Unless you don't live in Lagos, Abuja or in states where there are airports or airline offices then using an agent makes small sense. smiley

Sup bro, we are observing from online and research that the agents are even cheaper than booking through the airlines directly. we even tried it with their websites, but still wondering how then do these agents like wakanow, travelstart, juimiatravels etc make their profit. or is that not true ?

What do you need an agent for when technology exist?
I booked for my flight online, directly on the airline website (Turkish airlines). I never used wakanow, travel start or whatever the name is.
You can pay online as well but I chose instead to go to the Turkish airlines office @ Victoria Island and buy my ticket on my own.
I also used the opportunity to ask customer service about the flights, various prices, time, duration, connecting flights etc
In my opinion I prefer Turkish airlines to Air Maroc. Someone I know traveled through Air Maroc last week and when they reached Casablanca for the connecting flight he had barely 15mins to board the 2nd plane and a lot of the passengers had to leave their luggages behind . He entered Germany without his luggage but the airline collected his address and promised to send the luggage to his German address. Assuming he had no address to give them that would be bye bye to his luggage.
Am not discouraging you maybe that kind of thing happens once in a blue moon. Also i guess Air Maroc is cheaper than the others.
Goodluck

Thanks for your swift response. yes i know that technology exist, but sometimes it's better to go to the office and do it directly, especially if your place is not too far from there. We nor wan hear say stories that touch, or internet shake, ney price fluctuate after you don transfer your funds and so on, na naija be this shocked
at first you wrote that you first booked for the flight online, then later went to their office @ Victoria Island and buy the ticket on your own. does that means, you first made the reservation online without payment (and what is the time frame / deadline to make the payment after such online reservation). Then what exchange rate did the airline use to calculate the naira equivalent for you, because on RAM website, it's in dollars
I choose to go for RAM because of the price, infact it's almost too expensive for me, i wish say another cheaper airline dey sef. grin
Thank God say the guy luggage nor loss, i learnt from another source that he finally got it today because of the wrong address he used, while others from the flight with correct addresses got theirs since that last week. in all, nor be the airline dey take people and their luggage there safely, but Oluwa nii wink

Hallo alle, guten morgen! wink
Please a friend needs to book for flight today and has 4 questions for those that just travelled to germany recently, or know people who did, or have much experience with this travelling stuff.
1) what is the best, easiest, most reliable and cheapest way to book for flights to anywhere in germany (although am thinking lagos to munich).
2) if it boils down to those common agents like wakanow or travelstart, is it better to go to their head office in lagos to do that in person, and which is more reliable.
3) how does one follow up with the booking to confirm it with the airlines thereafter (planning for Royal Air Maroc or at least Egyptair)
4) is royal air maroc unreliable, because i've head and read of both good and bad reviews, and know people who have used them as well but unable to contact them currently. although i choose to believe more of the good reviews.
thanks as i anticipate your various response kiss

@Lalaski001, note that these amounts neccki just stated for TNT & DHL is per package (standard 0.5kg documents), that means sending many documents at once would cost you more. if you are sending to different schools, multiply that by the number of different schools.

Another option would be to place them all in one package and send to someone in germany if you have, who can assist in separating and sending them to the respective schools to save cost. they would weigh the package at TNT/DHL to know the weight, and then give you the stipulated cost, which would be higher than this 0.5kg amount, but at least better than sending each school package separately.

while the 2k mentioned for Nipost would cover all, even if you are sending to each school one at a time. you might not even spend up to that. a standard 0.5kg At the nipost in CMS is about either 350 or 450 naira (i used it beginning of last month, unregistered mail precisely cause i heard it's faster than registered. and it took like about 2 weeks and 2 days to deliver. A friend who recommended it used it few months before me and took similar time also. grin

Meanwhile another friend used the one at MMA recently for 200 naira for unregistered, which was cheaper.

So weigh your options, and remember Nipost is only when you have a lot of time to application deadline, and backed up with prayers also that it doesn't get lost cuz you arent filling any information with the nipost officials, or given anything to show you actually sent a document. shocked shocked

The last time I used TNT it cost me 7,000. But a friend who recently used it said it's now 12,000. I stand to be corrected tho. And DHL

cost about 18k. Both TNT & DHL will deliver ur letter withing 3 working days.

But Nipost will not cost you more than 2k. But please only use Nipost if you are in Lagos. Precisely MM2 NAHCO Office it will take them at most

2 weeks while other branches could take a month.

Hello house, please those who have already received thier visas, even those from the past sessions with experience.
Where u guys able to track it immediately after dropping your passport, to know when and how it moved from the consulate before it got to you, especially those who used fedex prepaid.
then how did you also indicate that travel date (which should not be scheduled any sooner than at least 7 days after the posting of your envelope), as written inside the a.m mail for the consulate to see, did you write a small attached letter or what? and was it the same date you used for the insurance also. thanks

hello peeps, please i have a question to the gurus and those who has gotten visa already, or seen similar situations.
normally when someone gets an A.M mail, he/she is expected to do a travel insurance and also indicate the intended date of travel for the embassy, not less than 7 days from the date of submission.
Here's my question then: if the person's A.M drops around maybe 22nd of this month of August from prediction, please what is the best date to choose when doing the travel insurance as date of travel, and to also indicate for the consulate.
bearing in mind that he wishes to collect the visa on time probably that same week of the A.M mail, although his enrolment date would still about a month and few days time, around 27th of September as stated on the admission letter.
if the person indicates a travel date of like mid-septmber, would the consulate delay the issuing and dispatching of the visa to a closer week to the deadline in september.
what range of dates would be better, so that the person can just travel down to lagos, drop the insurance and passport since the address on the interview prepaid envelope was actually a lagos address also, and then hang around lagos for not more than a week to pick them up and travel back. Thanks

Please anyone has experience on this, to be able to guide someone in choosing.
