Heat is everything for an easy pain relief.

Get a wheat bag.
You can probably make on out of rice and some fabrics. Or wheat if you have that.
Run it in the microwave for a few minutes and place it on your neck. The head will relax you muscles and relieve some of the pain.

I think for strong pain you'll need something that can take the edge off the worst pain. I might say something like morphine but that drug is not recommended for longer treatments, only to be used during short intense periods of pain relief.
I you're looking for a more natural way of relieving pain I would definitely recommend getting a heat pack or something like that. They can relief pain and retrieve both heat and cold for quite long. I'll drop a link to the place where I got mine:

I found this in a blog post a while back:

"The fabric is fed through and as it travels under the rotary screen the screen turn with the fabric and prints on a continuous loop.
