The largest mussliem populastion in SA is in cape town by the way. Durban is zulu and indian.

SA has no threat of islamic terrorism. I dont see it happening anytime soon.

You will only invite them if you want to project power (which you cant)

muslims in SA are not large enough to pull a political power. Thats not the case with Nigeria

Romance / Ladies, Get An Insight Into The Heart Of A Man. by gst101: 6:07pm On Sep 22, 2013
ladies, what this guy said in this interview is absolutely true at least in my own case.

Men, have you ever experienced this too?

One-On-One w/ Brother X
Ebony S. Muhammad (EM): When a
man is ready to be serious in a
romantic relationship, and he has
never been in love before, what is
his approach and overall feeling
about that relationship?
Brother X (BX): I will start by
speaking generally. Falling in love is
something natural to human
beings; it has a purpose behind it.
It’s something that is taken with
no hesitation. It’s similar to a child
who plays; that child knows no
danger. It’s a beautiful thing.
They’re fearless in what they do.
They jump off of anything and they
play hard. So it’s the same naturally
with men that experience love for
the first time.
Personally speaking, the initial
feeling or experience is met with
excitement tapered with anxiety.
It’s exciting, because for me
personally growing up all
relationships for me was the door
the marriage. I looked forward to
getting married at a very young
age.
I think on that end as far as my
feelings of love, being young
without knowing hurt, that was
my overall view on relationships. I
was going to fall in love and we
were going to be together until I
got out of school and then after I
got out of school we were going
to get married.
EM: What do you think are the top
3 reasons or ways a man’s heart
can be broken? What are some
common mistakes women make or
details women do not consider
when it comes to the emotions of
a man?
BX: The male ego is so large;
therefore, most of what happens
that directly affects a man has to
do with how badly it affects the
male ego. Those three mystery
things:
A woman’s language that she uses,
especially to a man that is insecure
or new in love. This can be
crushing to a man in that situation.
Because of the large male ego
Minister Farrakhan refers to the
tongue as a sword and the female
has the sharpest sword.
A mistake/mis-step that women
make is being unsupportive. The
nature of a man is to be one of a
maintainer, a creator and of a
protector. Therefore, when a man
is doing those things and there is
not adequate support from the
number one person that he’s
doing it for then the man starts to
feel worthless. Once the man
begins to feel worthless then that
is the starting point of the death of
the relationship. If you have a
vehicle that needs to be
maintained and the maintainer is
feeling as if though what he is
doing is worthless, he starts to
slack in his duty, he starts to do
less and eventually gets to the
point where he not doing it at all
then the engine will start to
encounter major problems which
will lead to the complete seize of
the engine.
The way a man’s heart can be
broken is through betrayal.
Betrayal comes when there is a
boundary of trust, kind of like a
fence, and when a woman steps
out of that boundary, to us, that is
that betrayal. The betrayal can
come through many forms and
hurt different men at different
degrees. Something small to one
man might be enormous to the
other man. A lot of times this is
determined by childhood or
previous situations or incidents
that have not been cleared from
the reactive mind. Therefore,
regardless to what it is it has
restimulated something of hurt in
the man that ties back to
something in his past whether he
knows it or not. The bottom line is
betrayal hurts men, and men don’t
like to be hurt and especially don’t
like for others to know that he’s
hurt.
EM: What exactly happens to a man
emotionally, physically and
psychologically when he
experiences the pain of a broken
heart? What are some things most
men won’t admit when it comes to
the above?
BX: Emotionally, the initial pain that
a man experiences when he’s hurt
for the first time, I would relate it
to the new student in the Dojo that
gets hit in the chest really hard for
the first time. From a young boy’s
perspective, he wants to fall to the
ground in pain because of the
shock of the blow and the pain of
the strike. He wants to fall down
and cry, but his ego interferes with
that.
Psychologically that would become
what Scientology would refer to as
an Engram. It is that first Engram
that paves a road as it relates to
love and relationships for the rest
of his life unless it (the Engram) is
removed. It’s not just the pain but
the psychological effect that it
causes.
Physically, what happens to a man
or young man when he gets his
heart broken for the first time, I
would say that the first thing
would be withdrawal because
that’s what we do by nature when
pain is experienced. We withdraw
from it, because pain is not
favorable experience for anyone.
The second thing is anger
demonstrated or expressed in a lot
of ways. Physically, verbally or
inflicted upon himself. Anxiety is
also experienced.
EM: What is the recovery process
like? What do men do to regain
themselves and do they fully
recover from a broken heart?
BX: In my humble opinion, a man’s
way of recovering from a broken
heart is to go rent a tracker, dig a
50 ft hole and bury the emotional
hurt in the ground. Because of the
male’s ego it is extremely difficult
for him to face, confront and
resolve his emotional hurt. That’s
why it is easier for him to bury it
with the hope that it won’t arise
anymore. However, the reality of
the situation is that the pain is still,
there and while he might have
thought that he buried it 50 ft
below the surface a lot of times it’s
like 1 or 2 feet, and all that is
required to bring it back to
present time is a kick of the dirt.
The final solution to mending a
man’s broken heart is not the
burying of the emotional pain but
the dissolving of the pain. An
effective way of dissolving that
pain is through Dianetics. In a
process called Auditing the initial
hurt can be alleviated, otherwise,
by not addressing it this could be
the catalyst for the continuation of
the emotional pain.
Through prayer, faith and Dianetics
you can have a new man.
EM: Thank you for sharing so much
and for giving a great deal of
insight into the mind and heart of
a man.
BX: No problem sis, it is an honor

I'll keep seeing it as a tool created by men to keep women surpressed.
Anyway it ends up killing them(the men)instead.
So much for their smartness grin
Lmao.

yes, i agree the laws are not too fair to women. But like i said on page 4, the laws can be amended to include punishment for adultrous men. The Alekwu thing is very organic. It has always being amended with time.

