For everyone who need the Cambridge books or any IELTS related book, please use the search bar on the very top of this page. Type in Cambridge IELTS and you’d see them there

Saw my result today... wrote on the 17th of Aug .. LRWS: 8.5, 8, 6.5, 7 .
I will apply for a remark. Although I’m still unsure how to go about it. I registered with BC. Do I wait till I receive the hard copy? Or can I apply for a remark now?

Hi Losami, yes headphones were used. All tests were conducted at the whitefield hotels and went great. You really don’t have anything to worry about. It was well organized in a timely manner.

@lative

Losami:
hello, how was the exam at the ilorin centre generally? did they use headphones ? I'm planning on writing at the centre soon.

Oh wow! The only thing delaying my eca with ces was the transcript (my copy) just for me to check after this to see that it’s not mandatory. Thank you so much for this. God bless you

TemiGee:
I used CES and I didn't send any student copy of transcript. Unless things have changed recently, I believe the only transcript required is official transcript and it should be sent directly from your school to CES via courier.

Lol congratulations! Can’t wait to congratulate you on ITA grin

I was about to to check my IELTS result and was feeling like using the toilet. Immediately I saw it, all the disturb vanished.

1st attempt was a success: 8/7/7/7.5 for LRWS respectively. I dey suspect that my reading o, but I will just leave it like that since CRS is @472

Thank you Lord for success.

For writing I will advise all those having difficulty, to answer task 2 first before task 1 since it carries more marks and d brain is a bit calm. Also, more important in this IELTS is learning synonyms. I will find time to compile list of common synonyms which one can easily use in writing later.

Hello everyone, I’ve been following the Express entry thread before I came across this. Hubby recently applied for study visa. Humber college for a Pgd and was refused. We just requested for GCMS notes and are awaiting that to know the next step.

Fingers crossed

I’m a newbie here but from what I’ve learnt so far, it’s never advisable to lie in your application. So it’s best you mentioned that you’ve been to Russia. I think your SOP/LOE needs to be very strong too. Over to the gurus

Captainteemo:
Good day everyone
I was introduced to this page by my brother. Please i need help with my case, as I’ve been trying to pursue it alone and i decided to seek assistance from the GURUS in the house.
I was in Russia for 4 years but due to language barrier and other circumstances I wasn’t doing well academically so i left and came back to Nigeria. I have been in Nigeria for almost 1 year now and i have been able to reflect and realize my mistakes that led me to this point, i want to get my life back on track so i have decided to apply to a Canadian university either for a diploma or a BSC but I don’t know what to do or how to go from here.
I know my age might be an issue as i am 26 years old and i do not even know if i should mention to CIC that i was in Russia before, please i need you guys help and suggestions thank you.

Yes we eventually used WES for hubby’s Uk degree following advice from our wonderful nairaland fam

bozz007:

Why do you want to use IQAS? takes 5-6months. Better to use WES for a UK masters

No, you won’t. You pay only one evaluation fee to WES not matter how many qualifications you’re evaluating. You’ll only make payment to waec here in Nigeria for processing

sambless2013:

Please will I pay for Waec evaluation separately if I'm sending it to WES?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by Holar0000: 12:39am On Jul 10, 2019
You can use your husband’s name if that’s what’s on your means of identification. There’s usually a place they ask for your maiden name if it’s different from your current name. Which body are you evaluating with? I’m no expert, this is from knowledge obtained while combing the internet

royal56:
Good evening great minds...please I would like to know if i should use my husband's surname, which is now mine, for ECA, or use maiden (former) name? I noticed there is no provision where I can upload my marriage certificate.
Treat as urgent, please.
Thanks

Oh wow *dancing* All the best @galibat by God’s grace, ITA will fall you!!!!!

amaya21:
Don't decline. You have 60 days to complete the application. Just upload everything else after ITA like that. For POF, just hang on till you're close to the end of the 60 day period.

Since you didn't claim points for his IELTS and ECA, it is not a problem. You can add these after ITA if you wish, in his personal history. 460 stands a good chance to get ITA tomorrow, barring any surprises from CIC.

If you don't get ITA tomorrow, go ahead to update your profile with whatever you can get over the next two weeks.

