Good evening, great people.

I'm a 200 Level Chemistry student of a Nigerian university.

Initially, Chemistry was not my chosen course. My course was changed because I couldn't meet up the required mark for my desired course.

Meanwhile, my school just released the Intra-University transfer form and my desired department is not accepting any transfer student.

So I'm thinking of crossing to computer science (I really love ICT) because I'm not really good in Chemistry and I don't want to graduate with a bad grade.

I know chemistry is a good course and has a good prospect in Nigeria labor market but the course is just too complex for my brain to comprehend.

Please, I want your advise: should I cross to Computer Science department (I'm learning a Tech skill already) or I should stay in my present department (Chemistry) and rough it till the end.

To be on the safer side, you need to target at least a score of 220 and above in JAMB so as for you to have a high chance of gaining admission into the Ladoke Akintola University Of Technology to study Nursing Science.

My sister and I have connections at OAU SON, because our parents are staff of the teaching hospital. So I might say that actually gives us a bit of edge over other neutral candidates.

That's where we find ourselves in these country, na who no who the door dey open for faster. Just prepare well for the p.utme, so that you can meet the cut off mark and hope God crowns ur effort with an unprecedented success.
What I can assure you is if by the time you finally enter uni to study nursing, you might encounter ups and downs, strike here and there, but once you graduate, you won't even suffer looking for job like other graduates. Even sef on your convocation ceremony day you will look back and it would be as if it was yesterday you gained the admission, all the stress of attending a public university in NIGERIA would be finally forgotten.

See, the person who created this trend, that scored 231 in UTME and still insist on going to the uni, should dust his/her books and prepare to score not less than 85/100 in post UTME. Bearing in mind to have minimum a 4 A's and 1 B. Or A although. Else your UTME score is a waste.

I can actually give in my best concerning the Post UTME part, but my fear is that courses like Nursing is about who you know in Nigeria Universities.

If you not careful, Last lass you go just miss your admission again. Just pick either OAU or UI teaching hospital complex (school of nursing), 4years degree course, full of practical experience that makes one confident in oneself as a certified nurse. School fee is #150,000 per session, the form is out. It's just #12k. They are not under ASUU. And you have a better prospect of traveling out to the UK for practice once you are able to pass the conversion exam.
It's not everybody that must go to university,
University isn't for everyone.
I wasted 7 year studying that yeye cramming course called pharmacy in OAU. See nursing has better prospect once you leave the tertiary institution and join the labour market. See Nurse's are hot cakes not like iranu pharmacy.

I've tried FCT-SON before, I sat for their entrance exam, they didn't release our results. The school just release admission list. I was not admitted. (But now, I'm not interested in SON again cause I will eventually want to go back for my BNSc at the end of the day)


Even my friend that went to a private SON has gone back to the university for her degree through DE.

I don't want to pass through the stress of going to SON, then going to university again.