As for "so much for their smartness", the living members of the family are the ones who decided what the Alekwu would do and what it will not do. So you can see that it was deliberately done that i should be the one to bear the consequencies my wife is cheating and i refuse to do anything about it.

to them, civilization means high rise building, fancy cars, a society ruled by a philosophy of realism, scientifism (is there is any word as such) and a disgusting and senseless arrogance towards the ancient and traditional.
Nairaland / General / Re: Cheating Couple Forced To Walk Unclad In Benue State by gst101: 12:27pm On Sep 22, 2013
@peterphd this Alekwu tradition is even more merciful than the civil law is. If anyone cheats or steals, it doesnt mean you will die. Infact, the Alekwu does not kill you becos you stole or you were unfaithful. It kills becos you did not OWN UP to your misdeeds. At first, when the Alekwu strikes you with illness, those who know the symptoms will tell you that theis sickness isnt ordinary. They will also ask you if you have done any of the prohibited. If you say yes, the Alekwu will leave you automatically! It is only when you do not own up that you will die

@peterphd solomon 111 has got good points.

You can argue that this sort of tradition as well as polygamy, brings something to the table and is not selfish. But what does Homosexuality brings to the table? How is it generous? What kind of agent of socialization is same sexxx marriage?

Someone being gay doesn't in anyway affect your own sexuality.live and let live. You aren't idoma I guess so you probably don't know what it means for children to be killed for something their parents did or for parents to be killed and children left orphaned...stop the insults and think.

as for the children being killed, that i think, should be left out.

Reading through your post, i get the feeling that you are a bit suspecious becos the death has got to do with something spiritual if not, you wouldnt have asked if it is fair for children to be orphaned becos of what their parent did or did not do.

To explain further: why dont you traffic drugs to malaysia and be cought and put to death by the law. when that happens, your children will be orphaned. But you are not going to ask if it is fair for the children to be orphaned just becos of what you did, are you? But becos this is spiritual is the reason for your suspecion.

I blame christianity and Nollywood who constantly present African spirituality in a negative way

I mean isn't it possible for one from such a place to escape this potential death trap e.g avoiding traditional marriage to escape the alekwu at least in his family?

if you do not want to be part of it, you can pull out (that is if you were even part of it at all). You just need to offer some sacrifices (depending on the law of your family) and wash your hands off it completely. This sacrifice you are going to offer does not require a human head or your 'star' like some uninformed christians, who are ruled by fear, would tell you.

like i said, the Alekwu only follows that which the people agree on. If they want to include laws to punish corrupt politicians, they can include it. But keep in mind that the Nigerian state is a secular one and bringing Alekwu into it would amount to establishing a state religion.

As for thieves, if they refuse to own up to the crime, the Family would bring Alekwu and they will "ch'okele" in the family/village. If the thief doest own up, he will die.
Nairaland / General / Re: Cheating Couple Forced To Walk Unclad In Benue State by gst101: 9:22am On Sep 22, 2013
@peterphd i agree that it is sometimes used to exert dominance. But if you are going to condemn them for this flaw, then you can also condemn all things that exist and has being abused! You can start with the Judeo-christian tradition.

In the bible, we have a similar thing. When a woman comits adultery, she is draged out and stoned to death. Jesus actually knew of it and saw it happen. The bible talks somuch about female infidelity but not male infidelity. So the bible can be accused of the same male dominance
Nairaland / General / Re: Cheating Couple Forced To Walk Unclad In Benue State by gst101: 8:40am On Sep 22, 2013
@peterphd i am not pretending that every thing is right. If the woman cheats and her husband knows about it but didnt do anything, and the husband gets punished. This isnt to say that the woman is 'left alone'.

In that society (the old one), a woman who does such a thing that leads to her husband's death is stigmatzed. Such stigmatization is sever enough to be a punishment. So you can see she is not absolutely 'left alone'.

The man on the other hand deserves his punishment becos he knew of his wife's infedelity but did nothing about it. He condoned it! We all know what a threat to the well being of the family infidelity is.

I agree the children should be left out of it. But like i said, its beauty is in its flexibility. What the spirits work with is what the living members of the family agreed on
Nairaland / General / Re: Cheating Couple Forced To Walk Unclad In Benue State by gst101: 6:48am On Sep 22, 2013
if a woman is cheating and the man knows about but didnt do anything, the Alekwu will go after the man for the fact that he knew of it and didnt do anything and continued to eat her food.

I wonder whats wrong with punishing people if they did something wrong. The christians saying all sort of rubb!sh about this tradition are only filled with hate for an African spirituality they know nothing about!
Nairaland / General / Re: Cheating Couple Forced To Walk Unclad In Benue State by gst101: 6:37am On Sep 22, 2013
i can see people are making coments about what they know nothing about. This isnt too suprising anyway becos they are of the background of the Abrahamic religions. They are fed by their ignorant pastors on issues that have to do with African spirituality.

Alekwu actually means 'spirit'- spirit of the Ancestors, if you like.
It works this way: every clan/family has ancestors. The living members of the families come together and take a decision on several issues and they seal it up with the ancestors. This means that it is what the living members want that the ancestors execute.

As for the walking naked on the street, i am very sure that the Alekwu did not demand that. I think it is the people that did that as a result of their anger.

The beautiful thing about the Alekwu tradition is that it is very flexible. This means, as time passes, things could becomes unnecessary and the living members of the family can amend the laws and make it reflect the modern time.
