Politics / Re: Nigeria Begins Use Of Cement For Road Construction Against Asphalt. by hod898(m): 1:04pm On Oct 11, 2013
Not bad, not bad. But will the roads also be painted with oil paint for beauty? undecided

Just kidding grin
At least the cost of maintainance will be cheaper? And the pot-holes can easily be patched since the road was constructed with cement!
Politics / Re: Guinea Bissau Apologises To Nigeria Over Attack On Embassy by hod898(m): 11:08am On Oct 10, 2013
So sad cry Nigerians are hated in many countries bcoz of their uniqueness. They always survive and thrive in any part of the world. They are just so special. The thing is just for many of them to discover their potentials. Otherwise, why would they be treated badly in many countries? Isn't this jealousy? They always succeed wherever they go!
That's why our country will become one of the strongest with time. cool
RIP TO THE ONE WHO LOST HIS/HER LIFE. cry
Education / Re: Christians Protest Merger Of Schools By Aregbesola by hod898(m): 11:05am On Oct 08, 2013
The truth is the Christian students have no problem living or working with muslims, no. They only foresaw what might happen in the future with the merger of the schools. Merging them might bring favouritism, tribalism or what have you. In an attempt to merge the schools, the saw that that would be the advent of another remarkable historical record of the school. This is because the school's name will definitely be changed, its uniform, its curriculum, standards and laws; then, all the efforts and perseverance of the founding missionaries would have been futile, because a new history will, even if not said, be recognized--that the govt. founded the 'new school'. These are their fears, who blames them? They are rightfully fighting to save their legacy.

Religion / Re: What If You Were Left Behind After Rapture? by hod898(m): 5:17pm On Oct 07, 2013
oremisussan: I just hope I get to be the only one left behind.

I would carry a disc player, listening to Tuface's "If to say na just meeee."

I would trek to Dubai, then Siberia, and then Haiti.

I would leave everything called caution at Haiti and then swim back to Nigeria via the Pacific.

I would...

O Gosh! When will it happen, abeg? That rapture!
Sorry.
Education / Re: ASUU Strike: NUPENG Threatens Solidarity Action by hod898(m): 4:45pm On Oct 07, 2013
If they should stop the distribution of petr products, transportation will be costly, kerosine and other by-products of petroleum will become costly as well. This union should give a second thought to their proposed strike bcoz its the masses that will feel the frustration, there'll be fuel scarcity and that means long chains of vehicles at different filling stations. So no, I'm not in support of their idea. undecided
Health / Re: 'Bug-Chasers' - People Trying To Catch HIV/AIDS by hod898(m): 5:54pm On Oct 06, 2013
This is what you always get when demoralising acts are accepted in the name of freedom and human rights. I knew that gay marriage is so not going to be the peak of such bad act, I knew that in the future, they would bring something worse than gayism. Still don't believe me? Then watch and see what will happen in the next two yrs if this demonism is not controlled. Satan is never short of ideas, he will keep on perverting and polluting the minds of the unwary. Now is the time to call on Jesus Christ.

repogirl: awright, thats it for now. My next chapter should be the final, if all goes well. thanks for your patience and impatience, all join.
Ehem... I've been following this thread from the very first chapter but, I haven't commented even once, only studying people's--and I mean everybody. Well, I'm not used to this but I must apologise for been a ghost reader for such an enthralling novel that sees into the life of the rich and poor, love and hate using two protagonists without actually becoming sentimental. What makes this novel sing is its supple apprehension of love, jealousy, hate, romance, intelligence and reality, and its sense that love conquers all snares of jealous vipers, allowing hope to endure. Repogirl, you are a fantastic author with a brilliant future. Keep the flag of genius flying, I love your story. God bless. smiley

Religion / Re: Oritsejafor To Jonathan - Give Half Of Your Salary To The Poor by hod898(m): 3:42pm On Oct 02, 2013
striktlymi: This is indeed very funny. The last time I checked the president of CAN, the 'good' Pastor Oritsejafor is a very wealthy man.

Has he given half of his wealth to the poor? If he hasn't then what moral right does he have to ask President GEJ and other politicians to do same?
That's why its good to understand a text before commenting. The pastor gave a 'suggestion' and not an obligation. It is the job of the fg to take good care of the youths and not the pastor. Oritsejafor, having noticed that the fg does NOTHING to combat abject poverty especially among youths, decided to mind a suggestion for the fg. I believe you are not a victim of poverty and that's the reason why you don't know what this suggestion mean to the poor. Speak in relation to the matter and not in relation to what you think at once.

Indiscipline!
But what would make them want to leave?
What were the planning?
Is anyone else involved in this?
Are some questions we OUGHT TO ASK ourselves before crucifying them. When proper investigations have been made, the children can then be disciplined appropriately afterwards.
Politics / Re: President Jonathan’s Nigeria At 53 Speech - Full Text by hod898(m): 8:20am On Oct 01, 2013
May God also bless you, your excellency.
I respect GEJ for who he is. I liked it when he said that no matter the challenges we face, we are on the right path to greatness. Truly we must stand with commitment and resolve to fight division. There is strength in unity--so everyone says. He is right by saying that if we do not despair we shall reap the reward of our labour in due season.
This is what I took note of in his speech:
-Our nation is made great through small and big folks.
-History has proven that nations take time to develop.
-The trials we face may be real and immediate, but we are not alone; every country faces challenges. Whether rich or poor, what matters the most are the lessons we learn from our experiences and the wisdom we demonstrate.
-The spectra of extremism haunts every democracy around the world.
-No cause will be spared, no idea ignored, and no resource will be left untapped for the good development of our dear country.
-Fellow Nigerians, this is a time to put behind our national cause, we must rekindle the spirit of Nigeria so that everybody, rich and poor will live a life of freedom.
-No matter the challenges we face, we are on the right path to greatness.
-I've been consistently mindful to the public expectations. In all I've done, I've strived to lead Nigeria to the right path and I can say that Nigeria, under my administration, will not fail.
-Our constitution is anchored on the idea of freedom; freedom of speech, freedom of demonstration and freedom to vote and be voted for.
-Democracy encourage values, discord and disagreement. This is the joy of democracy: when it works, it does not destroy a nation but unites it.
-Fellow Nigerians, for the past 53 yrs, I've seen Nigeria evolve on an epic scale. This is our 4th Republic but that not withstanding, we last longer than the previous three put together-- that is progress.
-We must stand with commitment and resolve to fight every course of division. This is not the time for parochial political and religious sentiments. If we do not despair we shall reap the reward of our labour in due season.

-May God continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I wish you all a happy 53rd Independence Celebration.
It's good to listen to the thoughts of your leader before attacking them.
