Business / Re: Friends Abroad, Are You Happy With Naira Appreciation? by groovvyy: 2:43am On Apr 11 |
Why should Nigerians abroad be concerned about that? At 1000 per dollar, you send $100 to Nigeria to do certain things. That's 100,000 naira. Then the exchange rate goes to 1500 per dollar. You want to do those same things, and they tell you that you can't do it for 100,000 naira again because things are now more expensive due to the exchange rate. To do those things now, you need 150,000 naira. That means you then need to convert $100 to naira to afford that thing. Now, the exchange rate goes back to 1000 per dollar. To do that particular thing again, the price will come back to 100,000 naira. Then you need to convert $100 to get 100,000 naira to get it done. In all cases, you have spent $100. Your purchasing power has neither increased nor decreased, but just the figures changing. And if the prices of things haven't come down yet, just wait. Prices are gradually coming down and will be back to where it was when the dollar was selling for 1000. 3 Likes |

Zackattack: lol... Firstly, ask those working multiple hours to return to Nigeria, and they will tell you "No". Secondly, in the UK, I'm currently only doing about 10 percent of how much work I did in Nigeria. However, I'm saving ten times more than I could in Nigeria, after eating better and living a better quality life. Your children will even have access to education at no cost. You'll also have access to good healthcare at no cost. It's important to note that it is not everyone that works long hours. Each situation is unique and may not apply universally. 1 Like |

I just hope this won't have a negative effect on visa approval rate. Nigerians just like to act irrationally. You know you did something illegal, yet you are announcing it to the world. That's shamelessness. I pray they don't block the way for other reasonable people still in the process of application. 1 Like |

Fiendishly: Actually, your resumption is subject to the approval of your visa. You can communicate with your employer, telling them about the delay you have in getting your visa approved (you likely already did this). Then print the correspondence and keep it close to you. If they say anything about it at POE, you can briefly explain that you already informed your employer about the delay and show them the print out God go help us. 2 Likes |

So you mean 48 hours is not long enough to review your offer letter? You can make a decision within 12 hours if you are serious minded. 8 Likes |

Jokuns1: Look for their email address on their website and send an email to them, asking to be booked for an appointment. You can also mention how soon you want it done. They will reply within 24 hours with a date and time for you, and payment instructions. You will not be allowed in without an evidence that you were booked for that day and time. |

Please o everybody. I have a quick question. I am kinda new to the whole thing. The work start date on my Cos is April 22, 2024. Does it mean if I apply now and the Visa is granted, I will not be able to enter the UK before April 2024? Secondly, is the Visa they're giving single or multiple entry? Because it is indicated on the cos that I don't need to leave and reenter the UK during the period of approval. The cos is for 5yrs |

Kevineleven: Bro, I can understand where you are coming from. It's irritating and disgusting to read about those dehumanising acts in your comment alone, not to talk of when someone actually engages in them. But the image in the OP is just as demeaning. On her mental health, it may be highly damaging. Her self-worth drops greatly (if she had any before the act). It might result in depressive, humiliating and hopeless emotions. |

The two of them are idiots. But I can't understand why many ladies have high level of inferiority complex. I mean, why would someone allow anybody do this to her? With all the shakara she will be doing outside of the room. The pic/act is annoying. 7 Likes 1 Share |
