Celebrities / The Different Types Of People Who Supports Buhari by Hendryx(m): 5:50pm On Jan 09, 2015 |
THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT BUHARI In a more responsible society, the candidature of General Muhammadou Buhari would have been received with ice cold excitement by 99.9 percent of the populace. But Nigeria is a peculiar country, where the ignorant pumps him or herself up to appear the most knowledgeable, the corrupt play saintly, the traitor condemns the patriot and is applauded by the confused, the thief calls the thief catcher a thief and the confused people applaud him. Nigeria is a place where the most horrible leaders are celebrated while the most humble are derided. This situation explains why there are still people who are either so shameless or so ignorant to mouth the mutest support for the man who should be the most hated villain in the chequered history of Nigerian democracy. These are the different categories of people who support Buhari: 1. THE REAL OPPRESSORS: These are the elites who have built their entire lives around politics, and cannot survive without having one or two ways to corruptly enrich themselves through the national till. Due to the massive transformational policies of the Goodluck administration, most of the areas through which these people corruptly enrich themselves have been successfully closed by the present administration, hence, their desperation to get themselves back into power, in order to resume their filtering of our commonwealth into their personal pockets. Chief among this set of supporters are; Former Governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Bukola Saraki, and a good number of their elitist supporters of the retired but illiterate General. 2. THE BIGOTS: Ninety percent of the ordinary people who are supportive of General Buhari's presidential election bid are either from the core Northern part of the country or are Muslims. To these people, even it is not Buhari, all they want is Northern Muslim President, because according to them, Nigeria belongs to that set of people. These are the SAI BUHARI chanters. They will never tell you what makes Buhari better than Jonathan, or why he can be a better President, because they do not know. They are only interested in seeing one of their own answer President, Shikena. Chief among this class of supporters are Lawal Keita, Ciroma, Coomasie, Kwankwaso and the likes. 3. THE WANNABEE PROGRESSIVES: These are people who support the unschooled General because they think Nigeria needs change, and they want to be seen as change agents, hence they are lending their voice to the change slogan. These set of supporters are chiefly youths from the Southern part of the country. A very mild voice in their conscience tells them that Buhari does not represent this change they seek, and they know it, but they want to be seen as progressives, hence they do not want to be seen as supportive of the present PDP government. When I was younger, and still sniffing the concept of progressiveness, I had this problem, but with time, I defeated phantasm and became more realistic. That is why I can afford to stand against the whole world in pursuing beliefs I am sure of. This set of Buhari supporters have failed to see the CHAINS in the change they are chanting. I have and I will not be deceived. Some of them are actually aware that a vote for Buhari is a vote for retrogression, but they are afraid of being tagged as PDP followers, they are afraid of not been seen as progressives. Their desperation to wear the cloaks of Soyinka, Fawehmi and the likes is so intense that they forget to take their time to understand the real colours of such cloaks. Being an activist or a progressive does not mean that you must always stand against incumbents. I hope Petra Iyabo Akinti Onyegbule, Soni Akoji, Theresa Ugwuanyi and others like them would understand this and quickly retract their support for this analog uneducated and perennial presidential contestant. No doubt, these set of young and not too young 'youths' are desirous of giving Nigeria a better deal, but they need to understand that Buhari will throw us back into the dark days of the eighties, and they may be at the receiving end of his intolerance at the end of the day. 4. THE VINDICTIVE: These are people who seek for a way to get back at President Jonathan by any means possible. For this set of SAI BUHARI chanters, it does not matter if Buhari will take over and throw the nation into abyss, what they want is for Jonathan to be removed by any means possible. I do not know what my former friend, VIO has against Jonathan, but she was one of those who mouthed this rubbish some two years ago. She said then that GEJ must be removed by any means possible and some of us interpreted it that she wouldn't mind if Jonathan is assassinated. