It's a nice lecture here,but dnt you think it would have been better if you start with Joomla! 2.5,since 3.0 is a more higher version,and most hosting server can not host Joomla 3.0 becos of it high PHP requirement,I still tell you 2.5 is still invoke it has got a loads of extensions,3.5 extensions are just rolling in bit by bit,think about it. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

You have to understand one thing here,joomla is the fastest growing CMS which you can easily build either offline or directly on ya server,I no the joy of writing Semantic mark up languages(using HTML5,Javascript,PHP),but my frnd the truth is that it's an advantage to those who can write their own code and as well knws how to use CMS,I can drupal,Wordpress,Joomla,Javascript...but when I got a job with a software company as a webmaster my first project was build a web portal for a board of internal revenue,the project was to be done by html5 and Javascript(pure html huh),I have to use what I knw to succeed,so I get a good code editor and I begin. Building your CMS will definetly not be so easy and fast,but it is attainable a good webmaster can build is frontend and backend with dreamweaver within two weeks. Thats thru Joomla can be done even by kids as far they understand how to create an article,working with modules,uploading images...is not a big deal,but go try that with drupal,u will understand drupal is for developers and not for play.PLsss go on with class is a nice thing you're doing. dannyokec: Please biko I need your help webmasters am setting up a mini social site with cs5 dream weaver this my plight I created a form a contact form with a submit button at the bottom of the form so that when my visitors are done with feeling their details they can submit I tried it on all my web browsers but each time I click submit microsoft outlook opens I tried it on my blackberry I was diverted to a blank compose email page with my email as send to my question is this how do I configure my submit button I want a configuration in which my when my submit button is clicked it automatically collect save and send my visitors details to my email with taking them to a blank compose email page Well what I see is that you have not configure the contact form properly!,normally ur visitor enter their msg on d contact form and they click on send which suppose to redirect to a page and not outlook or blank compose page. My suggestion is that you re-configure the redirection page so that when ur visitor click on send they will see a message like "Thank you for contacting us" or your message was sent successfully. Next you have to set the contact mail which you will use to receive the message it can be .gmail or yahoomail,I dnt knw if you re using cPanel or if ur site is uploaded directly into d server. Just reconfigure the redirection page and everything will be fine,can u drop the Url of the site u're talking about so that I see. |

mitey: Ask the client for the first email sent by the host on registration for hosting. Thanks for ya sugestion i hapen to check the previous file of the site and bash into the .php where i was able to detect the db,pw n td prefix. Thanks For Ya Suggestions. |

Recently i found out a client has a hosting account with networksolutions and i have the task of restructuring the site into a CMS and i decided to use joomla,i built the site offline and i did my backup with Akeeba.When it was time to upload the site i hapen to find out there is nothing like a control panel hence i have no data base to work with during akeeba restoration process.My Client has no clue to the db or pw even the table prefix_,and remember joomla always runs in a db with tbl prefix and a pw. [size=20pt]What Would You Do in a case like this?,were u just to upload the site thru FTP and only for u to be stop in the process during Akeeba Restoration Process.[/size][i][/i] |

Hi ,I would recommend you use BT Education or possibly u can use the joomla shine template.But If i were u i will go with the BT Education and install a form component,where u build the precise form u want,maybe u cud try it. |

schneid: Thanks. It actually ddnt work on d remote, d reason I askd u b4. One of the other method which I presume is changing the configuration file should work though I hvnt tried it. Is d one u hv different frm the one at doc.joomla.org? Remote server is different frm ya localhost!...but i will hav to keep this remote server admin override tech... since one cud do a lot of damage to ppl site. |

Xorenxo: Please will any website designer with experience save me from the oppression of www.GoDaddy.com. Login in to godaddy with ya username n password,click on ya domain name,now frm the top menu look for manage domain click on it,u will see custom domain cpanel,now look for the option Nameserver or manage DNS record,click on it now enter the nameserver that was given to u by godaddy this is usually in form of ns.192welcome.com and ns193.welcome.com,ensure to enter the name server given to u by godaddy save change and wait for like 12hrs for it to resolve after which u can enter ur hosting cpanel and start messing around ya file manager and creating ur mysql db. Filezilla client canot b supported in this case.  |

gu7S05: I have noticed that Coffee cup dnt have any extension for drop down menu/sucker fish.Just to avoid displaying too many absolute menu at ur header it wud be of an advantage if one cud possibly hide these menu under the absolute menu hence giving a dropdown menu pattern.Any Suggestion!,my fellow developers cud offer wud be nice. Let me guest,no body develop site here are part frm using content management system like joomla,drupal or wordpress template,thaz not cool. gu7S05: How To Change Admin Password in Joomla From Locahost! To Do This You Need to Harsh the previous password by creating a new password from PhpMyadmin 1.Enter localhost on ur url 2.Go to PhpMyadmin 3.Click on the Database Name 4.Find table prefix with jos_users(depend on the name of ur table prefix)on ur right hand side 5.Point to edith and click on it 6.Select Super User 7.Look for password field clear every code on it and type in ya new password 8.Select MD5 from the field password on ya left hand side. 9.click go 10.Notice that you will find two super users,reapt the same step for the other super user 11.Now type localhost/place d name of ya site here e.g localhost/gurup/administrator/ them press enter 12.put in the new password u just created from phpmyadmin 13.As soon as u enter ur joomla backend go to user manager and enter the new password again save n close. |

tinko042: i will like to now how to protect my website from subsequent hacking?? most of my joomla websites i hosted with www.qservers.net has been under attack while 9jahosting.com is a disgrace. Now u can see The importance of ur hosting server Network Security!...an attacker targets ur website via ur hosting server after mapping/footprinting and see two options to shell ur server and overide ur account detials,set access in configuration.php,scan ports and $bash_... My advice to u is that purchase ur hosting from reputable host provider like hostgator.com,kigitalhosting.com,godaddy.com Change ur name server frm ur qservers domian name cpanel and stop worying abt hackers. |

ojimma: ofcourse I hv been using some css free templates, just need a fantastic image gallery for my site. If that is the case,what u need is a component not a template,download image gallery component[extension.joomla.org]and install it, place it on d rite module position that is if u're using joomla or wordpress.And ya gallery will be up,just like work in the park. |

ojimma: Hi, peeps where can I get a good image gallery template for my fashion design website.N:B free ones(need ur urgent rely). Dude u can get responsive joomla template for free @ joomla24.org.But my question is can u override the template?,can u find the ur modules and component.? Most free template has a lot of problem unless u're gud in overriding them u get a load of em at joomla24.org Since its a free template,ur can have a gallery component frm extension.joomla.org,non-commercial. |

Yeah its possible,but u need to specify the platform of web design u're using,I mean was ur website site created with Dreamweaver/Content Management System(e.g: Joomla,Wordpress,Drupal,Magneto),or did u use coffee cup html editor?! The best way out is for u to have a html executable,follow a simple step,by creating a stand alone project,export ur index file only[index.html] frm ur root folder...after entering all other specification for ur project,save as,u will notice it will appear on ur desktop, click to run the program. I have successfully made an executable program using html code,it has features like serial key,licence number and validity period.No need of passing thru d hurdles of syntax error!...besides you're using VB,it wud hav been more easier if u were using delphi IDE.
