dagboss:

After carefully reading through the thread i can not see where a starting gun was shot for another ethnic bashing. Unfortunately most of the Yoruba boys/girls in NL may not have had the opportunity of travelling to some parts of the country where some of their aggressors come from, hence you fight from a disadvantage position knowing that most of your foes have all abandoned their clans for the south west. Even though our people say that an "adult should not join in a game of show of private parts", i get sick of some of the gabbage some of these guys post about the south west, and i restrain myself a lot not to join issues with anybody believing that those people doing that are likely to be minors. As an addition i travelled round the whole states of the federation by road between late January and March this year and this is not the first time in most of the locations and i know what i saw.

if you know the population of yorubas in the south south you will never open your stinking mouth again in your life, south west is the most backward part of southern nigeria and dats a fact, in your silly mind your trying to lump nigerias capital lagos as south west, why not tell us about your backward villages and shanties like oyo, ogun, ekiti, osun and ondo, even my village with all the spillage is like london compared to all the capital cities in the south west.

mumu thread have also proved the backwardness of these south west states, illieteracy and poverty rate in nigeria have also proved t ,you people better do something about it rather than running your mouth anyhow. the south south are getting juicy federal allocation today because they dont live in self denial ,also we can see that the constant whining of the south east is paying off for them while dumies like you in the sw keep living in denial while poverty swallow you up .

this thread dey really pain some people oo shocked

alj_harem:

why was this thread derailed ??

people face the topic, it has nothing to do with yoruba and igbo afterall, the country is mixed and zones does not define ethnic groups

In the SW, there are lots of igbos

in the SS there are lot of yoruba

in the SE, northerners

in the north, yorubas and igbos. so really what are you people fighting for ?

this is why nigeria must split rather than discuss issues some people go just dey vex grin

ogugua88:

Most of you are shouting Igbos this, Yorubas, that, Hausas hmm? I'm surprised no one bothered adding the numbers that were supplied in OP's post.

Add the numbers from all the regions and you get a sum of 1,340 cases of violation occurring each year. Out of 150 million or so Nigerians in Nigeria, are we truly supposed to believe that there are only 1,340 violation cases? Continue arguing about tribes, states, and regions. However, with the evidence supplied, and if that evidence is true, then it's incontrovertible that we have a much larger issue on our plate than who desecrates more/most. Clearly there are several cases going unreported, or they're reported and completely dismissed. I would assume the unreported and/or dismissed cases would take priority.

dont mind these people that how they derail every thread on nairaland and baptise everybody igbo, anyway lets keep fooling ourselves while they keep raping our women.

nolongTing:

Ami!!!!!!!! what a piece of Poo he is  grin grin grin

That is a very good example - we need more accurate statistics to tackle these terrible crimes. Its just that the @OP was trying to paint the SW in a bad light so I provided the MURDER stats, i wonder why he dose not want to discuss all of a sudden lol!  I have told them many times not to throw stones if they live in a glass house.  grin

you want to turn this into igbo yoruba bashing thread but it wont work this time cus its not only igbo and yoruba  women that are being raped in nigeria.please shut up if you have nothing else to contribute.

YORUBA MEN ARE THE TYPES THAT CAN GET IT; UGLY, OKAY, SEXY.

and how about the large immigration of yoruba men into the south south there by making our the statistics high especially in edo, rivers and bayelsa, even kano etc? stop all these useless denial the cases we get about violation everyday are usually yoruba and igbo whats up with the self denial? remeber how they where denying about poverty and illiteracy in the southwest now everybody knows the truth, pls lets stop all these and move on , you yorubas and igbos also need to stop posting disgusting threads about nigeria all over the internet.

First of all, the stats do not exist. Even if it does, SW incidents will be inflated becos of non-Yorubas like the 5 despoiler.s who just struck in Lagos. I guess the OP is feeling the heat for his ppl, so he had to bring up this topic, not knowing that sometimes it is better to let matters die.

so let matters of rape just die abi? your fada there the more we talk about it the more women will be alert and men will look after their female relatives better.

Nigeria to invest Rp 24t in Indonesian refinery deal
The Jakarta Post | Wed, 10/12/2011 2:19 PM A | A | A |
Nigeria plans to invest Rp 24 trillion (US$2.68 billion) in Indonesia to fund the construction of three oil refineries, an official says.

The Industry Ministry's director general for manufacturing-based industry, Panggah Susanto, was quoted by kompas.com as saying that both countries had agreed to build the refineries in Indonesia.

Nigeria, which produces 2.6 million barrels of oil per day (bpd), was looking for a partner to refine its crude oil, Panggah said.

"Previously they wanted the refineries to be built in Nigeria," he said Tuesday. "However, as Indonesia is currently improving its downstream industry, Indonesia wanted the refineries to be built here instead."

