It is now a norm for security operatives in Nigeria to keep in their custody of any victim they killed. They should just release the corpse of the girl to her family for burial, at least the family would accept their fate. |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why Experience (with No Degree) Should Be More Valuable Than A Degree by hakinz87: 11:35am On Mar 11, 2017 |
You have a good point although your conclusion damage it. Here in Nigeria we raise degree more higher than experience. If you are applying for a Job in any of the western countries with a degree and you don't have any experience in that field, you won't be considered. You can obtain your degree (even with first class) with malpractice or due to your connection to high profile people, does that mean you are good in the Job? In my Engineering company, they employ based on the skills you have, then your certificate is secondary. If you aren't good in practical and you are coming with a 'yeye' first class, you will be embarrassed at the end of the day. 2 Likes |
Politics / Community Resists Amosun’s Demolition Plot As Commissioner Escapes by hakinz87: 7:54am On Feb 19, 2017 |
Residents of Ilugoke community in Iperu Remo, I Kennedy Local Government of Ogun State yesterday resisted an attempt by the Ogun State government to demolish an ongoing borehole project in the community. The Federal Government Constituency intervention borehole project being constructed at the Community was facilitated by the Chairman of House Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, Honourable Oladipupo Adebutu. Mr Wale Oshinowo, Ogun State Commissioner for Finance, who incidentally is an indigene of the community had led some hoodlums to the site in an attempt to demolish the project on the excuse that the contractor handling the project did not obtain proper approval before commencing work but he met stiff resistance in the people of the community. Mr. Oshinowo had to abandon the plot and flee the scene as many restive youths were threatening to mob him. Some residents of the community who spoke with our correspondent rained abuses on the commissioner and the APC government which they described as “insensitive and too destructive”. A community leader, the Oloritun of Ilugoke, Chief Ali Fatoye wondered why a government that never did any project for the people of the community would find joy in destroying a project that is supposed to make life comfortable for them. According to him, “For the past six years, we have had issue of lack of water, APC government did nothing and now that Honorable Ladi has brought this project to our community, the state government wants to stop it. This is unacceptable.” He lambasted Mr Wale Oshinowo for choosing to be used to suffer his own people. Meanwhile, Honourable Adebutu has described the attempt of the Ogun State government to demolish the borehole project as wicked, childish and immatured. He made this statement on Friday while addressing members of the community who had gathered to express their anger and displeasure on the act of the State government. The lawmaker dismissed Mr Wale Oshinowo’s action as unfortunate and retrogressive. He said that the intervention project was to bring government closer to the people and improve the basic needs of the people. “This project is brought to the constituency so that the people, irrespective of their party affiliations, will have a sense of representation”, he said. Three of such intervention projects have also been cited communities in Sagamu and Remo North Local governments. |

bro, y complaining, y can't u go and establish urself in ur professional line? Degree or HND holder depends on his/her salary. Y can't u be an employer of labour. Those that are condemning u will surely wait till month ending before they can survive. In ur professional field, there is no discrimination, be it engineering, surveying, estate management etc. U can become an Engineer, registered surveyor, chartered accountant, etc., with ur HND and professional certificate. Don't use that as an excuse for ur failure, D SKY IS UR STARTING POINT. |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Polytechnic Graduates Share Your Victimisation/promotion Experience by hakinz87: 10:05am On Jul 11, 2015 |
Polytechnic Graduates are trained of two things ; to work and establish themselves with theskills they have and to be able to defend and work with there certificate anywhere. A Polytechnic student who is hard working and with God's favour always have the upper hand in her field. There are many of them that works with there certificate and also have there own firms ( in fields Like engineering, surveying, architecture, art and designs etc) Most so called BSc holders rely mostly on their certificate only, that's why they run to hell when they are suddenly sack. Don't be discouraged with their comments, follow up ur goals, go for your professional programs and live your life as an achiever. |

Admin, your post is not that true. Make your research on engineering or construction sector and see if they reckon with your BSc certificate. And can you please explain while Polytechnic of Namibia is included in the top 80 higher institution in Africa, while 95% of Nigerian Universities are not there including your own school? |
Education / Re: Hnd/b.sc Holders Discrimination: Irrelevant, Dangerious & Unconstitutional. by hakinz87: 2:05pm On Jul 05, 2015 |
I don't blame you guys that support the discrimination, Nigeria education as already rotten. Go outside Nigeria and see how Polytechnic education is treated with high esteem. Even Polytechnic of Namibia is ranked 79th best higher institution in Africa whereas most of the Nigerian Universities are not there. Even among the so called BSc holders In Nigeria, they still discriminates among themselves. Who also said Polytechnic engineering students can't have the title of Engineers, surveyors etc. Most of you are talking within your view, myopic thinking. Our leaders are corrupt, politics as how taken over every sector. |
