This is always gonna be the situation where most Nigerians enjoy 'Gossips' rather than getting their information from professional journalism. The life of woman is on the line and some people would rather create a false story just to create attention for themselves! May I remind you, A life! is on the line. 16 Likes 3 Shares |

Crime / Couple Stabs 10-year -old Girl In Private Parts by Hoba007: 8:01am On Apr 20, 2015 |
A 10-year-old girl, Chidinma, has been admitted at an undisclosed hospital after a couple – Eucheria Chukwuma and Jerry Oko-Oboh – allegedly beat her up and stabbed her in the private parts with a broken bottle. It was learnt that the couple and the victim’s family lived on Joshua Street, Agbabiaka, in the Ajangbadi area of Lagos. It was learnt that the couple assaulted the minor for allegedly fiddling with the vagina of their three-year-old daughter, Peace. PUNCH Metro gathered that Chidinma, who denied the allegation, had played with Peace at about 7pm on April 6. It was alleged that the toddler later cried and told her parents that Chidinma fiddled with her private parts. Angered by the complaint, 30-year-old Chukwuma, it was learnt, went to Chidinma’s mother, Ofia, demanding that Chidinma follow her to her room. Source- http://www.punchng.com/metro-plus/couple-stabs-10-year-old-girl-in-private-parts/ A few minutes later, Ofia reportedly heard her daughter screaming and rushed to Chukwuma’s apartment to see what was wrong. On getting there, the door was said to have been locked by the couple who reportedly beat up the victim repeatedly with punches. Not satisfied, the wife allegedly stabbed Chidinma in the private parts and smeared them with pepper. Our correspondent was told that the couple fled the neighbourhood when blood started gushing from Chidinma’s vagina. They were later trailed and arrested by the police after the attack was reported at the Okokomaiko Police station. The police said Chukwuma, in a statement she voluntarily made at the station, confessed to the crime, saying she became furious when the girl declined comments about Peace’s allegation. She and her husband were subsequently arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court on three counts bordering on assault. The offence, according to the police prosecutor, Olusoji Ojaokomo, is punishable under sections 171, 243 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011. The charges read in part, “That you, Eucheria Chukwuma, 30 and Jerry Oko-Oboh, 32 on April 6, 2015, at about 9pm on Joshua Street, Agbabiaka, Oke-Agbo, Ajangbadi, in the Ojo Magisterial District, did conspire to commit felony and unlawfully assaulted one 10-year-old Chidinma, by beating her up with fist blows in her eye, which caused her harm. “That you, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district, did unlawfully assault one Chindima by stabbing her with a broken bottle in her private parts.” The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence. The presiding magistrate, Mr. P.A. Adekomaya, admitted them to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with a surety each in like sum. He added that they be remanded in prison custody until their bail conditions were perfected. The case was adjourned till May 13, 2015 for mention. |

For those who are still living in PERCEPTION, here is a link: [/quote In the latest report by TI, Nigeria is ranked the 39th most corrupt country in the world out of the 175 surveyed. SirPedro001: Welcome oooo! English teacher, i don't want to insult anybody but i guess you didn't read my comment properly. How can you steal without being dishonest!? Being corrupt means you are in a way doing something illegal, by the definition of stealing it says 'taking another's person property' money meant infrastructure development that politicians divert into their private accounts are they not over 170m Nigerians property!?. The point you failed to understand and the clueless one failed to point out is, there is no way you commit one the offence (stealing or corruption) without directly or indirectly committing other one. Do not let the clueless one confused you, no leader in world would say on national Tv that stealing is not corruption no matter what the English definition is. |

Ops, You are just as stupid and clueless as your president, the question you need to ask yourself what is the meaning or definition of the world 'corruption', which means 'dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery', what is the definition of 'stealing' it means; taking (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it. All these babbling and mumbling of the sadistic bastard just to safe face isn't working. There are only three types of people that would vote for the clueless one, the hypocrites, their types have being with us for centuries, God didn't speak well of the hypocrites, the Evil doers, those ones are the corrupts politicians, corrupt Nigerians, the drug dealers they know if buhari becomes the president is longer business as usual for them and lastly, the stupid ones and they constitutes 90% of the people supporting the clueless one, reason a state governor would say he knows the president has done nothing for his people but he would still vote for him. If you sat down and watched the rambling of the clueless one on Tv yesterday and you are convince about what he said about differentiating corruption from stealing, then you are part of that 90%. 41 Likes 4 Shares |

