Tranquill:
That LGA chairman that insulted you openly was wrong and his conduct condemned by any decent person but Fubara like I said before, this problem you started was avoidable and unnecessary. Many of us are ready to stand against godfatherism but can not in good conscience see you as innocent.

Wike worked with the LGA chairmen and other stakeholders to make you governor. Just 2 months in office, you wanted to sack elected Chairmen and install people you say will be loyal to you because you want to build your “own structure”. JUST TWO MONTHS!. You were asked to at least wait till the end of their tenure and then conduct an election as it should happen. You started making trouble. Now, you deliberately refused to conduct election so that their tenure will run out and allow you appoint CTC and achieve your agenda of building your “own structure”.

Why the desperation to build your own structure? Why deliberately destroy the structure that made you governor and undermine all the people that worked to make you governor? Why do you think they sacrificed their ambitions and political careers for you to become governor? Why bite the fingers that fed you even when it’s totally uncalled for just 2 months in office? It’s the height of ingratitude if you ask me.

You are one the persons, contributing to the shame and disgrace we have in this country if you reason like this.
Who helped Wike to become governor? What's his relationship with them today? Everyone in position today, was helped by someone to be there, nobody came from heaven with any position. Are you aware that Ayo Fayose, warned Fubara about having issues with Wike, and you think it's a good example? Every politician who wants to be relevant, will always talk about structure. Why do think Tinubu was able to beat Prof. Yemi Osinbajo?
Are you aware, that they wanted to impeach the governor before his time? If you are in his position, you will keep quite? Reason well my brother.

You have spoken as one of those with hatred for other Nigerians. Somebody was accused of wrong doing, is it not the duty of the police holding him, to investigate the matter, come out with their report and evidence and take the Case to court and allow the man to have his days in court?
Did you read the story very well? This matter has been over 1yr, without any action. If you think that of this man, what you wish others, will come to you one day. The post said this man has been in Benin Republic for over 30yrs, there, he lost both his wife and adopted daughter and you feel that this is the best kind of treatment for him with BP of close to300 and you think it's okay?.
The people are not protesting to protect him, but charge him to court.

Do not the Muslim cleric and his people not a place where they slaughter their ram? Why should they face the church. The beating of the woman and her pregnancy, mayn't be supported, but this Muslims sometimes are serious trouble makers.
I remember going out on morning cry sometimes ago, a Muslim came out and confronted me for standing on the road facing their mosque. For peace to reign, I left the place.
If I were to be this pastor, and the church leadership, I won't vacate my place of worship for anything.

My older brother bargains alot like he can't do without bargaining and for that I avoid going anywhere with him.

Incase you're wondering how I survive without bargaining, I just use people close to me when its something I must bargain for, but if it's something like clothes, I know the standard price for stuff like that so I just make an offer, and for basic things like packaged groceries I buy from supermarkets in more than one quantity.

FreeStuffsNG:
Why I relocated to US – Pastor Sam Adeyemi

“We prayed fervently, sensing danger. Three hours later, I fell back asleep and had another dream.’’
By Friday Omosola May 26, 2024

The Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, has disclosed the rationale behind his relocation to the United States (US).

PREMIUM TIMES reported in 2020 that Mr Adeyemi was among prominent Nigerian clerics who condemned the police for using bullets and tear gas to disperse #EndSARS protesters.

In November 2020, a rights activist, Kenechukwu Okeke, filed a criminal complaint against Mr Adeyemi and 50 persons, including musicians Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, and Davido, for their roles in
However, the celebrities filed a suit before a magistrate’s court seeking the dismissal of the charges.

In contrast, Mr Okeke filed a countermotion with the Abuja High Court to dismiss their suit.

Yahaya Bello vs EFCC

The lawyer alleged his property was destroyed during the protest and that the defendants who promoted it must be brought to justice.

In January 2021, a High Court in the Federal Capital Territory ordered Magistrate Omolola Akindele to halt the prosecution of Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Centre, Burna Boy, Davido, Falz, activist Deji Adeyanju and others.

However, the 57-year-old pastor set the record straight in an interview with Channel TV’s Seun Okinbaloye on the ‘Mic podcast’ shared on YouTube Sunday.

