Mr xfire and all our mentors in the house, I really commend your tireless efforts to ensure that everyone of us have the right tools to boost our career endeavors. May God continue to crown your efforts with brilliant success.

I am a graduate of mech. Engn and i currently work as a proccess operator in an indigenous waste management firm. I've been there for almost 2years now but because of the unstable conditions surrounding my job, i never stopped trying other options. I recently got a welding training program with Samsung heavy industries Nigeria under the supervision of NCDMB but it hasn't commenced yet. From the info i gathered, the training would be for a period of 3months after which there's no certainty of getting employed with them.
Kindly advice me on what to do because if i quit my job for the training, there's no certainty of being employed there even though the monthly stipend for the training is quite higher than what i earn at my work place. And also, the welding training, i believe is an opportunity to learn a vital skill which no one would want to miss.

Thanks.

From the information provided earlier, its an indication that's the program is in batches. So if you haven't been called yet, there's possibility that you might be called in subsequent batches. Lets keep up the hope. May God bless our hustles.

It's actually N450k for the 3 months. N150k per month. You'll have to fend for your accommodation and transportation

Thanks much for the information. Do you know if there's any other thing after the 3 months training?

When is the result of the test coming out ? 'cos I also wrote. Someone working with NCDMB told me 27th March. Has anyone received a message from them?

I'm not sure anyone has been contacted yet. Maybe they would begin to send messages by 27th March as you have stated. Let's keep hoping for the best.

yes, I wrote the test...... but don't know what to expect......

I recently read on online newspaper that successful candidates will be working on the proposed $3.8B Egina FPSO vessel project awarded to Samsung Heavy industries in Nigeria.

Really, that's a nice one. Thanks bro.
May God grant us the best. Wish us all success in our endeavors.

bro I was able ooo but i was the last person to write around 3:30pm,I had to explain my ordeal even showing prove of my bus ticket .Thank God

Congrats. I'm happy you could meet up. Please, in case of next time, try to plan to always arrive at test/interview location a day prior to the activity to avoid being in tight corner such as this. By so doing, you will have some time to relax and program yourself to the required mood. Doing things under tension could be costly.

Wish you and everyone all the best. Rest well and safe trip back to your various destinations.

There are different training programs undertaking by NCDMB in collaboration with IOCs, other Oil and Gas firms and also with related companies unbehalf of the Federal Govt initiated by the Government of fmr President Goodluck Jonathan. Since the assessment you guys did was in the area of welding, I'm certain it's for the project I mentioned earlier except there are other projects they are considering.

Anyway I wish u goodluck

Alright sir, Thanks much, I really appreciate.

God bless our hustle....

Ok. I no vex again cos u gat good manners. I guess this one you guys just did was for those with ND, I may be wrong tho.

It's a minimum three months training program in South Korea. You won't be retained. After the training, you're suppose to come back to Nigeria and work in an NLNG co-funded multi-million dollars shipyard development and building project in Badagary, Lagos. Unfortunately the project hasn't commence because of a big issue with Niger Delta that stalled it commencement. They are saying the project must be sited in the Niger Delta

Thanks for the info.
I'm actually a B. Eng holder but I'm not sure if it's same with others too or mixed. And as for the NLNG project, I know some guys were sent there for training some time ago which was specifically sponsored by NLNG, but I'm not sure if this one has any connection with NLNG. Maybe it is, maybe not. I guess with time we'd get to know.

I heard some people were invited for assessment by Agip last December for a training program also based on nomination by NCDMB.

LOOOOOOOL

Una blood dey hott ooo.

Oya no vex biko. The truth of the matter is that it wasn't as if there was a recruitment process to apply through. I registered with NCDMB since 2015 and suddenly got invite stating that I have been nominated by NCDMB to participate in a training program. So it's actually not my fault that i got the invite.

Bros, you too, No be as you think am oo.

You guys should try to get registered on NCDMB portal too. It's not too late as they select people randomly and attach to different companies from time to time. Just google am, it's not hard to find.

All the best.

For those asking of what to expect of the aptitude test, after practicing your usual GMATS, make sure you revise the basics of your O level subjects aswell (e.g physics, chemistry e.t.c). Also take note of the laws and basic principles. The last one conducted 2 years ago caught a lot of people unaware. Just try not to limit yourself to just GMATS or SHLs.

I wish you guys all the best.

Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria(SHIN) conducted a selection assessment on Wednesday, 8th of March, 2017 @ the Federal Place Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The assessment is for a welding training program to be organized by SHIN under the supervision of Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

200 candidates were invited for the assessment but not everyone was present.

I'd like to know if anyone has an idea of what to expect in the training, for how long the training would be and the feasibility of being retained after the training.

May God Almighty bless our hustles.

We ain't bothered. Because even Koran stated that "if you find anything confusing here, you can ask those who read the bible. The truth is already revealing that"

Jesus was the only person that performed miracles in the koran. Muhammad was busy leading his followers to various wars, till he died.

The only woman mentioned in the koran is Marian"mary(the mother of jesus)
Koran said she went to heaven with her physical body. Meaning the assumption of the blessed virgin is written in the koran.

You people should come down from your high horses let me educate you about the koran you studied and didn't understand since you were kids.

Lots of Muslims converts to Christianity on daily basis, so cut the crap!!!

Koran said Muhammad is dead. And won't rise again.
Same koran said Jesus is the word of God.
And koran said God created the world through the word(Jesus).
They er just confused being. Surely they need our prayers...

Peace!!!
