt. Where no studidept product/service (yearbook or Polo production is acquired by the Class, a one time payment of N70,000 shall be required upon the graduation of the class in other to maintain the e-class as their Alumni webpage.

E-CLASSROOM: We set up an E-classroom for classes absolutely free during the undergraduate year and this will be maintained as the Alumni website of the Class after graduation . The e-classroom is used by clever class governors of Class reps to aid class management. The only term we require from the class is to undertake either the Class yearbook or polo or both upon the class graduation. Student can from time to time edit their profile when their status changes thus staying in touch with their colleagues.

The benefit of your E-classroom;
- You get to know the current profile of your classmate and Vice versa at any point in time
- You will be enlisted in the E-Yearbook which will be available for download by members of your class and which we shall use to prepare the Hard copy of the yearbook towards the end of your academic program.

Studidept Academic Session begins every 1st of January. In a case where a Rep turns down the offer of the Position of a Rep, it is automatically given to the next. Until the Third person refutes the position, Studidept cannot appoint a Rep for a domain university.