Romance / I Regret Slashing My Girlfriend’s Neck–lagos Barber by Hoba007: 6:35am On Jan 03, 2015 |
Eighteen-year-old Boluwatife Ajadi had been looking forward to enjoying the New Year festivity with her family in peace and happiness, but she spent it in agony on a hospital bed, hanging on to life. Boluwatife, who finished secondary school in September 2014, fell victim of a vicious attack by a scorned suitor, a young man who had been seeking her hand in a romantic friendship, around 11pm on December 30, 2014. But the culprit, 21-year-old Sakiru Buari, insisted that Boluwatife was his girlfriend. When our correspondent visited Samas Hospital, a private health facility in Baruwa area of Lagos, there was no way of speaking with Boluwatife. She had been unable to speak since the attack, her family said. The girl had been induced to sleep by the hospital staff. Her elder sister, Adeola, who narrated what happened, said she had feared that her sister might not survive the attack which left a long and deep gash on her neck. A picture of the fresh wound showed part of the girl’s neck, flesh that is almost the size of a palm, hanging loose. “The man used a razor to cut her neck,” Adeola began. “There was no doubt that he actually wanted to kill her. It all started about 11pm when we were hearing a noise outside our house on Alhaja Wasilat Street, Baruwa. Someone was shouting ‘thief, thief’ and we all rushed outside but I did not realise my sister was not inside with us. “When I went outside, I saw someone staggering towards us holding her neck. She was struggling to call for help. By the time I realised it was my sister, she collapsed on the ground.” Saturday PUNCH learnt that soon after the attack, neighbours who had heard Boluwatife’s initial alert for help, were able to catch Buari who had attempted to flee at the time. “When they caught him, the man was even saying that he regretted that she did not die. All I could do was scream for help as I went to where my sister collapsed. “At that time of the night, nobody was willing to help us. No vehicle stopped for us to take her to the hospital. At a point, I had to go to the middle of the road pleading for help. A doctor holds Boluwatife’s flesh in place to stop bleeding during treatment at a hospital “Eventually, a young man at the scene picked her up from the ground and carried her towards the nearest hospital with the help of other eyewitnesses.” By the time Boluwatife got to the hospital, she had lost so much blood that her soaked clothes were dripping blood, it was learnt. Banging on the door of the hospital with screams, those who carried Boluwatife were admitted into the compound as the doctor on duty went to work on the barely conscious girl. Adeola, said she had never seen the man who attacked her sister before that day and was sure he was not her sister’s boyfriend. “The man must not escape justice,” she said. Their father, Gabriel, said he was not at home at the time of the attack but could not imagine what could have pushed the man to want to kill her daughter. He said, “I even thought she was dead when I was called to the scene and saw the amount of blood on the ground. “The place looked like a slab where an animal had been slaughtered. We are lucky that residents of our street called the beast who did this to my daughter. “He said it to my face that he had no regret for what he did and was even angry that she survived the attack. At least, we are happy that he had confessed to the attack and we cannot wait to see him off to jail.” The police at the Ipaja Division, Baruwa, have taken Buari into custody with promises that the suspect would be prosecuted appropriately since he had confessed to the crime. The Divisional Police Officer, Mr. Ajewole Adebayo, a Chief Superintendent of Police, said Buari would be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigations, Yaba, Lagos, as soon as his men had finished their part of the investigations. When our correspondent and child and woman rights activist, Esther Ogwu, visited the police division, Buari, who was still wearing the clothes soiled with bloodstains, had caked blood on his hands. “I don’t know what came over me at the time,” he said. The young man who said he was from Abeokuta, Ogun State, explained that he dropped out of school in senior secondary year one. “She is my girlfriend and I don’t have any reason to kill her. We did not fight. I just don’t know the spirit that came over me at the time I brought out a razor and slashed her neck. I know now that what I did was terrible,” he said, as he looked away with. Buari said both his parents were dead and that the only known relation he had was in Abeokuta. He said he works as a barber even though he did not have a shop of his own. Ogwu, who has taken over the girl’s case, said that the most important evidence of the case would be the explanation of the victim herself. “Unfortunately, she is not in any condition to speak at this time. But like every case of assault involving women, we would ensure that the girl gets justice in this case,” she said. Education / Why Does it take so long for Part-time students to get their Result? by Hoba007: 4:24pm On Nov 22, 2014 |
This is a serious issue that has been plaguing Nigeria tertiary Institution. I'm a victim myself both my ND and HND programmes were run on part-time basis, a normal ND programme that takes a full time student less than 2years to complete will take a part-time student 3years but the most annoying part is, after completion of the programme only a full time student gets their results 3-4months after, sometimes even faster,It might take some few years before a part-time would get theirs. I had my ND programme with LASPOTECH from 2001-2004 and I got my result in june 2006, after begging and pleading for the result to be issued. Have heard of part-time students in LASU still waiting to get their result(at least notification) 2,3,4 and 5years after completion of their programmes with no references in their courses. Unlike tertiary Institution like Laspotech, LASU, Ibadan Poly and others, Unilag and Yabatech has been an example for them to follow where they issue at least Notification of result 3-4months after completion of programmes. I have a friend who just finished his part-time programme with Ibadanpoly, he wrote his last paper in october last year,he also said he enrolled for this programme in 2010 and two sets of FULL student have graduated during the course of his programme, up this moment he doesn't know when he's going get his result. It's painful and frustrating when you realised that you paid at least 300-400% of what a Full time student paid. You see these tertiary institution management behaving as if they are doing the student a favour, whereas the students are the ones doing them a favour because they grow pot belly during course of your programme , some of them get to marry more wives, some get new cars. Part - time students are continuously made to pay outrageous school expenses which they always do, hoping they will get what they are looking. Most people wouldn't want to run Part-time programmes if given an option but we are victims of circumstances , like I said before both my ND and HND were run on part- time basis because if I don't finance my education myself nobody will. It's disheartening and painful that after starving yourself, depriving yourself of so many things so that you would be able to pay your school fees, some people will just hold onto your result for 2-5years!!! Some will people will never God face. 1 Like |

