Moh247: Unemployment rate is not relative to the total population, but the total labour force. In some countries, ages 15-64 are considered active labour force, while 18-60 is the standard in others. 3 Likes |

helinues: Are you for real? If you followed the press briefings of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 you should know him nominally. If not for anything, his response to journalists on Chinese doctors when allegedly came to help Nigeria to fight COVID made headlines. |

Raskimonojendor: It's not only about people blocking the drainage, the sate lacks proper drainage system. Take Lekki-Epe expressway for instance, from Ajah to Abijo to awoyaya down to ibeju, there no single drainage. Any time it rains, no matter how little, the whole highway will be flooded this causing heavy gridlock. For the next few weeks now, Sangotedo-Awoyaya axis will experience heavy gridlock on account of yesterday's rain. |

Jagungidi: I'm sure you did not read the incoherent junk up there (reading it nearly gave me headache). There's no where in the post that asserted that Nigeria or it's president was invited to the G20. Or am I missing something? |

Lemmy123: Ore, this have nothing to do with Lagos state. Moreover, NSITF is an FG agency. So what are you saying. And about performance you need to be specific. |

IyaebeTheGreat: Madam, no body mentioned Tinubu's name. Why do you feel anybody criticising the FG I attacking APC, Buhari or Tinubu? I'm am sure you're part of those that feel Obidients are 'bullies' or "fascists". Everyday I ask my self whether the people on Nairaland are actually Nigerians because I seldom meet shallow individuals like your types. 1 Like |

WrriterNig: Are you an economist? It will interest you to know that the heavy demand for US dollars for international trade comes at a cost for the US economy. The appreciation of the dollars often give rise to higher inflation rate and sustained trade deficits. Trust me, China or Russia will not submit their currencies as standard currency for international trade. All the instances of China buying Saudi oil in yuan and India buying Russia gas in ruble is just to reduce the cost of international trade between the parties. In fact, it is not new. I'm sure you still remember the 2018 Naira/yuan currency swap agreement between Nigeria and China? 37 Likes 3 Shares |

helinues: Unfortunately, this is just a wishful thinking. To start with, it will be very difficult for Africa to ditch dollars for a africa-centric currency for several reasons including the fact that more than two-third of our export is made up of primary products with and our manufacturing capacity and output is unfortunately poor. Look at the eco currency of ECOWAS, how far were we able to go about it? The West African Franc was able to work for obvious reasons. Moreover, intra-African trade is very low. In a recent study I was working on, my search for intra-African trade statistics revealed that intra-ECOWAS trade is less than 15 percent. The adoption of AfFTA was not able to change the low intra-Africa trade since we basically export primary products which other African countries have and equally export. Our dependence on export from Europe, North America, China and India suggest we have to use the universal currency (dollars) or the country's currency. Either way, we not exporting manufactured goods means Africa will ave to dance to the tune of any county we depend on for import. 16 Likes 2 Shares |

Jerryherd: Oga calm down. You can't because of politics they should be enemies. I'm sure if it's Tinubu or Atiku (God forbid) that lost a relative you can't say they shouldn't visit themselves. It shouldn't be about politics. 7 Likes |

helinues: Do I blame politicians? Hell no. They're rest assured that they have the backing of their followers. Dangling a few candies of ethnicity and religious bigotry is enough to ensure the citizens are never united to demand appropriate governance and representation from them. 5 Likes 1 Share |

richmond500: Funnily enough, Igbos are not complaining rathers it is your likes. In the current dispensation, no Igbo occupies the first the sixth position, did they die? Meanwhile, how is having preference a politics of bitterness? If you don't see the North consistently voting for a northerner then you can't accuse the SE for politics of bitterness. Besides PO, SE have never supported a Igbo man. |

pgodson7: It's not stupidity. Airpeace can't enter Sudan's airspace. The students have to be evacuated to a neighboring country to enable airpeace airlift them. |

I'm not disturbed by the incoherent bullcrap that Majesty7 wrote, but for able bodied individuals like stuffs2002, nobaga, Keegan and lecowas falling for it hook, line, and sinker is my main issues. Like you guys being around for this long on NL suggest you're adults. It's quite unfortunate. |

IyaebeTheGreat: How was she trying to be civil? I guess civility now have a different meaning. Bulama reported about British's evacuation of diplomats, Abike promised to bring everybody home in a bid to downplay the evacuation of British diplomats. Next she ended it with by God's grace. Another person asked if it's God's grace that employed them she then went wild. I wonder if that's being civil. Well, I'm not surprised, with your history on Nairaland, civility is definitely alien to you. |

Draslo: It's obvious you didn't read before submitting your comment. Abike was responding to Bulama's tweet about British government evacuating the diplomats. It was after the guy asked whether it's God's grace that employed them that she went wild. In whole honesty, there's nothing wrong in what the guy posted. It high time we start taking responsibility instead of pushing everything to God. 1 Like |
