Politics / Re: 2023 Governorship Election Results From Polling Units by HistoryBuff: 4:58pm On Mar 18, 2023
I would like to ask some of the APC supporters here some questions. Everyone is entitled to support whichever party they like. Although I believe the performance of the APC government does not justify their re-election, it is your prerogative to support them if you so wish. But my questions are shouldn't we all be unified in wanting a fair process? Don't we want to give the people an opportunity to express themselves freely? Why does it seem like you are cheering the condemnable widespread violence we are seeing today? Do the ends justify the means? Is it victory at any cost? Please I would like to hear from you and please let's be civil to each other. I don't like a lot of the insults I've been seeing, especially those of an ethnic nature. Let's all work together to help our country progress. God bless Nigeria.

I've been comparing the results of the few units that have been uploaded to IREV for the gubernatorial election in Lagos to the results in the same polling unit on 25th February. What you notice is that most of them the APC is getting similar numbers today as during the presidential election, in some cases even more. But I think the most shocking I've seen so far is Junction of Ohafia St./Okota Palaceway in Oshodi/Isolo LGA under Okota ward with PU code 24/18/09/022. In this polling unit, the result uploaded for the gubernatorial election today is exactly the same as that of the presidential election. The same numbers for everything, for all the parties even the number of rejected ballots. The date is even the same. How can they not even make an attempt to change the figures. It's so brazen.

Here's the link for the presidential election:

Politics / Re: "Peter Obi Won 19 States, FCT In iREV Portal Collation" - Obidients by HistoryBuff: 12:12pm On Mar 06, 2023
I think something INEC needs to do is to make it possible to upload the results at the polling unit through the BVAS directly to the server in front of everyone, and not just a picture of the result sheets. That way, when you open the website, you can see a running total of the votes at the presidential, state, ward and polling unit levels. And these totals would be updating in real-time as more polling units upload their results. At the moment, it seems you have to manually add the results polling unit by polling unit to find out the total and it shouldn't be so. The point of technology is to make such things easier. That would help fix this problem of a discrepancy between the announced result and the summation of the result sheets. For example I was going through the results for Rumuodomaya ward of Obio-Akpor LGA of Rivers State, and in some of the polling units instead of the result sheet, you find a letter from an INEC official apologising because the result sheets of several polling units are missing. So all the hundreds or thousands of people who voted in those polling units have been disenfranchised because their votes have been lost. But if both the result sheets and the actual results were uploaded at each polling unit, we would have had them instantly. You know in America there is no central electoral body like INEC, but their elections work because results are transmitted and updated in real-time. These things are not difficult, but unfortunately the people in charge have no incentive to implement them because that would lead to their defeat. We must find a way to compel them to do the right thing, even if it goes against their interests.

Travel / Re: All TEF Candidates For Canada Immigration, Let's Meet Here! by HistoryBuff: 12:50pm On Jan 25, 2022
Hello everyone. I will soon be finishing my B1 class and so I am obviously thinking more seriously about the exam that I am supposed to write at the end of all of this. I am conflicted between TEF and TCF. I know they are both acceptable for immigration purposes but I don't know if one is better than the other.

So, I would like you guys' learned opinion on what the difference is between the two and if you would recommend one over the other. For example, someone was telling me that while TEF has negative marking, TCF does not. He also said that while TEF makes a distinction between a high B2 and a low B2, TCF simply has B2. Now I'm not sure what the ramifications of a low B2 would be for one's immigration application and I would really appreciate getting your opinion on this.

Thanks.

Hello everyone. I joined this platform yesterday just because of this thread. I am really learning from all of you.

I am new to this whole Canada immigration thing, but I would like to get a Permanent Residency and I would appreciate having you guys' advice and expertise as we go along.

I am 26 years old. I have a BSc and MSc in Engineering. I've worked for a year in the engineering department of a government agency. I've written IELTS and I got 8.0 overall, and the breakdown was: Listening = 9.0; Writing = 8.0; Speaking = 8.0; Reading = 7.5. I am currently taking French lessons, in fact I am almost done with my B1 class. I wrote the DELF A2 exam last month and got 90.5%. I intend to write the B1 exam in March and I'm certain I'll get a good score, and finally write TEF in June, God willing. I am also currently doing my WES evaluation and I hope to enter the pool once that is done. Using the CRS score calculator, I saw that if I get at least B2 across the 4 competencies in my TEF, then my CRS score would be around 515.

The problem now is I was told that there has been no FSW draw recently and no one I've asked is able on speculate on when next the draw will take place. I've also been told that the provinces are conducting their own draws, but I'm not sure how that works. Please can anyone give me advice on what to do next as I am confused. I would really like to get this Canada PR this year.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Religion / Re: Ashimolowo Makes His Son, Tobi, Resident Pastor Of KICC London (Video) by HistoryBuff: 3:54pm On Jan 24, 2022
Of course. I would expect no different from him or any of these pastors. The fastest, easiest, most stress-free way to make money in Nigeria is to open a church. Just rent a hall, get a good PA system and put a sign outside advertising signs, wonders, miracles, healing and deliverance. Perhaps run some adverts on the radio and you're set for life. It is a business that will never fail. After some years, you bring in your children as any good father would. Some of these pastors don't even believe in God yet they hoodwink their congregation into forking over millions to them. Perhaps I should look into becoming a pastor as well.
