Religion / Re: "How Do You Preach To Someone Who Is Deeply Involved In Occultism And Sorcery?" by Hiccups: 10:31am On Sep 17, 2017

The most important question is how do you know one is practicing these? While it is true there are increasing numbers of people who are into Sorcery or occult, our basis of conclusion may be wrong.

Preaching to cultist or sorcerer is no different from others but cases of these group accepting the gospel are often associated with encounter (spiritual) not just preaching. This is because a good numbers of them have better knowledge of the bible than most Christians. However, such knowledge are used for evil purposes.

My humble suggestion is to pray more that they have encounter with God, preach less to them

Religion / Re: Is Eternity In Hellfire A Fair Punishment For Sin? by Hiccups: 10:41pm On Sep 04, 2017
701ecilana:

@bolded got me. Let me say this, The mercy of God is for man while in the flesh, not when he has died and become a spirit. If God's mercy is for the Spirits, Satan would have obtained that Mercy.

The Justice of God is that God will keep his words.

Remember that God never created Hellfire for man, any man who goes there is doing that by choice.

Hellfire burns forever not for a million years an stops. In their realm of the spirit, there's no time.

This is just what I posted earlier, what scriptural backing do you have to these claims of yours? Do you know Christ himself when he died went to preach in spirit prison? (1 Peter 3:18-19). Why would Christ preach to spirits in spirit prison if no mercy for spirit? Please understand your Bible first, do not use human wisdom in things of God. One love.

Unfortunately, there's a rising cases of either pernicious misapprehension or misrepresentation (or both) of scriptures in Christianity. Regardless of religion, I always encourage people to focus on principles not doctrines. The former are applicable to life, the later is solely to grow in intelligence.

The issue of hell is more of doctrine than principle. Having said that there is no guarantee one would stay for eternity in hell, this is because God is both just and merciful, the just God will have pay for your sins in hell but the merciful God will also tamper justice with mercy by ensuring you are out of hell after relatively paying for your sins.

Religion / Re: What Does Sunday Mean To You by Hiccups: 2:49pm On Jul 30, 2017
onyeka205:

There was nowhere in the bible that it was indicated that Sunday is the Lord's day

I agree with you, but there was no where either were Easter Sunday was mentioned and I'm certain you not bothered about the Bible saying anything about Easter Sunday. What does Easter Sunday represents? How did we arrived at such conclusions as per the day? Do you Rely on your bible or history to respond to these questions?

onyeka205:

Daniel prophesied about the death of Jesus in Daniel 9:27. Use king James version for better understanding. Based on this prophesy, Jesus died in the middle of the week, which is Wednesday evening and stayed in the grave for complete 72 hours.

Daniel in his prophecy used the word 'midst' of the week and you erroneously concluded the word 'midst' implied 'middle' as used by Daniel. This does not add up, since 'midst' simply implied 'within' the week. What Daniel pointed out was that it was neither beginning or ending day of the week but some other day in the midst (within) the week.

onyeka205:

The women could not see him rising because they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the scripture but when they went there at the dawn of the first day of the week, he had already risen (Matthew 28:1).
Here you counter your initial claim, since the Jewish Sabbath is same with Saturday of our Calendar and there's no where in history or theology that suggests Christ resurrection was on Jewish Sabbath.

onyeka205:

You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free (John 8:32)
This line was unnecessary, the truth here referred to Christ (John 14:6).

Find out the history behind Good Friday, Easter Sunday and The Lord's day, you will be guided accordingly.

Finally, Christ resurrected on a Sunday (The Lord's day) and couldn't have died on a Wednesday.

While attending Sunday church service on this day should be encouraged, it does not completely represent the purpose of Sundays. The Sabbath (Saturdays of calendar) purposes were clearly stated in Bible. However, The Lord's day (Sundays of Calendar) represents when Christ resurrected. Believers have now adopted The Lord's day as Sabbath, therefore, attending church service on Sundays should be encouraged, but reflection on Original purpose of The Lord's day shouldn't be down played by so doing.

Thanks Hiccups. I have been able to see them at NDDC. It seems that 2015 set of scholars have issues. I was told the new management was told there was fraud in the system and that was what halt the payment.

.

There is no fraud in the system other than the bolded lies from NDDC, what fraud are they claiming? Was it perpetuated by scholars? Was there no fraud when NDDC earlier blamed delayed payment on FOREX earlier on? NDDC under Nsima Ekere is fraud itself

Forget the many reasons. Obedience is fundamental, subconscious and imperative. In schools, family, relationships, place of work, or anywhere in life (even Nairaland), obedience is a must, you may have work, into words like 'compliance', 'enforcement', 'policies', 'regulations', 'terms and conditions', etc., which indicates obedience.

Most times God bless anyone, its as a result of obedience to the law upon which such blessing are predicated.

1. Why go to church?
2. Why fellowship with church?
3. Why go to a particular church?
4. Why fellowship with a particular church?
5. Why do we attend church every Sundays?

These are distinct questions, whereas the first two are broader and difficult to respond to, the other three is more specific, @op I want to believe one of the last three should be your intended question.

Hi, does nddc pay yearly or is it a one off payment.? Given a scenario where someone has masters program for 2years

NDDC scholarship award letter clearly states the value of scholarship covers tuition and upkeep for ONE academic year for Masters. However, PhD is for three academic year. This is because NDDC structured the scheme using UK system.

In the case of 2 years Masters program, I will suggest the person asked the university in focus for admission letter with tuition fees covering program duration, this LoA may be submitted to NDDC to pay up tuition at once and forward the balance (if any) to the scholar foreign account
