God bless you Bobrisky.

Please even if they have refused to legalize same sex marriage in Nigeria; let's learn to love and accept gays and lesbians.

Who knows our kids could turn out to be one.
Stop the discrimination.

You can drive with your Nigerian drivers license. You can rent a car with just that and a debit card bearing the same name. You need international drivers license if you national drivers license is not in English language

Okay......

You can't drive with the Nigerian drivers license.... Its better you process the international drivers license before coming down. It is acceptable for international drivers during their short stay. It normally takes few days in processing... All you need is your current drivers license, 2passport photographs and processing fee...... I hope this helps?

MY OWN PORT OF ENTRY EXPERIENCE - Very Disappointing grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

PORT OF ENTRY - ATLANTA

EQUIPMENT - AIR FRANCE

DATE 30TH DECEMBER, 2017

So I left Nigeria through Abuja as I went to the village for funeral and Christmas. On getting to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport with my brother, I passed my bags through the scan machine, collected them at the other end and proceeded to the Air France area. 1st lady stopped me and weighed my bags and wrote the weights on the bags, then wished me a safe flight. There was a guy sitting right before the check in area who requested for my passport, flipped through and asked where I was going and I responded Atlanta. ¨Boss wetin dey for me. Drop me something na¨. I did not respond. He put a security sticker on my passport and asked me to go to check in.

Checked in my bags and collected my boarding pass with customs declaration paper where i was asked to declare how much I was carrying. I did. It was time for me to proceed to the waiting area upstairs and as i was going, i was asked by a customs guy to return the declaration paper. He looked through and started looking at me like kilode. I was just looking like I didn´t even know what was going on. Then he said oga find us something. you dey run leave us for Nigeria for this new year. I said I didnt have Naira, he said buy you fit give us from the dollars. I just ignored and said if you are done please i would like to go upstairs. He said ok and handed me the passport.

We left at 11:20 pm and arrived Paris CDG airport at 5:50am. I Had 8 hours wait for I moved to Immigration and got stamped into Paris. (I have a valid Schengen Visa). came back to the airport and went to wait for clearance. 2 men asked everyone same questions,

1. Are you travelling for business or pleasure.
2. Did you pack your bags yourself.
have a nice flight
.

Oh the food on the plane from Paris to Atlanta was BAD. Couldn´t swallow it.

FINALLY WE GOT TO ATLANTA

Upon arrival, we were directed to the machines to scan our visas, and get a print out. Did mine and moved to go wait in line. It was less than 4 minutes. Finally it was my turn and the CBP beckoned at me to come.

Me: Hi
CBP: Hi. (reaching out for my passport and opens it) Do you have anything to declare?
Me: No
CBP: (stamps me in 6 months and handed my passport). Enjoy your stay

I was angry. why did you not ask me why i came, where i wil stay, what i do, if my belt fits, will i like the food here, its cold will i be ok.

I vex. I vex no be small.

anyway, the cold here no be joke sha. -11 degrees. Sun will be shinning like this but it´s not like Nija sun that can fry plantain. This sun is weak.

I went out to buy a sim card yesterday o, the guy says $40. I paid and he said they were doing a promo so I was entitled to a phone. Na the phone i dey use browse since o. A cute Samsung phone looking like an iPhone 7.

People here are randy sha! chaaaaiii everywhere you go, someone is very willing cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

My experience at the POE.... After the short queue for passport and visa verification alongside passport taking and finger prints

Me: Good morning.

CBP Officer: Morning; Passport please?

CBP Officer: Why are you in the U.S?

Me: For Vacation

CBP Officer: With Who?

ME: My sister

CBP Officer: Where does she stay?

Me: Maryland

CBP Officer: How long are you staying?

Me: 2 weeks

CBP Officer: Okay, welcome to the U.S. Stamped me in for 6 months.

Me: Thank you.

Me: heads to pick my luggages

No need for panic if your intention in the U.S is pure and straightforward.

If you are going to the US for the first time, please don't forget the address of the family or friends you used in filling your form..... Its very important......you will be asked .

I appreciate you guys for series of experience shared and most especially the administration of this forum..... GOD BLESS

Hi House!

Please, what is the easiest way to change little cash in Nigerian Naira to US Dollars for someone that want to travel. Am looking at it that the stress is not worth it to do PPA for a cash like $400 to $700 that I want to go with as cash.

Please, can this be changed at the airport on the date of travel?

Or before the date of travel? Can it be done at the airport easily?

Please, someone should advise.

Thanks

The process is kind of stressful.....but it's beta you go tru d bank.. ...2weeks before the travel date.....ur passport and ticket confirmation.......with that, you are good to go.....it takes like 2-3 days

Should it be the case that you are questioned, there may not be any issues so long the change is truthful, reasonable and explainable. And also, if the purpose for which the visa was issued is the same. e.g. vacation is vacation; family visit is family visit.
(If you don't want stories that touch, don't come and be going to visit your dearest uncle in Staten Island, when you declared that you do not know anyone in the US.)

I appreciate

Family / Re: Did I Do The Right Thing In This Situation?? by haywhy1: 6:50pm On Aug 29, 2015

My landlord and his wife, along with some other neighbors think I'm a wicked person that doesn't like children. This is because I don't allow their children come to play in my apartment. Let me tell you the short story:

I moved in about 7 months ago, and my landlord lives just beside my flat. Everyday, his children (ages 2, 6 and 9) always come to knock that they want to come and play. Sometimes they say they want to watch cartoons since I have a dstv.