Health / Why Ebola Remains Incurable –UK Doc by Hoba007: 8:00am On Aug 04, 2014 |
Pharmaceutical companies are unwilling to invest in vaccines and research to cure the deadly Ebola disease because it is only killing Africans, a leading UK doctor has claimed. The President of the UK Faculty of Public Health, Prof. John Ashton, has claimed no cure for the disease has been discovered because it so far has only affected powerless minorities. He likened the response to that of Aids, for which treatments were developed only when it started affecting Western countries. The current Ebola outbreak – which has no vaccine, no cure and kills up to 90 per cent of victims – is currently ravaging the West African countries of Guinea, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Liberia. There have been 729 deaths from 1,329 confirmed cases of Ebola in this year’s epidemic – making it the largest Ebola outbreak in history. Writingin the Independent on Sunday <http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/theyd-find-a-cure-if-ebola-came-to-london-9644515.html>, Prof. Ashton said: ‘We must respond to this emergency as if it was in Kensington, Chelsea, and Westminster. ‘We must also tackle the scandal of the unwillingness of the pharmaceutical industry to invest in research to produce treatments and vaccines, something they refuse to do because the numbers involved are, in their terms, so small and don’t justify the investment. ‘This is the moral bankruptcy of capitalism acting in the absence of an ethical and social framework.’ WHO Director-General, Margaret Chan, has also warned the virus is currently moving faster than efforts to control it. She said, ‘This outbreak is moving faster than our efforts to control it. If the situation continues to deteriorate, the consequences can be catastrophic in terms of lost lives, severe socioeconomic disruption and a high risk of spread to other countries.’ Speaking at a meeting in Guinea’s capital, Conakry, she told the presidents of Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast that the virus could be stopped. But she said that cultural practices such as traditional burials were a significant cause of its spread. Meanwhile, Emirates, the Mideast’s largest airline, said today it had halted flights to Guinea because of concerns about the spread of the Ebola virus. Culled from the Punch. |