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is the ring leader of this set of supporters. They are the most committed in the Jonathan Must Go project. The curious thing about this set of Buhari supporters is that they cannot come out and convince any sensible Nigerian how Jonathan has failed, but they keep disturbing our peace with their frustrated bleats of CHANGE, which in the real sense is CHAIN. 5. THE BANDWAGON FOLLOWERS: These are people who are following or at least mouthing support for Buhari because their political ogas at the top are supporting Buhari. In Imo State most of those who are appointees of the Rochas government fall into this category. They do not know why they have to support Buhari, but they tell you it is Buhari because they have seen their oga talking about Buhari. The funny thing about this set of GMB supporters is that they have more reasons not to support Buhari than most of us, who are not supporting Buhari, but these peoples political support is slavish. They do not have a mind of their own, or they deliberately suspended their independence for the pittance they get from their principals. I will not be wrong to classify this set of people as slaves. No matter which category you fall into in the Buhari project, I gladly wish you GOODLUCK. *Copied* |

Celebrities / How Many Of You Remember The Popular Actor/commedian 'jagua' - Afolabi Afolayan. by Hendryx(m): 8:49pm On Oct 11, 2014 |
More than four decades, popular comedian Afolabi Afolayan (a.k.a Jagua) was a phenomenon in the Nigerian entertainment scene, taking comedy to unprecedented height. His rustic and down to earth comedy act created a cliché that made many homes a happy lots creating laughter for many children, providing answers to many housewives’ frustrations and actually hooking on many youths who became influenced with his famous pre programme signal tune ‘my belle o my head o’. Afolabi Afolayan was a class of its own in the Nigeria comedy scene. The mercurial actor who started his comedy series in 1968 died suddenly in 2000, no thanks to the debilitating state of the Nigerian health system. He was one of the most sought after personality on NTA through the 1980s and 1990s up to the time of his untimely demise. 7 Likes 1 Share

Investment / 10 Traits Of A Successful Entrepreneur by Hendryx(m): 6:39pm On Aug 28, 2014 |
10 Traits Of a Successful Entrepreneur any of these names ring a bell: Bill Gates (Microsoft), Michael Dell (Dell Computer), Larry Ellison (Oracle), Ted Turner (AOL- Time Warner)? How about Phil Knight (Nike), Vince McMahon (WWF), Rupert Murdoch (News Corporation), and Steve Jobs (Apple Computer)? What all of these men have in common is that they are successful entrepreneurs. They are some of the most successful entrepreneurs of our era. They have built their respective companies from small businesses into international powerhouses. They may have different styles, but they are all cut from the same cloth. They are the go - getters who don't take "no" for an answer and believe everything is possible. If we take a closer look at these tremendously wealthy self-made men,we'll find that they all share certain characteristics. In fact, they share many of the same characteristics as most other entrepreneurs. It doesn't matter if their businesses earn $10 billion or $100,000 annually; entrepreneurs tend to share certain character traits. Entrepreneurs are a very particular bunch. They usually don't fit a common mold. When they look at the world around them, they do not dwell on how things are. Rather, they focus on how they can transform things into how they want them to be, as well as how they can make a profit in the process. Here are some of the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur. Do you possess any of these traits? 1. Self-Starter -- Being an entrepreneur entails initiating something. Entrepreneurs see an opportunity to make money and seize it, and start a business. 2. Enjoys big challenges -- Entrepreneurs like challenges. They like to push the limits and test themselves against the world. The thrill of beating a challenge is just as rewarding as the profit that follows. 3. Does not quit -- Real entrepreneurs never give up. If they fail, they regard it as nothing more than a temporary setback. They go back to the drawing board, fix their plan and try again. Most successes only come after many failures. 4. Desire to succeed -- Starting a business is risky. Entrepreneurs cannot stand the idea of living an uneventful life. They need to be challenged and succeed. They have a genuine appetite for success. 5. Creative Entrepreneurs are usually very creative people. Creative here refers to the ability to see a business evolve where nothing existed beforehand. They can spot an opportunity and work to profit from their observation. 6. Hard-working Entrepreneurs are always hard-working people. Running a business is not a walk in the park. Ultimately, they must put in the hours to get the job done and make sure that the business achieves its full potential. 