YourHealthlabs: I laff in yoruba!!! It's no use wasting calories on your case. Just look deep within... I'm sure the truth lurks within... No matter how you try to mask it from the rest of the world. |

YourHealthlabs: Let me re-educate you so u for the safety of the masses... Once u culture for more than 1 week and begin to grow NEW organisms, you most likely are culturing those in your dirty laboratory air and workbenches. I as a doctor would not alter my treatment protocol because of that, neither would any doctor do, even if he's the dullest one. Till date, the only group of organisms that take long to grow on APPROPRIATE agar are the non specific ones... Mycobacterium spp, chlamydia, mycoplasma, etc. Which may take up to 6 weeks for tb. Thats why we do our immunofluorescence assays, afb and mantoux! You can culture your blood specimen for however long you wish... probably someday, the red blood cells would germinate! 1 Like |

YourHealthlabs: another display of ignorance! Kindly post your source. you also mentioned "scientists". Kindly clarify. Are u trying to group medical lab TECHNOLOGISTS under this umbrella?! Forget that u modified the nomenclature over the years, borrowing the 'scientist' appellation. For all I care, a battery charger is also a scientist... at least he works with chemicals; the motor mechanic is also one... down to the most junior apprentice. Do the lab scientists even understand the principles behind the tests they carry out; or they just follow some form of prescribed algorithm (designed by doctors, mind you) to carry out these tests? I wouldn't blame you... its because we have a government whose key actors are good examples of ignoramuses ambulating on 2 limbs... members of the same plumage flock together, that's why they (government) are more in tune with you...JOHESU. I still await you to provide evidence for the figures you quoted. I can bet with one of my gluteus maximus that you are wrong! |

YourHealthlabs: Very funny... Mind u... I work in a tertiary hospital. I can educate u! I do not have a private hospital; however when I do, no clown masquerading as a laboratory scientist would even be allowed to breathe near my hospital entrance, let alone deceiving him or herself with delusions of grandeur, that he or she intends to accredit my laboratory. Where on earth is it heard of that an intellectually immature mind is solicited to veto the work of geniuses? Please tell me! I pray thee! |

YourHealthlabs: Falsehood... I dare you to the challenge u requested. Starr the lecture... I'll puncture holes through its contents and leave you for the masses to judge... I am certain you wouldn't take this challenge. A dollar is less than 170 naira... but u can use 170. You dont have to be scared doing the math... unless you wanna tell us your arithmethic is poor! As for intern salary... it is even lower... less than 900 dollars a month. I use the dollars so people can compare with other climes if they wish... ghana would not be far away to start with. |

YourHealthlabs: Read your comment again and see the bullshit you composed! Try edit your thought in your mind before you commit those poor fingers to typing pus on this forum. meanwhile... you dont have to search for long... I dare you to give evidence of ANY intern or even junior resident that receives the amount you pasted here. I am 3 years into residency, and my salary is just barely 1,100 dollars. Do your calculations. #be educated! |

timowale: Its quite amazing how majorities of respondents who are doctors on this topic have expressed such hieght of amateurish reaction to it. A horrible display of ignorance! Kindly purge yourself of it by doing a lil' homework! Go and research into medical training... You would be shocked! 2 Likes |

YourHealthlabs: Another display of ignorance! !! If you are enlightened enough, you would have known that even after blood screening, there is a very small chance of blood borne infection transmission with stored blood initially screened as negative. The gold standard is the use of polymerase chain reaction to detect deoxyribonucleic or ribonucleic acid sequence of the virus even in the window period. But this is still not foolproof! Anyone consenting to blood transfusion should be aware of this. I am a medic in luth. The professor had to take the hit as the head of the laboratory... not because he carried out the test. He was sacked for the actions of those under him. Just like the saying, " a captain goes down with his ship"... thats how serious our roles as consultants are! |

Skybaby: This is stuped and is only in nigeria that some one with first degree(MBBS) parades him or her self as Doctor and preventing a Ph.D holder from answering so. Physicians go to hell with your demand. Phd my foot!!! The earlier that sinks into your head, the better. No one prevents the other from acquiring the doctorate degree. What is my business if you are a 'doctor of battery', so long as u dont intend to apply your services to treatment of humans. We dont care! The only aim is to ensure that the teeming number of nigerians are not preyed upon by fakes; cos in the end, it is the medic that battles to save their lives after they have been mismanaged by crooks masquerading as providers of orthodox health care. 5 Likes |

barcanista: what's the ðiff btw our physicians and nurses? Barcanista! It is obvious in most of your comments that your level of reasoning is very primitive. It has been clouded by mischief and disrespect for sanctity. Listen to yourself... Cerebrate on your thoughts before you commit yourself by putting them to writing on this page and displaying just how deep the pool of ignorance in which you are sinking is. If nigerians are a sensible bunch, they would go research into the current problems bedevilling their health sector and demand that the government restores order to it. They would develop thick skin and be immune to a bunch of ingrates who intend to abuse their minds by feeding them with words of deceit. With most of the comments here however, I think I can safely posit that nigerians are definitely an ungrateful bunch. It's saddening! 1 Like |

I do not blame u for your comments. It is the clueless nigerian government that I blame. johesu, a family to which u belong is just capitalizing on that. In the deepest crevices of your hearts, your consciences tells the truth... no matter how much u try to subdue it. I challenge u to make these discussion more of an intellecutaĺ debate and stop abusing the minds of the public with falsehood. |

I never wanted to comment on this page, however the level of ignorance being displayed here is nauseating. Before u suffered those digits to punch on comments on this page, it would have done a lot good if you researched the subject matter first. This knee jerk approach to discussing issues is inappropriate. I observe that johesu (joint health sector union) have swarmed this page to abuse the mind of the public, preying on their ignorance. I can only pray for this country full of ungrateful Nigerians. 1 Like |

I weep for this country for the level of reasoning displayed here... A country where ignorance is rife and common sense is sacrificed to the winds! There is a huge problem in the nigerian health sector and the average nigeria is blind to all these. With this NMA strike, I hope the government would experience the wake- up call and do things right. At least, they sowed the first seed of discord. |
