Romance / Six Ways Technology Might Change Sex In The Future by holufemy: 8:17pm On Jul 25, 2015

Sex is as old as humanity itself, necessary to our continuation as a species, perhaps even to what makes us fundamentally us. We’re talking, of course, about inventing new stuff. Jeez. Get your mind out of the gutter.

Actually, there is no question that sex has evolved along with technology, from condoms to vibrators to sexting. So, how will our sex lives be different in a year? Or in 10 years? Or in even 20 to 30 years? We can’t be absolutely certain.

Guys Could Have a (Non-Condom) Birth Control Option

A new injection that acts as a temporary vasectomy for men, won’t protect against STDs — but in trials with baboons, it had 100% effectiveness in preventing pregnancy. The technology could be “on the market in 2016-2017,” but for those of you who can’t wait (and don’t mind a needle in a very sensitive area), human trials “start in early 2015.”
In related news, the days of girls exclusively being the ones who have to remember to pop a pill may soon be drawing to a close. Researchers in Indonesia have reportedly discovered that Justica gendarussa, a plant that’s common there, is 99% percent effective as birth control for men. It doesn’t alter male hormones, and may even increase libido. Don’t expect it stateside in the immediate future, but eager dudes could seek it out in Indonesia this year (although, we don’t recommend it).

More couples will stay intimate at a distance with smartphone-controlled intimacy gadgets

The old version of phone intimacy was always a little ridiculous, but “teledildonic” devices such as We-Vibe (along with its We-Connect app) and OhMiBod allow partners to create pleasurable vibrations from afar. These days, distance can make more than the heart grow fonder.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlwvVTCUjWg[/img]

Condoms will be totally different
Last year, Microsoft founder Bill Gates donated $100,000 to Australian researchers to develop a “next-generation condom … made to act and feel more like real skin.” Gates hopes that this “hydro gel” will feel completely natural and thus encourage more guys to practice safe sex. There is no estimated time of arrival to market on this Australian wonder condom, but Gates also has 10 other prophylactic prototypes in development. One of them has to change the game in the coming decade, right? This is Bill Motherf—ing Gates, after all!

Unhappy with your penis? Get a new one!

Scientists at North Carolina’s Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine are currently growing joysticks in laboratories. The technology doesn’t yet have FDA approval for human transplants — and will primarily be intended to help patients with traumatic injuries or diseases — but millions (billions?) of insecure guys are a pretty strong market incentive.

We’ll have telepathic long-distance sex

Yeah, those intimacy gadget smartphone apps are impressive now, but they’ll be old news in 10 years. Brain-reading technology, now being developed, will allow computers to scan your actual thoughts, feelings … and instructions.
As sexual clinician and author Robert Weiss prognosticates, “With a headband and a willing partner, those separated by distance because of work or school (or sheer laziness) will be able to merely think about stimulating their special someone and, viola … those thoughts become action.” All with no pube-trimming necessary. Will this really be going down within this decade? Well, according to Weiss, “If you think this isn’t happening in the near future, think again.” (A spinal cord stimulator can apparently achieve those results now, but requires surgery. No thanks!)

We may have “sex” with holograms of our favorite stars

Tupac’s resurrection via lifelike hologram at the 2012 Coachella Festival was chilling, not only because it allowed us to see the iconic rapper (kinda) alive once more, but because it ushered in an era of strikingly realistic holograms. Technology has already made interactive holograms possible. Considering that the proliferation of smart phone technology has caused the majority of porn watching to occur on mobile devices, it seems likely that within 10 years, our perverted minds will have bring this tech from the showroom to the bedroom and use these advances to help us simulate lifelike experiences with fantasy sex partners. It’s not cheating if it’s an optical illusion, right?

Car Talk / Five Ways Your Mechanics Can Rip You Off by holufemy: 7:59pm On Jul 25, 2015

Some mechanics are quarks, others are just ‘legit thieves’. Either way you don’t want to be in business with any of the two types of mechanic. This two types of mechanic can frustrate us. Here are the top five ways your mechanic can rip you off. If any of this has happened to you before, then its time to change mechanic

1. Charging for unnecessary repairs. I often hear that a mechanic diagnosed a problem, repaired it and – surprise, surprise – the problem was still there. They then re-diagnose it as a different problem and repair that. Sometimes, this repeats as the mechanic conducts the Ship of Theseus paradox in real life. Eventually, the mechanic repairs the original defect but charges the customer for all the repairs. As your gut is telling you, the mechanic shouldn’t charge the customer for the earlier, unnecessary repairs.

2. Overcharging for parts or labor. Most shops have a simple markup on parts. They buy them wholesale, mark them up and sell them to you with the job. The problem is that few people know what an actual part should cost. They also charge an outrageous amount for labor.

3. Misdiagnosing something that is not faulty. Sometimes to pad their bills, mechanics will tell a customer non-defective parts need to be replaced. Your brakes need to be resurfaced? They’ll tell you to get them replaced. Other parts on the car can be repaired? They’ll suggest replacement. Like unnecessary repairs, unneeded parts being sold to you is also illegal in Michigan and many other states.