To the best of my knowledge, if you’re on 460 and cut off is 470, you can’t get picked. You’re currently waiting on hubby’s ECA and Test results so how do you know you might get ITA tomorrow? I mean without his test and ECA. Moreover, if you’re given ITA, you have 60 days I believe to submit all requested documents.

galibat:
Good morning everyone
I wish everyone speedy process
I just have a serious question to ask

Presently I am on 460 ( married, siblings point, masters ECA and ielts without my husband ECA and ielts). He wasn’t supposed to write ielts until the 470 draw saga started so he wrote July 6ths and results won’t be out till 19th...his ECA isn’t out yet too and the best time that I can get the remaining part of Pof is most likely September ending.
Every other document is ready except Pof , medical, PCC , spouse ECA and Ielts
Is it better to decline ITA if I even get ITA hopefully tomorrow so that we can wait till next ITA prolly when all his other documents are ready or Withdraw Application and start again when other documents are ready....

Interested please

godG:
Hi, everyone. From July 22 - August 20, I'm thinking of doing virtual pro-bono IELTS writing tutorials. It will be totally FREE.

You write, I give you feedback. Help you make sense of your thought process. You revise, you get more feedback. Then you write again. You will be doing a lot of writing during the period. One of the best ways to improve your writing is to learn by doing (writing).

Please note that I'm not going to perform any magic, I'm only going to help you rethink (and possibly unlearn) some of the things you know about writing and start writing the IELTS way. Everything will still come down to how much work you put in and how teachable you are.

I'm hoping to take on just 5 people. Again, it's totally free. Once we have five people who are interested, we can think of how to make it happen.

God bless.

Thank you so much. We’ve paid for his Wes evaluation.

Elektra008:

My advice for you, is that you should pick race o, and run very far from iqas. Your hubby has a UK masters, Pls use Wes, it is the fastest. And you won't need waec since it is foreign degree and it will be cheap though (227 cad) standard delivery. Iqas will take several months before it is ready, by then you could Prolly loose valuable points for age.

Good mornin fellow NL members. I have been on this Canada matter since 2017 but wasn’t serious. Right now ehn, I am over ready. We are a family of 3; hubby, myself and our daughter

Hubby will be the PA as he has a masters. He has written ielts twice now but the results are not strong I have read so many pages here about having 8777 (God help us). I will be writing my test next month but hubby needs to redo also (most likely next month).

We are both working on ECA at the moment. Will evaluate his with IQAS (A u.k masters degree). Mine with CES (Nigerian b.tech).

So far, I believe these are the two things we need to do to enter the pool. If we get all things right, we should have a crs of 472. I see the points have been coming down hopefully it favours us.

P.S I’m just telling my journey so when I get PR like this, my testimony go sweet una grin

Please all our seniors that have left for Canada, why are they all soooooo busy na embarassed na so Canada hard reach?

Your story is truly amazing! God bless you for sharing, new member on Nairaland smiley can’t wait to share my testimony. Please kindly share with us the tip to always get a 9 in reading. I’m writing my ielts test next month . Thank you

Thank
damihayjay:
Hello ppl.
Kindly get a chair, popcorn and a bottle of cold drink as this PPR gist  is a long one....
Firstly.. All thanks to God.... My journey is a testimony.
The Journey Begins
I first heard about this Canada thing from my older siblings... They had always told me to do IELTS and start my PR process and all but I never took them serious.

In January 2018,  I just got a new job in Lagos and the pay looked amazing for a young man who had lived all his life in Abeokuta. So when my siblings brought up the idea of writing  IELTS and starting the PR process again,  I just laughed and went pro Nigeria.....
Turning point
By the time the bills started hitting me gbas gbos from  April 2018 and Lagos started showing me it's true colours I started reconsidering my options. Canada won't be a bad place after all.

P. S. My sister introduced me to this thread as at part 6 and I can say I have read every post up till date...

WES Journey.
Having siblings and a forum like this really helped in gathering information that I needed.
I paid for my WES evaluation around May 2018 and It took almost 10 weeks for it to be completed...
I was lucky enough as my school (Private Uni) didn't delay one bit...
Whilst waiting for WES, I started preparing for IELTS.

IELTS hmmmm...
I Had written  IELTS twice before. The first was Academic and I got a 7.5average all thanks to the fact that I saw a pretty girl and lost concentration in my listening and couldnt answer questions 31-35.

I had learnt my lessons, so the second time( First time GT) I had an 88 7.5 6.5 LSWR in that order..

My reading was poor cos I disliked comprehension passages.
Then a friend told me he had 9 in reading. That was how ginger came ooo. I prepared seriously for IELTS. Focusing  more on the reading.. till I found the scope to answer the questions (u will always get a 9).
Village People part 1
After preparing so well for my exam..
Guess what, d VPA (Village People Association ) paid me a visit.