He said: “When COVID-19 started, all our children were in the US, so everyone stayed with their families. We stayed with our children. The week services resumed was when EndSARS started, so we were preparing to return to Nigeria. When the EndSARS protests ended in violence, we stayed back a bit. When we were ready to return to Nigeria, a different experience altogether happened.

“My wife had a dream in which she travelled to Nigeria and returned to the US, which was a bad dream. I told her I wouldn’t say I liked this dream. Three days later, I had a dream. We both travelled to Nigeria in my dream, and I was in a big fight. I was being attacked violently and had to ask the Holy Spirit in my heart what to do. He said I should call the name of Jesus Christ. I shouted ‘in the name of Jesus Christ’ in the dream and didn’t realise I shouted out loud in real life.”

The anchor of the ‘Excellent Leadership’ programme, aired on Daystar Network Television and Word Network in the US, recounted how he shouted from the dream and woke up his wife, Pastor Nike.

“My wife woke me up at 2:00 a.m. by hitting me and asking what was going on. We decided to take it seriously, especially considering a dream we had three days earlier.

“We prayed fervently, sensing danger. Three hours later, I fell back asleep and had another dream. We were in Nigeria this time, and I was in a fight,” he added.

Return to Nigeria
Mr Adeyemi revealed that whenever they (him and his wife) set dates and booked flights to return to Nigeria, he would have a bad dream about something terrible happening to him there (Nigeria).

The author of Build Real Wealth: Practical Steps to Regain Financial Stability said he had never experienced two dreams about the same event in one night.

“A few days later, we called family members in Nigeria, and one person said, ‘I’m feeling very uncomfortable about you travelling to Nigeria.’ We called another family member who said, ‘I feel uncomfortable about you coming. What is going on?’ We just turned and looked at each other, pondering the situation. Then I said, ‘You know what? I’ve been a Christian for 40 years.’

“At this point, if God is speaking to me, I should have an idea that it is God speaking. Something is going on. I don’t know what it is, but I want to pray more. And at that point, we called a meeting of all the leaders in Daystar Christian Center, the top 120 leaders on Zoom.”

The President of Success Power International noted that he informed the elders of Daystar about the situation, and they agreed to keep the church running.

“They said you’ve never deceived us before. If God asks you to stay, stay as long as He directs. We’ll continue this journey”, Mr Adeyemi stated.

Daystar
The host of the radio and television ‘Success Power’ programme heard and seen in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East said he and his wife stayed in the US after the church leaders’ Zoom meeting.

“Six months, we were still in the US, one year, tearing me apart. I discovered that until COVID-19, I’d been out of Nigeria for eight weeks. To now be away when you had the church with 40,000 members”, he noted.

He added that the experience in the US highlighted Daystar’s strengths, including investments in training and established systems.

“I’m passionate about building systems so the church does not collapse. It is fantastic, and we call it an organisational miracle. It was almost three years before we had the Holy Spirit’s clearance to return to Nigeria.

“But what eventually the Holy Spirit would tell me was that he wanted me to shift my focus from just being the pastor of a local church to that global walk that I had known that I would do. So right now, the focus shift is to do that global walk while we keep Daystar running, leveraging technology.”

Daystar Christian Centre was established on 18 November 1995 to empower individuals to discover, develop, release, and maximise potential in God through the word.

The church has branches across Lagos State, such as Oregun Centre (the main branch), Lekki Centre, Ikorodu Centre, Alimosho Centre, Badagry Centre, and an online church.

Religion / Re: 7 Reasons Why I Respect The Jehovah’s Witnesses by honeyB2018: 2:32pm On May 26
OnknownSoldier:
I am naturally drawn to things that people generally criticize and most of the time, I do find out that most of these things are not really what people say they are. People would generally hate what they don’t understand and that is the case of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. While growing up, I watched people avoid interacting with them and this made me curious to know about their doctrines.

After studying with the Jehovah’s Witnesses for more than 12 years, I can say that they are widely misunderstood by most people. Do I totally agree with them? No, I do not but I share their perspective in some areas like the subject of the Trinity and Tithing. I do not actively study with the Jehovah’s Witnesses anymore but here are areas they have my respect.

First, is evangelism. Without a doubt, no other Christian set actively evangelizes like the Jehovah’s Witnesses, none even come close. As a Jehovah’s Witness, you are readily mandated to evangelize not just occasionally like most Christian sets but regularly.

