I contacted the person that used ces, she said lawyers are supposed to attach their call to bar certificate and qualifying certificate too, even though ces doesnt assess it cuz they usually refund the money paid for it, they need to see it to be sure that you are licensed to practice law. I have sent mine now and I'm hopeful they'll reevaluate mine. Thanks

You would have to look for someone who graduated from a uk university. There are factors considered before the evaluation of a degree and probably your uni didn’t meet.

Wes (at at the last time I checked) evaluates LLB from India universities as a professional degree while that from Nigeria is evaluated as bachelors.

I also do not think adding documents gotten from another country and evaluated as professional degree helps your case because the factors involved are totally different.

Okay. All the best in your appeal.
What was the duration of the LLB program?

Let me point this here: LLB are not evaluated as Master's degree, but as a Professional degree, though both have the same point in Express entry.

Make person wet get LLB no go dey tell people say CES don dash am Master's degree.

The problem is the discretion of the individual assessor. Its a colleague of mine, we both graduated from the uk, same uni, same grade,c hers got professional degree points. Like i said, I'm goingvto be attaching hers too, blurring out her name and sensitive details. Thats why we are lawyers, we argue with facts, not sentiments. Itbis also stated on ircc website, that degrees like law, medicine, etc would get points for masters.

No, the first appeal is free, they said i should send an email within 30days of getting my report if im dissatisfied. After the first appeal, if youre still dissatisfied, then you write officially and pay $199. I graduated from uk. I believe this is a mistake from the individual assessor. I'll be attaching reports of previous assessments of other people who recently got their llb evaluated as a masters by ces. Im positive theyll change it.

Really sorry to hear this. What school did you graduate from.

To appeal, follow here: https://learn.utoronto.ca/comparative-education-service/about-ces/fees-and-additional-forms and click on ECA Decision Appeal

It cost $199 to appeal and I don't know how long it takes. I also understand that it's an exhaustive process - https://learn.utoronto.ca/comparative-education-service/about-ces/terms-conditions

You should start an ECA with IQAS while appealing your CES ECA.

Ruthiegal:
Omo, thank God I still decided to use IQAS despite using CES to avoid disappointment.
Chai. Sorry ehn. Still waiting for both though as I was only able to sort out IQAS last month.

Good day dear, im really devastated, got my llb evaluation from ces today and they gave me bachelor's degree. Please can you send me a screenshot of yours and crop out sensitive information. I want to appeal it please. Im really sad. Thanks in advance.

Ebuncrown:
Dear Lawyers,

CES evaluated my LLB as a PROFESSIONAL DEGREE.

So I started my evaluation January 2020 because IQAS was on a break and I don’t have a masters. I called CES to ask how they evaluate LLB and I wasn’t given any conclusive answer and was asked to make my application. I decided to go with CES since WES and LLB are enemies.

I paid 420CAD to evaluate both LLB and BL degree so I as to get points for 2 or more degrees. My application was submitted January 8th, transcript received February 24th and then COVID happened. I totally forgot about the application and started the process all over with IQAS. Finally scaled through transcript phase but “fortunately” I haven’t been able to pay for IQAS due to the daily limit and dollar limit issue.( which is now a blessing )

November 10th, CES sent me a mail saying they can’t assess my BL as it was outside their scope of evaluation and my 210CAD would be refunded within 2 weeks. It is was refunded 3days later.

I got the email with a soft copy of my evaluation and First professional degree in Law was staring right at me. So it was worth the wait. If you are patient enough and IQAS is wasting your time, you can go ahead evaluate your LLB degree with CES.
