The Ondo State chapter of the Labour Party has expressed concern over the omission of its logo on the ballot papers.

The ballot papers were sent to the state for the upcoming presidential and National Assembly elections.

Mr Agbaje Abiodun, the party’s secretary, revealed that there was an omission of the party’s logo on the ballots provided by the INEC. He made this revelation while speaking at a press briefing in Akure, the state capital on Friday.

These ballot papers are for the National Assembly (Senate and House of Representatives) elections. Also, Abiodun expressed his dissatisfaction with the exclusion of the party’s logo on the ballot papers.

Additionally, Abiodun stated that the party’s candidates’ names in the state were sent to the INEC. However, it was surprising that the party’s logo was omitted from the ballot papers.

This is sad and terrible news for the Labour Party family in Enugu State and Nigeria. A report reaching Politainment.net is that the Labour Party candidate for Enugu East Senatorial district, Oyibo Chukwu has been assassinated, days before the election.

Reports have emerged that a lawyer, identified as Oyibo, was attacked while returning from a campaign trip in the Agbani area. According to sources, Oyibo was burnt alive inside his vehicle.

However, it is unclear how many people were in the vehicle at the time of the attack or how many persons were killed.

Details of the attack are still sketchy. But a top member of the party has confirmed the incident, requesting that they not be quoted until the family has been notified.

Sadly, it is not yet certain who carried out the attack or what their motivations were.

Terrible things are happening. This particular one is heartbreaking. The sad news reaching Politainment.net earlier today is that a 20-year-old boy got drowned in Akwa Ibom State.

The boy who went swimming with a group of friends got drowned in the river in Nduetong. His body has not been found.

Sadly, this heart-breaking incident happened around 1 pm. Although eye witness said that the boy went a little deep into the water, the friends never thought he will get drowned as this was not the first time they go swimming.

Also, it was said that the boy, popularly known on Facebook as Itz Franco Jnr, was with two of his close friends when this incident happened. The villagers of Nduetong are shocked by the news. They are shocked because this has never happened before in the community.

Officials from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) visited banks in Gombe State on Monday to ensure that the new naira notes are being properly circulated in the state.

The CBN team was led by Mr. Yusuf Philip-Yila, the Director of Development Finance at CBN Headquarters.

Philip-Yila said the monitoring exercise was to make sure that banks were following the new CBN guidelines on how to make cash available to the public.

He said that the exercise was also part of efforts to protect against violations of CBN guidelines, as well as address challenges that militate against cash circulation in the state.

He warned banks that any attempt to sabotage the circulation of the new notes would be met with stern punishment.

Ado Hadi, a 21-year-old Nigerian footballer playing for CD Madridejos in Spain’s Terceira division, tragically passed away.

He passed away during a match against SP Cabanillas on Sunday. Hadi reportedly collapsed without any reason behind it in the 39th minute of the game. And despite efforts from the medical team, he could not be revived. Sadly, he has pronounced dead shortly after.

A man named Daramola Olanrewaju has caused the death of a bus conductor named Michael. This was while trying to collect N500 “police fee” at Ketu Bus Stop in Lagos State.

Olanrewaju was reportedly working for some police officers attached to the Ketu Police Station when the incident occurred on February 3rd.

Lout Drags Lagos Conductor to Death
The conductor and Olanrewaju had an argument when the conductor refused to pay the fee. This led to Olanrewaju dragging the conductor from the bus. The conducted was eventually hit and killed by an oncoming vehicle.

The witness stated that Olanrewaju was arrested and taken to the Ogudu Police Station. However, the driver of the vehicle, Jemiu, was also detained.

A bus driver named Taiwo Akanni expressed concern over the growing power of louts working for the police in the area. And he claimed that commercial drivers were being constantly harassed and extorted by them.

In his words:

“This is not the first time these louts will be dragging someone from a moving bus. It was just unfortunate that the man died. They harass and behave anyhow to us even in front of their masters, the police officers. This needs to stop! The power those police officers gave them is too much and that is why we are having this kind of issue.”

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident. He added that the investigation was ongoing.
