Nairaland / General / Bbathechase Update: Lovebirds, LK4 And Koketso Evicted! by HAPPENINGS9JA: 7:45pm On Jun 09, 2013
LK4 the 6ft5inches basketballer from Rubies house and South Africa’s Koketso also from Ruby house have been evicted from the BBA The Chase game tonight! This is on the heels of the last eviction last week Sunday which saw Huddah from Kenya and Denzel from Uganda packing their bags and leaving the game for good.

These two were up with Feza, Dillish and Hakeem for eviction but Africa saved them because they definitely found them more entertaining. The game is getting tougher by the week!

Tension had been making the housemates especially those who know they are up for eviction uneasy. Tonight marked the end of the road for LK4 and Koketso as the rest of the housemates buckle up for more fun and inevitable eviction.

The eviction live show started with a performance from Kenya’s Victoria Kimani who thrilled the eager crowd as they looked forward to the deed.

Then IK, the host of the show played back a recap of housemates activities through the week for those who didn’t have a chance to view it.

Oh, and Big Brother caught up with the already evicted housemates Denzel and Huddah who stated how their time in the house was and how they played the game.

Betty as Head of Diamond house says she saved Bolt because he is fun to be around and she revealed that she replaced him with Feza. Feza smiled but who knows how she really felt inside.

Selly, Rubies Head of house also states that she saved Biguesas and replaced him with Koketso.

IK calls LK4 from Ruby house to leave the house and he gives his lady love Koketso a huge hug not knowing she would be joining him on stage while the housemates share some love with him as they bid him goodbye. Maria was in tears but LK4 asked her to desist from it as he walks out of the house.

IK sat with LK4 as he shows his time in the house, after which he sends him off.

IK crossed over again to the house and announced that Koketso had been evicted from the house.

Africa indeed has all the powers in their hands as they can either keep or remove a housemate from the house. Let us see how interesting the game gets as the days roll by.

Talk of when they try to repeat words you say in their own funny way.

A prayer for all those who crave these feelings but are yet to have them: May the good Lord give you a child of your own to bring smiles to your face and have you nurture them to adulthood.

Being a parent is about the best gift aside from life God has given mankind.

Romance / X-rated: Anna And Soji's Story (2) by HAPPENINGS9JA: 12:28pm On Apr 15, 2013
It's too lengthy hence the cutting... Bear with me!

ANNA'S CHOICE - PART TWO

Teni gave her a look of abject boredom and swept past her into the house. Anna was miffed. She'd hoped... Nay... Wished that Teni would be upset on noticing that a woman opened the door after the brief delay; but Teni was not. Instead, she gave Anna a cursory, disinterested glance and turned her attention back to Soji.

"Who is this one?" She asked in her high pitched voice. She didn't sound like she expected a response.

Anna stood there motionless, gawping at Teni... Wondering if it would be worth jail time to slap the arrogant brat. Apparently, Teni's stance gave Soji the confidence he'd lost temporarily when Anna opened the door. He turned to Anna, pinning her with a cold glare, then lifted his lip in a cruel smile.

"One of the many girls who won't take NO for an answer. She thought opening the door would make you mad and act irrational..."

Teni burst into scornful laughter. She gave Anna a cold once over then turned and planted a wet kiss on Soji's lips.

"It's gonna take more than just opening doors for me to leave my man, ho! Now, get lost before I tag you an intruder and make you a Maximum Security Prison Bitch!"

Soji pushed Anna out the door and slammed it shut. He turned with a smile to face Teni... Pleased that she hadn't brought the roof down in tantrum... and was rewarded with a vicious slap on the cheek. The slap made Soji reel back, stunned. Teni inched closer to him, her eyes blazing with a fury that could only be compared to insanity.

"Let this be the last time you'll entertain your 'hoes' in this house! I'm only cutting you this slack because I know and understand that men need to get their freak on, especially before they get married; but if this happens again, you'll rue it. And please... When next you want to pick a girl, be decent enough to pick one with class!"

Teni stalked towards the bedroom. Soji watched her, his hand still on his cheek that was still smarting from her slap. He saw her emerge from the bedroom, dumped the beddings on the floor and returned to the bedroom.