Second is their civility. As far as I am concerned, I think the Jehovah’s Witnesses are the most civilized Christian set in Nigeria. Even though they use microphones in their services, you can barely hear a sound outside their kingdom hall. I think most churches need to learn from them on how not to disturb people with their horn speakers. It can be very annoying.

Third is their uniformity. I have gone to kingdom halls and many Jehovah’s Witnesses’ conferences in many regions of the country and I can confirm that they teach the same message everywhere. Most multi-branched churches in Nigeria are not like this. Don't let me start to mention names.

Fourth is biblical knowledge. When it comes to biblical knowledge, I haven't seen that Christian set that can win the Jehovah’s Witnesses in a Bible-based debate even though a lot of people will argue that their teachings are heresies. The truth of the matter is that no church is perfect and Jehovah’s Witnesses are not an exemption. Try an engage a random 8-year-old Jehovah’s Witness, you will be shocked by his or her narration of biblical events.

Recently, I was watching a video of two pastors arguing about tithing on Facebook and I was so irritated by the pastor arguing for why Christians should pay tithe. The Bible verses he was using as his defense were totally irrelevant to the points he was making. Jehovah's Witnesses are not like that. If you ask a Jehovah’s Witness a question he doesn't know, he will not try to be proof smart to you or beat around the bush, he will simply tell you that he does have the answer to your question but he will reach out to his superior for the answer. Trust me, he will always come back with a reasonable response even if it doesn't really answer the question exactly but at least it will sound very reasonable.

Fifth is their lower divorce rate. Of course, there will certainly be Jehovah’s Witnesses who are divorced but I am yet to see one myself. Do you know one? The Bible says, “By their fruits, we shall know them. This is a clear testament to show that the word of God is of great effect in their lives. Yeah!

Sixth is their devotion. When it comes to devotion, I rate the Jehovah’s Witnesses very high. A Jehovah’s Witness with an MSc can decide to turn into an artisan simply because he doesn't want anything that will hinder him from going to weekly meetings at the Kingdom Hall. One of their members once told me that he has never missed a meeting in his entire life and if I wasn't mistaken, he should be around 32 years of age when he told me that. Jehovah’s Witnesses don't joke with their meetings and that's why you will rarely see a Jehovah’s Witness working in the bank.

Lastly is their less emphasis on money. This is one area I respect the Jehovah’s Witnesses most. A Jehovah’s Witness will politely stop you by the road, hand you a book that would have cost you a lot of money, and ask that you give a free-will offering. Even if N5 is all you have, he will collect. This is not the way it is in other Christian sets where everything is for sale. The only Christian set that is a bit like the Jehovah’s Witnesses in this regard is the Christ Embassy with their “Rhapsody of Reality”. It will shock you that the Jehovah’s Witnesses do not take offerings or tithe in their meeting except a box at the entrance of the hall where members can drop their voluntary offerings. Sometimes I imagine how they can run their publications and the maintenance of their halls. I don't think there is any better way to explain the true provision of God than that.

In conclusion, I know a lot of Christians see the Jehovah’s Witnesses as a heretic movement or even a demonic one but I don't think so. Instead, I see sincere people who are devoted to God in the way they know best. Whether their doctrine is accurate or not, I just hope God counts the sincerity of their heart and devotion as righteousness.

Written by Ifedayo Oyewumi

You have fairly recounted your experience with them, but does it exnorate them from heretic teachings and preachings? See what bible said in Gal. 5:9
A little leaven, leaveneth the whole lump.
2Tim. 2:18
Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is passed already; and overthrow the faith of many.
Consider this scriptures in assessing them next time.
Having those outside traits you have mentioned, cannot pay the price of one soul that is wrongly lead to hell.

Like someone said before me, this is a position that was highly revered in Kano, the North and other parts of Nigeria, but the former governor of Kano State with the support of Buhari, bastardized it into 5 Emirates.
This was what the government of Nigeria did to South East, after the war,by creation of states, to weaken the South Eastern area, so that the spread of the Igbo speaking people can be restricted.
In my view, the Emirate, should be reverted to its formal position, because the creation of the 5, was in bad fate.
It was politically motivated.
This should be a lesson to those in power. You can't be there for ever.
What you did in 8yrs of your powerful rule, can be reduced to nothing in just 2 months of the new administration.