The refineries, which are projected to produce 300 bpd each, will be used to process crude oil from Nigeria.

"State firm PT Pertamina will buy the crude oil from Nigeria and process it here," he said.

anyways am suprised that notorious states like ekiti, abia, rivers, bayels and anambra known for katakata as the media have been selling to us did not make the top list, also with all the crisis in plateau it did not make the top list to. funny enough states where news papers dont report rape cases have the highest number of cases like oyo, edo and kano, we never hear anything from these states.

for those that live abroad that will start shouting nigeria this ,nigeria that 1 out of 6 women are raped or have experienced rapi in the united states, the figures there is even more alarming.

According to United States Department of Justice document Criminal Victimization in the United States, there were overall 191,670 victims of rape or sexual assault reported in 2005.[19] 1 of 6 U.S. women has experienced an attempted or completed rape. (according to Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault)[20] The U.S. Department of Justice compiles statistics on crime by race, but only between and among people categorized as black or white. The statistics for whites include hispanic and non hispanic whites combined. In 2005 There were 194,270 white and 17,920 black victims of rape or sexual assault reported in 2006. Out of the 194,270 cases involving white victims, cases involving white victims, 44.5% had white offenders and 33.6% had black offenders , while the 36,620 black victims had a figure of 100% black offenders, the remaining being of other or unreported race, with a negligible number of white offenders. There were 194,270 white and 17,920 black victims of rape or sexual assault reported in 2006.[21] Some types of rape are excluded from official reports altogether; the FBI's definition for example excludes all rapes except forcible rapes of females, a significant number of rapes go unreported even when they are included as reportable rapes, and a significant number of rapes reported to the police do not advance to prosecution.[22]
U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics (1999) estimated that 91% of rape victims are female and 9% are male, with 99% of the offenders being male.[23] Denov (2004) states that societal responses to the issue of female perpetrators of sexual assault "point to a widespread denial of women as potential sexual aggressors that could work to obscure the true dimensions of the problem."[24]

Sun of god:

Minus Lagos?

What about minus the other states?

You've produced 'screwed' stats.

We are not all backward on NL.

If the stats are accurate then it points towards 'Yorubas' as being rampant r.apists.

Therefore its wiser the thread is moved to the tribalist sections for 'guys' to 'tribalise' over

that means we can never discuss anything because they all lead to tribal bashing, even common thread like states that cant pay minmum wage lead to tribal bashing.

THE 'STATS' NEVER EXISTED! EVERYONE SHOULD PLEASE VISIT THE SITE INCLUDED, THIS GUY IS A TYPICAL IGBO LOSER. CANNIBALISM IS THEIR PROBLEM,

"Cannibalism can explain the problems of igbos.

The widespread practice of cannibalism in vast areas of Imo , Abia and Enugu (and to some extent Ebonyi) is an open secret in modern Nigerian history. As recent as in the contemporary period, cannibalistic activities were reported in those areas particularly in Abia and Imo states.
Historically, in every human settlement where cannibalism was practiced, the darker a human is, the more nutritious he/she was assumed to be. It is this belief that put darker members of the community or neighboring community to greater danger of being killed and eaten than fairer ones. In fact, the fair ones are considered as taboo to eat as they are considered to be cursed by the gods.

As a result of depletion of the darker people in such communities, the offspring became increasingly lighter and higher proportion of albinism as well birth defects are recorded. Such defects include severe mental problems, stealing of other people's land,anti-social behaviour like kidnapping, r.a.pe, pipeline vandalism and oil bunkering, sight defects, arson, wife-killing, child-burning, FALSE STATISTICS, drug trafficking and se.xu.al impotency"

The 'stats' clearly point towards 'Yorubas' and 'South Westerners' as being prolific r.apists.

And we all know what this will lead to on NL.

I'm just trying to 'quench' the fire before it erupts.

shut up there , didnt you see me minus lagos cus lagos does not equal yorubaland, from ranking southwest is not even at top 3 if you minus lagos.

anyways one of the purpose of puting it up is so that everyone will start questioning the governors and police in their states and stop nosing into what happens in other states and regions, also the southerners should not be deceived that because there is sharia law in the north that crime is low there, sharia does not eliminate crime afterall afgahnistan is among the top ten countries with high crime rate.

owerri is a neat and decent city , not much industries there but you can tell they have a high percentage of middle class citizens, few very rich dudes loots of young women cheesy and little or almost no poor people(except for almajiros that are slowly invading the city), if nigeria was a better place , one can easily be working or doing buisness in ph,aba, onitsha and after work take a train back to cities like calabar, owerri ,enugu ,yenogoa.