The problem is, I live alone, I'm single and I don't have any children for them to play with. I spend most of my time at work except weekends when I love to cook. The children usually come during weekends.

I decided not to let them come and play because I've been hearing about "65 yr old rapes this", " 25 yr old defines that ". I'm still very young, and please don't get me wrong: I'm not saying I have plans to defile anyone's child or that I'm capable of doing that.

I usually see these children going to other flats and other houses on the street to " play" and I don't want a case where someone will defile any of them and I automatically become a suspect, that's why I decided not to let them come in. In fact, when they knock, I don't even answer once I know it's them.

Now, people in the area are saying I'm a bad person that's why I don't like children. I don't want to tell them my reasons.

Dear nairalanders, did I do the right thing? Is there a better way of handling this situation?
Please advice.

Cc: Lalasticlala

God bless you.....its better you buy a GOTV for your landlord's kids.....you have a very good point shutting the door against them.....
Business / Re: I Got Defrauded By My Bank by haywhy1: 9:32pm On Jun 23, 2015
klevjey:
I bank with Access Bank. I was having N153, 265.00. I withdrew N5,000.00 last week Monday. On Friday last week, I went to the branch at Iyana Ipaja to pay back the N5,000, only for me to receive an alert that my balance is N151,265.00.

I went to the bank and requested for my statement of account which was printed out. On the statement, I found out that N2,000 was withdrawn on the Tuesday of that week. I quickly told them I wasn't the one and they told me it must have been done by someone whom I usually send to withdraw in my stead. They ruled out fraud claiming that if it were to be fraud, the person would have wipped my account clean. Funny enough, my ATM card was with me throughout, and I didn't even receive any SMS alerting me of the debit that day. We have been arguing since in the bank. I know this is an internal job from the bank. Please guys, how do I go about this? I want them to know they don't just go around messing with people's money simply because they are 'common man'.

Do u knw it's possible for sumome to make online transaction with just the digits on ur ATM plus the last 3 digit behind ur ATM card backing it up with your pin.....with this, one can buy alot of stuff from jumia, konga and other online stores....u might probably not get notification wen dis kind of business are bin transacted

softwhispers:
Hello fellow NLs,
Here is the problem:
A friend inherited a sizeable sum of money and decided to "save" it by renting an office space in a bustling area in lkeja, Allen Avenue, to be specific.
The office space is standard and will be fitted with AC units. Total cost of securing and the space and giving it a face lift, was in excess of #1.5.
Now the rent is already counting (since March) and he is yet to start off.
Please, kindly drop suggestions in something profitable and standardized which he can start right away. He is business-inclined and would favor any legitimate business.
l have received very valuable advice from NL before and am confident this time wont be an exception.
Many thanks, in anticipation.

Hello bro: have you thought about setting up a virtual office? Am sure it going to make a whole lot of sense within that environment. A lot of young business owner can benefit from that business idea

wealth123: Have u been considering starting Cement Business? Here is the oppourtunity to do so.

I am a DISTRIBUTOR with Dangote Cement and can help you to get the cement at wholesale price while you sell retail to make profit. I will also teach you how to make it in this lucrative business.

Those handling big construction can also buy cement from us at near distributor price and save a lot of money.

This is the business that made Dangote the richest man in Africa and now he has 3 big plant in Nigeria. Without distributors and retailers he cannot sell so why not join the train and do the business of the rich.

Business / Re: Profitable Businesses You Can Start With Little Capital. by haywhy1: 7:49pm On Jan 08, 2013
TheJames: Hello, I wish to recommend the following business ideas

1. Turkey farming business- A Mini Turkey Farm
This is an agric bizness with a short turnaround period. You can start
this venture with a room, bq, uncompleted building or any vacant space.
The profit margin is very handsome. Turkeys mature within a few months and
they do not smell like other poultry animals. You can recoup your
investment within 6 months with a very high profit margin.
The key areas are: Feeding, Where to get supplies of young animals, pest
control, housing etc.

2. Importation Business
Importing goods from China at a cheap price and selling it at a higher price here in Nigeria.

3. Grasscutter farming

4. Meat Delivery/Supply Business. Food related and very profitable. I can
provide more info on this concept if necessary. You can supply meat to
eateries, hotels, restaurants and individuals. You can also bring in live
cows/goats from the North and sell.
5. Soap making. Soap is a fast moving consumer product and production
process is not too complex
6. Exercise Book production
7. You can set up a small bakery and expand in future. Nigerians love bread
8. You can import shoes and other fashion accessories. I know a guy that
imports male casual shoes from the Uk and he sells to wholesale buyers in
Lagos. The rate of return is very high, quick turnover is guaranteed and
the products sell fast because it meets one of the basic needs of man -
Clothing.
9. Transportation. the recent ban on commercial motorcycles in Lagos has
thrown up a huge business opportunity for smart investors who understand
the Lagos business environment.
10. Supply of corporate gift items.
11. Small scale Printing press.
12. Game lounge.
14. Production and marketing of Cosmetics and personal care products

You can also consider:
Table water and pure water business
Export of agric commodities such as ginger, garlic, coacoa or charcoal.
Production of Toilet roll/ Tissue paper/Serviette. I'm doing a feasibility
study on this business right now.

Hello thejames:kindly send me manuals on franchise business.i appreciate your good willingness τ̲̅ȍ help nigerians.God will surely reward u.my mail is ayo_komolafe@yahoo.com
