If you have to travel out for opportunities, carry go. Beautyaddy:
Yes, but is the average Nigerian living in Nigeria not dying of hunger and poverty? I support relocation 100 percent. Everyone has their own thing going, however, i am concerned about the exploitations in the system which we are not ready to even talk about. I rest my case. Daalụ |

To further buttress, USA refusal rate is high compared to UK. Thenomad:
The UK fees I haven't been able to wrap my head around it. It's all sad really. I have to google to know what Nigeria Embassy visa fee is to British citizens. Maybe it's an agreement. Otherwise is just not right. The UK visa process is very much seamless, less cumbersome and flexible compare to USA. Let stop this undying push for these countries that offer us less in return than Poverty Alleviation schemes. They see us all as hungry people, as captured in the previous posts by someone. |

You are applying for a student visa right? National type (Category- long stay) Attach your document checklist here, let me help you scrutinize it. Yes, the pcc , did you re confirm if it has to be translated? If it has to, i think there is allowance to reschedule appointment, which you give you opportunity to fix the pending concern Anonymousmouse:
So basically, I have all my documents ready except for translated PCC which might not be ready till after my appointment. Is it possible to attend the appointment still, and send the translated PCC when its ready later? Above, send a mail to bls to confirm. |

Uk embassy fees? Check the records, the uk offers an elaborate visa process. It is what you want they give, there is 6, 2, 5, 10 yrs. The United Kingdom visa process is not as complex as the United States. Let not even start the discuss Debbieeeeeee:
The US embassy adjusts its visa fees based on the exchange rate available at the central bank for dollar exchange. If the exchange rate goes up, the visa fees increase accordingly, and if it goes down, the fees decrease. This has been the pattern since last year. Despite the increase, the fees are still significantly lower than the UK embassy fees, which are exorbitant and unreasonable. Waiting time alone is crazy and the conditions herein are nauseating. The better time for us not to begin to glorify all these foreign missions as Africans, if our system worked well, no one will hustling for a US Visa. Above all, migration can never be controlled, because we also find people coming from various parts of Europe to Nigeria to seek greener pastures. People look for opportunities everywhere, but it should not be a means of exploitation for these foreign missions, a bunch of people or enterprise. That is my point. 1 Like |

I already said these people are cashing out because they see a very weak system here. They make so much monies Thenomad:
It's crazy. What's exactly their reason for the almost 100per increment? Maybe to discourage people i don't know. But Nigerian should learn to use a Visa for the right purpose. They maybe perceive most people are trying to Japa, and you really can't blame them.
These set of people spoil the chances for those whose sole reason for wanting a tourist visa for example is tourism and come back home. But how would the visa officer know this?
The only good thing our Govt did was making them extend validity to 5years, but the Visa fee shouldn't be this high, it almost feels like legal extortion.

2 years ago, I was at VFS Abuja and i had someone who came to apply for Sweden visa. In our own country o, these embassies mandate our people they pay them in Krona or usd. The high-handness in our system is something to be studied and the foreign missions are cashing out on it Thenomad:
Dont blame us. I hope our Govt fix this tbvh. Atleast 60per of the Visa fee should be refunded in the event of a refusal. Now the fee is 277,500k. Haba Very soon again, they will dash us 100 million euros in the name of Poverty Alleviation and take back hundreds of millions of euros through migration. You can see what canada is doing. Application fee Biometrics fee Transmission fee Na wa 277k for a USA Visa fee is outreagous. 1 Like |

It is a public platform where views are expressed constructively. I did not tell you i had a relative working with the embassy, read carefully, I have people can be anybody, including security. These guys can give you substantial information too, so calm down and read again my message as it was not intended to rubbish your post. I aired my opinion based on what i know and have confirmed from reliable sources including people who post their transcripts here. If you are applying for any of these visas and you are asked if you have been refused, you have to share the information truthfully, because they are seeing it, and they share the same platform. I SAID WHAT I SAID, and you can also confirm OyoTunjiUSA:
Hey 🤠
Mr hunee but you are a big boy on Nairaland and you are kinda expose a bit . I believe what you wrote up there was a mistake which I am going to correct .
1. If you say US and Canada share same visa portal then you mean that if you want to apply for Canada visa you can apply via your US CGI portal . Therefore , No ! US and Canada does not share the same visa application portal. For example, I went to UNILAG and i had my student portal which another student from LASU cannot make use of despite the fact that both institutions 're based in Lagos. However , they usually share the records of expelled or suspended students .
2. Your correction is for show-off which intends to rubbish my posts but it will mislead others . You wrote up there that US and Canada don't even have time to go through your income and that it's what you told them during interview that matters . Do you attend interview for Canada visa (except in a special circumstances ) ? On US visa , so anyone can just say i earn 10M and back it up with mouth and that's all ?
3. I had a stint with Maple Canada , and BCIE and let me say this to the public that if your immediate younger brother is working in the US or Canada embassy @hunee he won't disclose any sensitive information to you , he would rather tell you lies, so don't come to the public and say you have people working at the embassies .
4. Yes. The US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have a body called the 5 eyes, where they share records on visa applications but not for every dick and Harry, and all the aforementioned countries requires financial evidences before you can get their visas .
Best Wishes 🙏 I also went further to admonish future applicants to always enter their corresponding information's when applying for visas as conflicting data or facts can deter them from visa successes. There is no point dragging anything, it just two different views on a technical engagements. The readers are the ones to decide where they belong. Enjoy your day. 1 Like |
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by hunee: 8:47am On Feb 05 |
Mr Oyotunji, The US and Canada share same portal, just like Schengen states. The issue of income, they dont even have time to go through all that. It is what you say to them on your interview day , they see if it aligns. You are correct by saying Canada allows you to show more evidences. If you had a canadian visa ban or refusal in the past, it will be seen on their screen on your US interview day, same for US when your application are being processed by IRCC. So , i think people need understand how some of these things work, because i have few contacts in these embassies, and we talk sometimes. OyoTunjiUSA:
Hey 🤠
When you declare your 700k income for Canada was the visa for the family of four ?
1. US and Canada does not share same immigration portal , but they share sensitive information . Therefore , the US visa process is different to Canada visa process .
2. Part of the differences in visa process is that Canada visa application allows you to submit different financial evidences at the same time , while the United States deduces your financial capability via the duration of your work (years you have been working ) and your monthly income which you indicated in your DS 160.
3. Back to your salary of 700k, it's not too bad especially if you have been earning the 700k for longer years like 7 to 8 years back , so if you think what works for Canada should work for USA then go ahead with your mindset .
Best Wishes 🙏
The most important thing i always tell people, Both online, in the application forms, everywhere and anywhere, allow your information correspond, and if you need update, Please update. They check everywhere to find facts about an applicant and if there are discrepancies in your information, they beckon on that for decision making. So before you apply for visa, Check online, Check everywhere to be sure you do not have adverse media or related issues. Goodluck guys. 2 Likes |

If i may ask, the quickest way to enter spain now. Is it via work or study? Which did you enter spain with? Your advise will be highly appreciated fancyto:
The whole of Europe and particularly Spain are looking to cutting down the number of Schengen visas they issue because they realise most people enter to seek asylum or travel to other countries. I remember I was once denied a Portuguese visa even after submitting the right documents but as God would have it I entered Spain and it was when I entered Spain I got the information that all Schengen countries have unanimously agreed to cut down on the numbers visa they issued for obvious reasons. Even people who apply for students visa don't get it easy like before. Having said that anyone can be lucky because it's no longer a walk in the park. One documents I would advise anyone to check properly when applying to any European country is your bank statements that's the most important. |