7. Flexible Entrepreneurs wear many hats. If there is a problem, they simply can't call up Herb from Legal or their VP of Marketing for a solution. They usually need to figure things out on their own and get all aspects of the business running single-handedly, at least in the beginning. A first-rate entrepreneur also knows when it's time to bring in additional managers to help with the business. 8. Competitive The world of business is the ultimate shark tank. In our capitalist society you are either the hunter or the prey. Thus, entrepreneurs like to compete with others. They relish the opportunity to measure wits with others and come out on top. 9. Independent A big driver to starting one's own business is the desire to work for oneself. Entrepreneurs are notorious for this characteristic. They generally hate having a boss and having to report to someone else. They want to call the shots and make their own "destiny." 10. Success-oriented Entrepreneurs are driven by success. That is, they don't imagine failing, only thriving. Sound obvious? isn't it. If you fell in the water and could not swim, would you think, "I'm a dead man, I may die here," or would such a thought never cross your mind because you were focusing every ounce of your energy on "swimming" to shore? You'd be surprised at how many people think negatively first. Now that you know what makes a successful entrepreneur, get off your butts and start making some money. Life is short! |
Celebrities / Jason Statham (expendables,transporter) Almost Died. by Hendryx(m): 7:15am On Oct 20, 2013 |
Action movies have always been dangerous business because, the more realistic the stunts, the more people appreciate it,thus legendary actors/stuntmen such as Jackie Chan,Sylvester Stallone,Jet Li and many more suffer great injuries to bring their stunts to life. Jason Statham had a near death experience while shooting The Expendables 3, and co-star Terry Crews shared the story of how it all when down while talking to Jay Leno. "He basically drove off of a cliff into the Black Sea and lived to see another day. This makes me wonder why Warner Bros. didn't cast Statham as Batman, he's basically Batman in real life anyway". http://screenclues..co.uk/2013/10/jason-statham-almost-died.html?m=1 1 Like |

Education / Niger Delta University Accreditation Withdrawn, Fear Grips Student by Hendryx(m): 10:48am On Aug 27, 2013 |
Fear and uncertainty grip Niger Delta University (NDU) students as NUC withdraws accreditation. The students of the University are now uncertain of what the future holds for them in the school as there were withdrawals of accreditation of some key courses. If this issue is not resolved on time, it might go the way of the UNIABUJA Accreditation Crisis that saw students transferred to other Universities where those courses were fully accredited. Students of the Bayelsa State owned university, Niger Delta University (NDU), Ammassoma, are gripped by uncertainty over the withdrawal of accreditation of key courses in the university by the National Universities Commssion (NUC). According to the Students, who spoke with LEADERSHIP, accreditation for seven key courses of study, including Law, has been withdrawn by the NUC. LEADERSHIP gathered that the NUC also placed 20 other programmes of the university on interim accreditation during its last accreditation exercise. It was also gathered that the university put forward 31 courses for accreditation but the NUC approved only four for full accreditation. There are fears that the programmes under probation may still be denied accreditation in the next accreditation exercise slated for September and October this year if the conditions for full accreditation are not met. Reasons given for the non-accreditation of the courses, sources hinted, include inadequate teaching staff, especially professors, PhD holders and senior lecturers. Others were inadequate library facilities, laboratory, lecture buildings and poor power supply. While students currently studying the non-accredited programmes will continue with their studies, new students will not be offered admission pending the accreditation by NUC. Reacting to the development, the Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), NDU chapter, Beke Sese, said the non-accreditation of the affected courses was a justification of poor funding of universities for which ASUU had been on strike. Sese stated in an interview on Wednesday that NDU had remained a “glorified secondary school” ten years after it was established. “Poor funding of universities has been the issue. This is what ASUU has been emphasising over the years. We’ve been pointing this out even in the current national strike action”, Sese said. When contacted, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the university, Domo Alagoa, said he would not react on the matter over the telephone phone. http://www.newsinnigeria.org/2013/08/niger-delta-university-ndu-accreditation-withdrawn-fear-grips-students.html
