Are you suggesting that we pretend like it doesn't exist? What exactly are you clamouring for?

talking about something cause more harm than good, your exposing your people abroad that know nothing of it about it, thats not good , if you want to talk about it go your villages or ohaneze or the communities that pratice it, like i said you people still have a lot to learn.

Other cultures also have their own negative elements. There's nothing shameful about it.

like? do you see them talk about it, you guys still have much to learn , such sensitive issues should either be left to die a natural death with your elders but if must must show it outside then be prepared to have a solution , do you know how many igbos that are not aware of this but u just made them aware and trust moderators its already in the front page for the world to see. now they will watch out for who is an osu and who is not. my brother to open thread no be by force .

^^^ Almost all where?? Please provide us with some numbers to back up these claims or put a sock in it. What you have there is just as absurd as anyone coming in to claim that All Americans have a computer and internet access.

Many of this generation need to learn to separate their formed delusions/ideas they have chosen to create in their heads of that around them, from reality.
go and sit down that is wh this country needs to seperate , enough of cooke up lies and propaganda . starndard of living is low in terms of security , electircity good school etc but people are not dat poor at least in the south. most people that commit crime in name of poverty are actually greedy and not poor but almost all nigerian believe they are poor cus they have been told several times that they are thats why they all want to run away.

Or did I tell a lie there or something ?

stop dishing out lies especially in sensitive issues like that, protest was never about the killings in the north. dont spam this thread

i dont think they wil ever be war, who is going to fight who? even if the igbos want to fight the hausa fulanis they both have to cross the middlebelt to achieve that , its pointless when you can channel your energy in developing your new country. peaceful seperation is still the best solution

So, the writer of the above can claim to be a University Graduate. ROFLMAO. Wow. . . .

Now, I see why Kobojunkie sounds irritated half the time. loool. I just cant stop laughing. grin

and how did they arrive at thiers , any sane person that have travelled round the country obviously know the difference just as if you travel to developed countries you dont need statistics to tell you they are doing better.
am sorry for most of you that live abroad that keep swallowing everything dished out to you ,this yoruba propaganda did not start today , from literacy to media to politics now poverty they alway try to cook up unrealistic figures to make them look better than others while ignoring the reality until they are busted  , anyway believe what you like i will go with NAPEP they are the only agency that actually go from house to house , state to state ,city to cityand where specifically setup by federal government for that not some people that stay in their office and cook up figures the same way they cook up population figures in various states.

no, becareful what YOU wish for, we know how the ibos in the north dread at the hearing of boko haram, you send buses for thousands because of a few rag tags and you want to take up against all northerners, dont be silly if you dont want to end up in cameroon

i think you misunderstand me, the oil in the niger delta will not be used to fuel your jihad this time around, you will have to use whatever stones and bows you have to face the igbos, keep that in mind , its easy to kill harmless women and children that live among you, everyother coward can do the same thing. so when your northern leaders are bragging about going to war they should better not have the oil in my fatherland in mind to be used to fund it.

be carefull what you wish for, the north is already hell zone ,if it sees any war it may never recover from it. your northern leaders are callous and selfish they are the reason nigeria is messed up and your people are dying of poverty ,why would ibb make such a statement in the first place?

occam:

Yes, I also expected poverty rate in Niger to be higher than Anambra; I'm puzzled by this. Could proximity to the FCT have a positive impact on Niger state economy?

how can that be so when abuja itself recorded higher poverty rate than niger. this statistics is called yoruba abracadabra. it just doesnt make sense at all. guess NAPEP,CBN and UN statistics really got to them so they had to quickly do something about their image. its on record that bayelsa and anambra have always had the least poverty rate in nigeria and we know why , bayelsa have the smallest population and the largest federal allocation while anambra , of course we dont need to be told have probably the largest market in west africa which i believe can single handedly maintain their poplulation.
Politics / Re: Nigerians Living In Poverty Rise To Nearly 61% by htajz: 4:39pm On Feb 14, 2012
this is trash statistic, what is wrong with this people, CBN, NAPEP and UN statistics is totally different from this , they should stop confusing us, how can the SW be ahead of SS ? is it not the same SW i did my NYSC which was the first time i actually saw what poverty really is thats apart from other trips to northern states. secondly i dont believe the poverty rate is up to 90 percent at least not in the south , people you even consider poor spend lots of money daily from transport to feeding to school fees to house rent, recharge cards etc, but i do believe starndard of living is low(no light ,poor sanitaction poor security etc) but that does not really mean being poor .

Mr femi:

Common guys haba!! which  one be all this praise for soludo, the dude transformed the banking sector no doubt but we all know how he ended it but all this ethnic support despite his shortcomings is funny and unreal, the guy failed at the end lets admit. And yes Sanusi is brilliant but he is an ethnic bigot, a northern instrument to serve the norths agenda  and also a islamic fanatic. I hope I have been objective enough LOL

pls soludo did more than just heading CBN ,jobs in banking sector where increasing every year, out of every 10 graduates, 6 will get job in banking sector but now what do we have stand still since sanusi came in , infact we are going back to square one.
Politics / Re: Sanusi's CBN Performance: Soludo Was Better After All? by htajz: 12:41am On Feb 14, 2012
Onlytruth:

There was never any sane basis for wanting to compare Soludo and Sanusi.

