dagboss: if you know the population of yorubas in the south south you will never open your stinking mouth again in your life, south west is the most backward part of southern nigeria and dats a fact, in your silly mind your trying to lump nigerias capital lagos as south west, why not tell us about your backward villages and shanties like oyo, ogun, ekiti, osun and ondo, even my village with all the spillage is like london compared to all the capital cities in the south west. mumu thread have also proved the backwardness of these south west states, illieteracy and poverty rate in nigeria have also proved t ,you people better do something about it rather than running your mouth anyhow. the south south are getting juicy federal allocation today because they dont live in self denial ,also we can see that the constant whining of the south east is paying off for them while dumies like you in the sw keep living in denial while poverty swallow you up . |

Crime / Re: violation Statistics By State And Region by htajz: 12:08am On Oct 13, 2011 |
so u people want to deviate from the topic abi, as usual you have turned it into tribal bashing. anyways am suprised that notorious states like ekiti, abia, rivers, bayels and anambra known for katakata as the media have been selling to us did not make the top list, also with all the crisis in plateau it did not make the top list to. funny enough states where news papers dont report rape cases have the highest number of cases like oyo, edo and kano, we never hear anything from these states. |

for those that live abroad that will start shouting nigeria this ,nigeria that 1 out of 6 women are raped or have experienced rapi in the united states, the figures there is even more alarming. According to United States Department of Justice document Criminal Victimization in the United States, there were overall 191,670 victims of rape or sexual assault reported in 2005.[19] 1 of 6 U.S. women has experienced an attempted or completed rape. (according to Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault)[20] The U.S. Department of Justice compiles statistics on crime by race, but only between and among people categorized as black or white. The statistics for whites include hispanic and non hispanic whites combined. In 2005 There were 194,270 white and 17,920 black victims of rape or sexual assault reported in 2006. Out of the 194,270 cases involving white victims, cases involving white victims, 44.5% had white offenders and 33.6% had black offenders , while the 36,620 black victims had a figure of 100% black offenders, the remaining being of other or unreported race, with a negligible number of white offenders. There were 194,270 white and 17,920 black victims of rape or sexual assault reported in 2006.[21] Some types of rape are excluded from official reports altogether; the FBI's definition for example excludes all rapes except forcible rapes of females, a significant number of rapes go unreported even when they are included as reportable rapes, and a significant number of rapes reported to the police do not advance to prosecution.[22] U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics (1999) estimated that 91% of rape victims are female and 9% are male, with 99% of the offenders being male.[23] Denov (2004) states that societal responses to the issue of female perpetrators of sexual assault "point to a widespread denial of women as potential sexual aggressors that could work to obscure the true dimensions of the problem."[24] |

Sun of god: shut up there , didnt you see me minus lagos cus lagos does not equal yorubaland, from ranking southwest is not even at top 3 if you minus lagos. anyways one of the purpose of puting it up is so that everyone will start questioning the governors and police in their states and stop nosing into what happens in other states and regions, also the southerners should not be deceived that because there is sharia law in the north that crime is low there, sharia does not eliminate crime afterall afgahnistan is among the top ten countries with high crime rate. |

owerri is a neat and decent city , not much industries there but you can tell they have a high percentage of middle class citizens, few very rich dudes loots of young women and little or almost no poor people(except for almajiros that are slowly invading the city), if nigeria was a better place , one can easily be working or doing buisness in ph,aba, onitsha and after work take a train back to cities like calabar, owerri ,enugu ,yenogoa. |