Car Talk / Forbes 10 Most Expensive Cars by holufemy: 7:20am On Jul 19, 2015
Here are 10 of the most expensive street legal production cars on the market. Concept Cars are not included, only cars available in the market right now. All cars are 2014 and 2015 models.

10. Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG Coupe

Country of Origin: Germany
Engine: 621-hp, 6.0-liter, bi-turbo V-12
0-60 mph: 4.2 seconds
Starting price: $215,500
The Mercedes-Benz AMG division used to be a separate company that souped up stock Mercedes-Benz models. Bigger, more powerful engines continue to be the heart and soul of the AMG treatment, even though the company became a wholly owned subsidiary years ago. The engine in the Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG Coupe is a handcrafted V-12. The AMG tradition is that the individual master craftsman who builds each engine puts his signature on it when he’s finished. That’s not to say the end product is some quaint relic. Top speed is 186 mph, not bad for a car that could be used as a family car, unlike a two-seat racecar.

9. Aston Martin Vanquish

Country of Origin: United Kingdom
Engine: 565-hp, 6.0-liter V-12
0-62 mph (that is, 100 km per hour): 4.1 seconds
Starting price: $279,995
The Aston Martin Vanquish is a two-door hardtop coupe, which also comes as a convertible, called the Volante. It’s the first Aston Martin with lightweight but strong carbon-fiber body panels. Top speed is 183 mph. Aston Martin also offers a long list of personalized options like matching a favorite color to paint the exterior, or custom leather. Aston Martin calls the customized collection of options “Q by Aston Martin.” Aston Martin’s brand image is caught up with classic James Bond movies.

8. Bentley Mulsanne

Country of Origin: United Kingdom
Engine: 505-hp, 6.75-liter, twin-turbo V-8
0-60 mph: 5.1 seconds
Starting price: $298,900
Bentley calls the Bentley Mulsanne “the grandest of grand tourers.” The interior has features like wood veneers and leather upholstery made from “blemish-free” hides, from herds raised in cooler climates where there are fewer insects. Having said that, performance is pretty amazing, considering it weighs close to 6,000 pounds.

7. Ferrari F12berlinetta

Country of Origin: Italy
Engine: 740-hp, 6.3-liter, V-12
0-62 mph: 3.1 seconds
Starting ?price: $315,888
The Ferrari F12berlinetta (that’s how Ferrari writes it, all one word) has a top speed of “over 211 mph,” the company said. Not only that, it reaches 125 mph in only 8.5 seconds. Ferrari says it has the fastest acceleration of any road-going Ferrari – as opposed to Ferrari racecars, which are confined to the track.

6. Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase

Country of Origin: United Kingdom
Engine: 453-hp, 6.75-liter V-12
0-60 mph: 5.8 seconds
Starting price: $298,900
The Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase model is about nine inches longer than the standard-wheelbase. That extra room is most noticeable in the back seat, where the owner presumably will spend a lot of his or her time being driven around. The brand image is old-fashioned but Rolls-Royce’s current cars have high-tech features like cameras at five locations to watch out for obstacles when parking, and to project the predicted path on a screen when reversing.

5. Porsche 918 Spyder

Country of Origin: Germany
Engine: 887 hp (total output), 4.6-liter V-8 with two electric motors
0-62 mph: 2.5 seconds
Starting price: $845,000
Besides the hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain, other innovations include rear-wheel steering, where the rear wheels adjust slightly in turns. It can go up to 19 miles on battery power alone. By itself, the V-8 gasoline engine produces 608 hp. Like many race cars, the Porsche 918 Spyder is largely built of lightweight but strong carbon fiber-reinforced polymer. The lightweight, even more racing-oriented Weissach Package of options boosts the sticker price to $929,000.

Car Talk / Seven Ways To Know A Car's Mileage Has Been Changed by holufemy: 5:37pm On Jul 18, 2015
Many used car retailers change mileage on the odometer. This increases the worth and the bidding price of the car. With careful and patient consideration using the guidelines below you can easily know if a car has a wrong mileage.

1. Check car history report with VIN(Vehicle Identification Number) check

You can check car history reports online. It has most information about a particular car. I wrote about how to do this earlier, click here know how to do this. If history reports is missing or inaccurate use further steps below.

2. Examine the odometer for the number of miles.

Automobiles average about 12,000 miles a year. For example, if a car is 5 years old but has far fewer than 60,000 miles, the odometer may have been tampered with.
Look closely at the numbers on the odometer. Some auto makers program odometers to show an asterisk if the mileage is changed.
General Motors mechanical odometers have a black space between the numbers. If you see a white or silver space, the GM odometer probably has been changed.
Click 3 Below to See More Ways to Detect Mileage Fraud

3. Ask to see oil change and maintenance receipts and inspection stickers.

Examine the mileage on the receipts and inspection stickers and compare to the odometer. Inspection stickers can be found on door frames or windows.
