POF and Dollar

I found this old quote from Blackbuddy. It explains what Cochtrane has been trying to say very simply. I hope people read and understand it. It was written 5 years ago in 2017 and is still relevant today. Of course, people are free to disagree with this view cheesy Especially those who believe that the POF is assessed based on the "official" exchange rate on your AOR date. Even if IRCC assess POF at AOR using the official rate on that day......it's about more than the Canadian dollar equivalent at AOR, it's about the real value of the money to you when you begin to spend it on landing.......Naira is not what you'll spend in Canada. And unless you get a job before you land, it's likely you will begin spending your POF from the airport.

Let's even assume 708 is inflated and unrealistic, anyone who bought 4 weeks ago at 606 would still be making a loss compared to if they had bought that same amount at 406 2 years ago, when they started saving the POF.....even if it was only $1,000.

It's very very very difficult to save in foreign currency, but in my view....most prudent thing POF wise. Passing POF eligibility with IRCC is one thing......the value of that POF to you is quite another. The best way to merge those two objectives is to.....#BuyDollar

https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/728#59148316

CIC is interested in the POF as dollars but you are allowed to hold the equivalent as Naira, pounds, rupees, cedis, etc.

So you are expected to have the dollar equivalent till conclusion of the application review process. If on Monday your POF is say, 4m naira and equal to $20,000.00 which is the expected POF for a family of 4 (this is just an example please), if exchange rate fluctuates and on Friday, your 4m is no longer equal to $20,000.00 but is now equal to $18,000.00, can you say have the complete POF? Of course not, because you no longer have the equivalent of $20,000.00. I am not out to scare you please but just to clarify the expectation, hence I illustrated with the example of the 2014 FSW PR set so you monitor the exchange rate and increase your POF accordingly or just get the complete dollars and keep so that if naira goes up or down, you're not concerned as your $20k remains complete. This thinking keeps you ready incase you receive request for updated POF which is for the VO to see if your POF is still up to the dollar equivalent. Remember, the currency used to measure the POF is Canadian dollars not naira so please ensure your Naira POF is equal to the dollars expected for your family size at all times.

Hope you understand now.

Looks like the category based draws will be added to existing draws. So in the same way they have CEC only or PNP only they may have category based but it seems the All Program draws will also continue alongside as happens currently.

Thank you for your response. How can I connect with you?

Enculer2:

Mate,

You would like to move to Canada from the UK? I lived in the UK and then in France. It was a carefully thought out decision not to move back to the UK but to Canada from France.

Many Brits are moving to Canada. Most of the expats that moved to Canada and went back to the UK regretted it.

Check out the Facebook threads on British Expats living in Canada, you would learn a lot, especially as you are currently in the UK.

All the best with your decision.

Use this link to check if your biometrics are still valid

https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/extapp/bioStatusQuery

If they are, then scan a printout of the output from that page, printout of your profile showing the biometrics number and an LOE to explain what you have written above (i.e. biometrics from a previous application). In your LOE also ask if you need to go for biometrics again or make payment for it again, given your explanation. Upload as a single doc in the placeholder, if any and don't forget to transmit. Then send all these again by webform and call IRCC (details on how to call on page 1 post 6).

It could be that the person reviewing your file has incorrectly assumed the biometrics is recent and is querying why there was no payment without realising it is old bio from a previous application or that your bio is no longer valid.

Where you apply from doesn't matter except maybe in terms of which PCCs are needed and where you do your medicals. Page 1 may be a good guide regardless of location.....if you read through the thread, you'll see comments from others who also applied from the UK.

You really don't need a consultant once you are able to diligently read the requirements which are simple and clearly stated.

POF can be in your currency of choice, any foreign currency USD GBP CAD would be my advice since Naira loses value over time. These and more are covered on page 1 and the FAQs.

I need info on this too, for someone considering PR route, and living in Europe, do I need to keep my funds in naira to use as pof?

DeejahAJ:
I want to ask about POF. My husband is the main applicant and myself and our child will accompany him, his program starts Jan 2024.

The question is that since we live in Europe, will it be an issue to have part of our proof of funds in our Nigerian account and part in our account here. This is cos I have some funds in my Firstbank account which we wish to use as part of POF. Do you think that the VO will have problem with us saving some of our money in Nigeria?

Also, since my husband is the main applicant, do I need to do an affidavit that the money is available to him as well, or should I just transfer all the money to him and then we explain how the lump sum came to be?

Thanks in advance for suggestions?

Aside school, what other route can one use to Canada from the abroad

sudo1986:
PCC is not compulsory for those applying from their country of origin. If you are applying from abroad, you must provide it by force.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Hgold(m): 5:20pm On May 18, 2023
Just curious and not related, but do people use fake pof for Canada application?

Ilueh:

MFBs are red flags to VOs, send the money into your normal bank account and show proof of where it’s coming from.
Also, fixed deposits are not available funds, they can be used to show where subsequent funds will come from, not funds required at the point of application. Liquidate the fixed funds into your account and show proof of the investment too, goodluck.

P0125 - Insufficient Coolant Temperature For Closed Loop Fuel Control

The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is used to monitor the temperature of the engine coolant. The resistance of the sensor varies with the actual coolant temperature.

The code is detected when the ECM monitors the ECT signal voltage after engine start-up. If, after sufficient time has passed, the sensor still reports that the engine is not warm enough for closed-loop fuel control the ECM interprets this as a fault in the sensor or cooling system and sets a Detected Trouble Code (DTC).

Possible causes:
* Low engine coolant level
* Leaking or stuck open thermostat
* Faulty Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
* ECT sensor harness is open or shorted

P0016, P0017: Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A)

The Engine Control Module (ECM) optimizes the valve timing by using the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system to control the intake and exhaust camshafts. As a result of the angle change, the engine timing is advance or retard.

Optimizing engine timing will help the engine improve torque and fuel economy, and the exhaust emissions decrease under overall driving conditions. The Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system includes the Oil Control Valve (OCV) and VVT controller.

The ECM detects the actual intake valve timing using signals from the camshaft and crankshaft position sensors, and performs feedback control.

Signs of a failing Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A)
* Engine Light ON
* Lack/Loss of power
* Engine rough idle

Possible causes
* Dirty Oil
* Timing Chain Has Jumped a Tooth or Stretched
* Faulty Variable Valve Timing (VVT) sensor
* Variable Valve Timing (VVT) sensor circuit is open or shorted
* Variable Valve Timing (VVT) sensor poor electrical connection
* Damaged Engine Control Module (ECM)

Possible causes of oil shortage in your car engine:
You are using a lighter oil which vaporizes faster upon heating.
Get someone to rev it for you while you stand behind the car to observe the smoke coming out of the tailpipe. There might be an internal leakage from the piston rings, head gasket, or the valve seal. However, get a professional to diagnose the car in order to ascertain the problem.

Also, desist from using Mobil oil, it is bad for your engine.
