Since the telecommunication sector was deregulated in 2000 and so far, it has had a ripple effect in almost every facet of our lives and other sectors. Today, 8 out of 10 Nigerians own phones and not just any phone but smartphones with the internet.

Hence, there is no argument that mobile phones have contributed so much to the development of Nigeria. Jumia Travel, shares 5 ways mobile phones have changed Nigeria.Mobile Banking
You don’t need to visit the bank anymore to send money. Just fiddling with a few B.uttons on your phone, you can transfer money to your friends, family and loved ones within seconds. But if you don’t like the extra charges involved, you should just go the traditional way by going to the bank!

Health
With the war against counterfeit drugs intensifying in Nigeria, you can now send text messages on your phone to confirm if your drug is fake or not. So, you don’t need to worry anymore about the drugs you purchase. Despite this, don’t throw caution to the wind.

Entertainment
Although mobile phones have made it easier for users to access movies and movies without paying, it has simplified the distribution of songs and movies. You can upload your songs and videos on YouTube and interested Nigerians can listen and download. Also, there are music and video streaming sites where users can buy your content.

Employment
This is one of the most obvious impact mobile phones is having in Nigeria. There are prepaid card sellers all over the place and many Nigerians have been employed by mobile telecommunication companies.

Education
Not everyone owns personal computers but with their mobile phones they can access download online textbooks, and access e-liB.raries as well as have access to research materials. Hence, you don’t necessarily need to have PC to educate yourself and embark on research.

Celebrities / Stop Dulling! Here Are 5 Super Reasons You Should See ‘a Trip To Jamaica’ by Hajiboyer0(m): 8:52am On Oct 09, 2016
If you’ve not seen ‘A Trip To Jamaica‘ featuring Ay and Funke Akindele quickly give yourself like three slaps. Now that you’ve slapped yourself call a few of your friends and tell them that all of you are going to the Cinema tomorrow to see the movie.

Greennews.ng’s Daniel Fayemi and Opeyemi Famakin decided to go see the movie for themselves yesterday after all the hype the movie has generated since it started showing at the cinemas nationwide and they had more fun than what they bargained for.

These writers are usually not the types to go to the cinema to watch Nollywood movies because… well we all know why, but this movie was worth every kobo (even though Silvebird collected N1,500 instead of the N1,000 written on the ad).

Following their enjoyable experience at the Silverbird Cinema, Ikeja City Mall , Lagos yesterday, Daniel and Ope lists 5 reasons everyone who loves enjoyment should make seeing the movie a high priority.

IT’S NOTHING LIKE YOU’VE EVER SEEN BEFORE: You know how most Nollywood movies are Jampacked witch cliché’s and loads of predictable action, it is a guarantee you that this movie is nothing of the sorts. If you saw the first sequel 30 Days in Atlanta then you can be rest assured that this second part is even more gangsta.

THE COMEDY IS BADASS: Please do not go into the cinema hall with a full bladder because chances are you’re going to pee on yourself while watching that movie. The movie was a complete buffoonery with a solid story line, God will bless the person who birthed the idea of adding Funke Akindele to the cast because the combo of her and Ay Makun was just hilarious. The beautiful thing about this comedy is that all Nigerians would get the punchline and even West Africans and African in general would enjoy it. Then again the first sequel won us a space in the Guinness book of record so what else were you expecting?

THE QUALITY OF THE MOVIE IS GRADE A: Not to start mentioning names but some of these new urban Nigerian movies use quality cameras to shoot with a great sound effect but the story line is minus four over ten. Apparently that’s not the case in this movie, in short the storyline is better than the camera and audio quality (which has no faults by the way).

ANY ONE CAN WATCH IT: From our fathers, to our three year old kids and to even Pastors and priests who might be forming holy holy, this movie can be watched and enjoyed by all with little to no nudity, and almost no violence. The main seller of this movie is the story line which can be enjoyed by all ages and the comedy isn’t too adultish. If you’re thinking of going on a family outing where every member of the family would have total fun then it’s highly recommended

EVERYONE ELSE IS WATCHING IT: This is actually the main reason that the greennews guys, (with a couple of ladies) went to see the movie in the first place. When people around you are all making fun with some of the amazing lingo they picked from the movie and you can’t join the conversation. Then you hear that the tickets for the movie is sold out for almost every time it’s showing, then you know there is something about it.

Car Talk / Innoson Motors CEO To Be Honoured By Nigerian Defense Academy (see Photos) by Hajiboyer0(m): 10:55am On Oct 06, 2016
The group chairman and chief executive officer of Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing company, Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma, is set to be conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the Nigerian Defense Academy during the Graduation of the Cadet 63 Regular Course on Thursday (today).
Below is what he shared on his page.

Today, I arrived at the Nigerian Defense Academy and was privileged to be received by the Commandant of the Nigerian Defense Academy, Major General M. T. IB.rahim. The Nigerian Defense Academy will confer on me tomorrow October 6th, an Honorary Doctorate Degree during the Graduation of the Cadet 63 Regular Course.

Indeed, I was very surprised when I first received a letter from them for this honour because I did not know much about the academy neither do I know the Commandant or any of their academy administrators. The commandant said to me today that they decided to do a search for a Distinguished Nigerian to bestow such honour and my name came top. This to me is reward to hardwork and absolute faith in Nigeria no matter the odds we face and I want to encourage every one of us to continue working hard and keep faith with our government and Nigeria no matter the odds.

To God alone be the glory.