Outside, Anna paced frantically. A lot of things ran through her mind; one of which was to stalk back to Soji's house and create chaos. Now she understood why Soji's attitude changed towards her. Being the self-absorbed social climber that he was, Soji had managed to charm Chief Brathwaite's daughter and was obviously in a relationship with her. Anna's two years of tolerating Soji's bullshit and selfish lovemaking had ended in her being discarded like rotten Irish potato.

Tears poured down Anna's cheeks as the full force of the humiliation hit her. She had been faithful in the two years of their relationship and now, it had all come to naught. Anger and regret drove her to distraction and made her walk unseeingly, not minding that her purse was still in Soji's house. She had gotten to Gbagada bus stop when she realized she would need her purse. The thought of returning to Soji's place filled her with anger and dread. The bus stop was near deserted and the few people there didn't look like people who would render help should she resort to begging for transport fare. Her cell phone was also in her purse so there was no way she could call anyone to come get her. With a resigned sigh, she turned and walked away from the bus stop... not remotely looking forward to her journey back to Soji's place.

She was wondering what would happen when she eventually got to Soji's place when she noticed that a car was tailing her. Sudden fear gripped her and she hastened her steps. Still the car tailed her. All manner of thoughts assailed her and none was pleasant. She began to utter prayers, her heart beating sporadically and almost making her palpitate. At the entrance gate of the estate where Soji lived, she slowed down and approached the security men in relief. The car also made a turn into the estate and from the way the security men hurried to open the gates and greet the occupant, Anna could tell that he was also a resident of that estate. Still, she couldn't understand why the car hadn't driven past her. To be on the safe side, Anna stood with the security men, waiting for the car to drive into oblivion. But it didn't. Instead the occupant of the car drove through the estate gates and parked by a corner. He then got out of the car and approached her with a curious look.

He was tall, light-skinned, trim and fit. As he neared her, she realized that he was also good looking... very much so.

"Hey..." he said to her. "I've been trying to get your attention but you didn't seem to notice"

"I'm sorry but getting the attention of a woman, at past 9pm, by driving slowly behind her is kinda creepy, don't you think?"

He smiled sheepishly at her.

"You're right... It's hella creepy. I'm sorry. Can I give you a ride back to Soji's place? I know that's where you're headed."

Anna looked at him sharply.

"How do you know I'm going to Soji's place?" She asked suspiciously

Romance / Women Cheat More Than Men by HAPPENINGS9JA: 1:55pm On Apr 10, 2013
Alleged adulterers like Ashton Kutcher, Jesse James and Kobe Bryant all make it seem like men are dogs and cheat more often than women. But don’t kid yourself. Women are quickly catching up in the game of infidelity, and the new research might surprise you.

The numbers are hard to pin down, as these types of surveys live by the honesty policy, but research found that roughly 20-25% of men have cheated, compared to about 15-20% of women. Other polls cite a much higher percentage, with as many as 50% of married women saying they’ve engaged in extramarital activities.

While men tend to do it for the sex, women hunger for emotional satiation.

It’s usually the sign of a bigger problem when someone cheats, but women, more than men, tend to look elsewhere for fulfillment when they don’t feel desired, understood or appreciated. There are also the thrill-seekers, who love the adrenaline rush and adventure when things have gotten stale at home.

Whatever the reason, the bottom line is that women cheat just as much as men do, so don’t assume anyone is innocent.

Romance / X-rated: Anna And Soji's Story by HAPPENINGS9JA: 12:20pm On Apr 08, 2013
ANNA'S CHOICE

She was determined to make this work. She had resolved to give this her all. She wasn't one of those girls that allowed little kinks destroy her relationship. She was a fighter... a lioness. She protected her relationship no matter how badly it turned and did everything in her power to nurse it back to health. How she did it might not be generally acceptable to the liberated woman but Anna didn't care. She was the kind of girl that had to be in a relationship to feel complete. So she forced herself to stay in one, even when the signs of life had gone from it.