Soludo is a FIRST CLASS economics brain, while Sanusi is just a Fulani prince.

One of the things I constantly lament about Nigeria is that Nigeria is a country at war with itself; always trying to impose quota system and national character on the most strategic of offices in the land. In doing so, competence is always sacrificed, and the nation set backwards.

Throughout Soludo's tenure, everyone could see clearly a very energetic, intelligent, optimistic and transformative character in charge at the CBN.
If Nigeria were USA, Soludo's tenure at the CBN would have survived MANY presidents, because why change a winning team at the central bank? But No. In Nigeria, even JEALOUSY play more important roles in our national planning. Soludo was about to become the greatest CBN governor, hence he had to be stopped lest his people recieve the credit due to him. Even if it meant that the nation would have to go back 20 years as it has under Sanusi.

This is why some Nigerians are convinced that the only way forward is total disintegration of Nigeria so that all who wants the Soludos of this world to lead would have the type of leader they deserve, while the Sanusi types would also have him to lead them.

i totally agreed with you.

. . . . confirmation that ibo was civilized by its neighbors.  they never had kings in their history and explains also why they never conquered anyone or anyland.  Without a king to lead an expansion campaign they remained unknown to the West African civilizations and Imperial societies.  Now that they have been taught by the Binis and the Igalas . . . they since became aggressive trying to assert their uncivilized culture in parity with that of their colonizers - the Binis and Igalas.

this was my response to bashr in another post.

Airport, Niger bridge. . . .these are all access to the landlocked ibos.  Thats empowerement!  He wants to empower Ijaw as the top dawg in Eatsern territory.  Why would Gej be interested in such a need, why would he waste the opportunity now that he has it to reverse the encroachment of his ancestral lands and riverine by a regional rival?  If ibo can be successful in trade why not Ijaw?  The port is very important to Ijaw and the control of it and status of it as a convergent market is very critical.  The airport will compete with it and ibo access to the sea will deny Ijaw the control.

I am not saying this to cause dividision. . . but again, It is apparent that you guys lack political insight. . . you are not politically mature enough to understand national politics and how to play it in the Nigerian context.

Yes the privatisoation of sea security has impact on Yoruba. . . but in a very remote dimension.  It has a direct and fatal impact on the actualization of ibo interest and voice in your own homeland in East.   IF Nigeria divides and you are ejected from West, which other access do you have to the sea?  It is in East . . . in Ijaw  area.  By proactively sitting on that gateway now, Gej makes it impracticable for ibo to succeed without depending and defaulting to Ijaw voice.   Your hatred for Yoruba has blinded you you cant see that you are politically walking into a dead end trap.

Gej is slowly working on a plan that will dissolve Nigeria. . . boko is the instrument to make it happen.  This is why he is  inactive against them. . . .they aiding his cause to divide it.  But he doesnt want it to happen too fast before he has installed Ijaw as the de facto voice in East.   Political maradona!  Yoruba understand this, Huasa understand this. . . but you ibos out of sentiments are marrooned under his Azikiwe spell. . . . he will make you impotent and subservient to Dokubo.

answer me lets assume you are correct that ijaws want to trap igbos , are the ibibios and efiks also trying to do the same thing? dont we have ecowas, the ports in ijaw land or any other eastern nigeria will benefit everybody cause it will employ people , onitsha port hopefully will be functioning too it wont be like your evil nigeria which i hope you are enjoying now but i agree GEJ is trying to make sure nigeria divides and i support him 100 percent if that is true. you people have lotted so much evil that only evil thoughts come to your mind. i dont even see what ijaws will benefit from doing such only evil minded people will have such thought running through their head.

I get all that. The points you mentioned above are in my mind. I only came to a conclusion recently that GEJ is scared of something which worries me. He has Ijaws coupled with Igbo bad asses yet he doesnt want to put his foot down on things that are clearly justifiable.

Better pay attention to your brothers gej have only been president for less than a year yet these yorubas are already spreading all kinds of propaganda against him yet they had 8full years, guess what they did with it? Left it worse than how they met it, lets not talk about what the north did with over 30 years.

wha wait and get facts?? By the time facts are out its too late to reverse whatever action is needed to implement the plan. You are using the same wait and see attitude that Gej encouraged with boko haram.

There is no wait and see here, the outcome is a heavy cost to national security. Envision that Gej's private navy becomes true. What stops a Yoruba president in future from privatising air national guard for air space and border patrol? Would ibo or ijaw or hausa want Yoruba to be in charge of air space? Imagine Hausa president in future coming up with private army frontier guards. Do you want your borders or does Yoruba want its borders controled by Hausa?

If these future possibilities are scary, then Gej's idea is scary and should be killed in incubation. There is no wait and see!
have you finished crying?