The car horn blared impatiently, signaling her cue to leave the house. She stared at her reflection one last time. She wasn't a bad-looking girl. Her breasts were average; she had just the right curves for her height and her face was flawless. Her make- up tonight was light, simple and elegant. Her Lycra dress hugged her in the right places and the red stilettos accentuated her beautifully slim legs to perfection. She was ready for Soji tonight. She hoped everything would go as planned but reserved a small portion in her heart for doubts. The horn blared again and she grabbed her purse and left the room.

Outside, Soji wore a frown. He hated waiting and could never understand why women enjoyed making men wait. He'd told Anna that he would be at her place at seven o'clock, sharp. Traffic had afforded her an extra thirty minutes and he'd expected her to be out of the house as soon as she heard the car horn. Apparently, she wasn't ready and his scowl settled because he was sure she wouldn't be out for another thirty minutes. Soji wasn't a patient man and with Anna his patience was at level zero. He punched the horn again and left his hand on it, causing a loud irritating noise in the otherwise quiet neighborhood. The door opened and Anna strolled out briskly and headed towards his car.

The drive to his place was silent. Soji’s scowl was still in place and Anna made no attempt at conversation. They arrived at his house and she got down and waited patiently for him to park his car. He led the way into his apartment while she followed him meekly behind. Inside the house, Anna noted a few changes had been made. The photo frames on his mantle were missing... The furniture had been moved around and everywhere looked neat and homely. Soji wasn't a domesticated kind of guy and this new arrangement couldn't have been done by the cleaning lady. Anna said nothing. The tension between them was bad enough and she didn't want to rock the boat of their already fragile relationship. She sat on the couch, feeling like a stranger... the whole atmosphere, making her uncomfortable. He dropped his car keys and cell phone on the center table and headed for the bar to pour out drinks. Anna watched him, wondering if there was any point in her trying to fight an obviously lost cause.

When he handed her the glass of scotch, she took it with a mumbled “Thanks" and downed the alcohol in one gulp. The scotch burned her throat and almost made her cough but she restrained herself and dropped the empty glass on the center table. He made no attempt to refill her glass and instead sipped his scotch in silence. The tension between them was threatening to strangle her so she cleared her throat and smiled at him wanly.

"Soji..."

He cut her off almost immediately with a gruff "Let’s not talk... Don't let us ruin the moment with words".

Anna fell silent. She watched him sip his drink till he finished it and dropped his empty glass on the center table. Then he got up and stretched out his hand to her... She took his hand and allowed him lead her to the bedroom. Inside the bedroom, she watched him UnCloth with clinical detachment but made no attempt to do the same. A few minutes later, he was standing before her, stark naked; his penis nodding lazily to life.

Having gone through the paintings and drawings on your thread and comments that help other artists, we humbly propose a space weekly for you on our online magazine under the Arts section.

We can call it ART SPOT: (Theme for the week)

Here, we can every week feature artworks by artists like you with an explanation of each artwork and the bio (and contact if provided) of the artist. You get to choose the theme for each week and send in pieces based on it.

We’ll give people the opportunity to critique and comment on the art works.

Nairaland / General / People Claiming To Have Remedies For All Solutions by HAPPENINGS9JA: 9:30am On Mar 28, 2013
Have you noticed how quick people are to prey on people’s fear and insecurities? Have you noticed how many concoctions, tablets, creams, drinks and even powders are available in the open market to those who want to lose weight, get larger sex organs, have children, look younger etc.?

I was at the market the other day, and a man walked up to me to say that if I inhaled a certain powder, I would lose weight; I laughed so hard, the man thought I also had a mental problem and he also had a cure for that. It wouldn’t be the first time I was approached for something like this. In fact, a friend of mine had a very interesting encounter.

According to her, she was complaining to her hair dresser that her four year old son had become unruly. Another client at the salon quickly referred her to someone who sells an ointment which she called “stubborn boy”. The client said she had used it on her own son some weeks back and she was beginning to see results. My friend who was complaining before quickly told the other lady, “e never reach like that”.

I assumed it was a “Nigerian thing”, until my visit to South Africa. I was at an Indian market looking for chili pepper; next inscription I saw was “Mother-in-Law extinguisher” (a tried and tested powder that takes care of troublesome mother-in-laws). That was all the confirmation I needed, people claim to have remedies to every human problem.

Have you experienced this before? Kindly share your experience.
