Investment / Re: How My Younger Sister Got Scammed Of ₦1 Million Crypto Fraud! by Huzzie: 6:00pm On Feb 23, 2022 |
@Patrioticbreed9 So sorry for your loss…. Crypto trading by itself isn’t a scam, but you have to be wary of the get rich quick syndrome. I used to be a day trader, and have seen it all; was scammed for being greedy, after that I was scammed for being too careful. The bottom line, don’t think about what you would have in your account, think about what’s already in your account and walk away. After I was scammed, I trained myself on how to be a day trader when COVID just started and it worked perfectly for me. I stopped day trading and just invest little amount in meme coin with potential. Nothing comes easily. I remember teaching a friend how to make $2 per day with $200 capital, and his respond was “shey that one nah money”. I am quite sure my friend would gladly fall for a Scammer that tells him his $200 will turn $600 in a month. From my day trading experience, you can triple your money staking, however, you can lose everything as well. Spot trading requires commitment to be able to make $50 per month with $200. |
Career / Re: 6 Things Holding You Back From Personal Growth ...which Is Yours? by Huzzie: 1:16pm On Jul 27, 2021 |
Nice write up….#6 is key. I didn’t realize the essence of belief in oneself until last week. I sailed through a prestigious certification with a 2week preparation plan, even after a friend/mentor told me it wasn’t possible. In his words “it doesn’t matter how smart you are, 2weeks isn’t sufficient “. At first this almost got to me, but I told myself he doesn’t know me like I know me. To cut the long story short, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise “ You are your worse enemy” if people look down on you, don’t look down on yourself. 14 Likes |

Kriss77: HBV by itself isn't the red flag, the person's case might be.... I know people with HBV who are currently in Canada. My advise is this; if you have HBV or know someone who does, before applying for trv ensure the necessary tests has been done to know if you are a carrier or not, and that it's being treated properly. This isn't just for your application but for your own good. |

maspero22:"curiosity kills the cat" "anxiety kills faster than death itself" You have applied already, why do you want to put your hope on our judgement? Regardless of your religious inclination.... Never lose hope, and always be positive. Honestly, you don't have anything to worry about on the gap in studies because your job covers the gap, it would have been a different scenario if you don't have a job. Your age isn't a shortfall. BE811APP:There's no special thing to it....basically, it's explaining the purpose of visit. My spouse's has 3 paragraphs. 1st paragraph was literally an introduction into who she is, where she lives and how long we have known each other. 2nd paragraph gave an insight into her academic background, experience and what she currently does. In her last paragraph she clearly stated that she wanted to come into Canada to help me emotionally, psychologically and financially. That being away from loved ones for too long can lead to poor academic performance. All the best. 7 Likes |

adesbaba:Accounting is one of the most lucrative professions in Canada. 9 out of 10 schools will request GMAT as a requirement to get into the accounting program at the masters level. Based on my research in 2012/2013, I knew 2schools that didn't request GMAT, Brock University (Masters in Accountancy $20k+) and UNBC (Masters in finance $8k+). Believe me, with your budget you can't get a Masters program in Accounting without GMAT, while as for Pgd in accounting or business related courses, you will spend at least twice your budget in Ontario. To proof any of this assertion wrong, you would have to dig deep into every university/college in Canada. All the best. Cheers |

adesbaba:I amnot sure if there are colleges that are these low for a session. But, coming to Canada goes past the admission process, you have to proof to the Visa officer that you are financially buoyant. Anyways, all the best....try to make the findings you might need, then peeps here will gladly help. |

SegunWamiri: Thanks man... Spouse's document All Application forms including Representative form ( Me) Letter of purpose Invitation letter Marriage certificate Change of name Letter of employment (spouse) Vacation letter Certificates; birth cert, WAEC, Diploma, B.Tech, AAT, NYSC CV My documents Landed property documents Financial statements $6000+ Study permit and work permit (coop) My letter of employment (coop) and confirmation of studies letter from school Two months pay stub Transcripts. I did everything from Canada, addressed it to Ghana The Visa Officer, High Commission of Canada, Visa section, P.O. Box 1639, Accra, Ghana. Just a pointer to anybody applying for SOWP, if you don't see the "proof of relationship" as one of the required, you have to double check your answers. I guess this was the only thing that I missed in the first application. Proof of finances wasn't one of the required, but man one must be wise..... 7 Likes 3 Shares |

VICTORDEBELS: If she is on medication and has done the required test( I don't know what it's called but I know it's expensive), she wouldn't spend too much for additional test during medicals. 1 Like 1 Share |

It's been awesome joining this wonderful thread since 2013 (part 5, i think). I just want to encourage everyone to keep hope high. My wife got her Spousal Open Wok Permit (SOWP) on Thursday and I thought this might lift someone's spirit out there. Applied for SOWP on December 7th with upfront medicals, after 3months of waiting, application was denied March 3rd based on two grounds. -Purpose of visit -Proof of relationship. I was upset on the reasons given because I found it absurd. Immediately she gathered necessary documents and emphasized in her SOP the reasons for previous denial and how she has provided evidence to address it. Re-applied March 7. Medicals passed& Passport request March 23th Passport submitted March 24th. TRV approved and dispatched March 29th. Picked up trv March 31St. My one cent- if you were denied TRV, all things being equal ensure that the reasons for denial are addressed before Re-applying. How do I know this, because I was also denied TRV in my first application in 2013. Anyways, kudos to the peeps that have kept this forum going, keep the good work up. Cheers 25 Likes 3 Shares |

40manlappy: To get Msc in Accounting or finance requires GMAT, that is the starting point. During my quest to avoid GMAT I found my current school (Brock) https://brocku.ca/business/future/graduate/maccdegrees/imacc and UNBC http://www.unbc.ca/commerce. (master of business administration with specialization in accounting, finance etc) Brock is in Ontario and is expensive while Unbc is in British Columbia and is extremely cheap. The challenge with UNBC is that the competition is very high because domestic and international students pay the same fee(used to be about $1700/semester for 5semesters), I know this because I applied there twice and a friend( also a nairalander) graduated from the Master of biz administration (specialization in finance) last year . But note that, starting from last year Nigerians applying to UNBC are required to write English Proficiency test. You could also check university of Saskatchewan, I think they have a good program http://www.usask.ca/programs/colleges-schools/grad-studies/programs/accounting.php. Tell your wife to start thinking of writing GMAT because this might be your meal ticket to cheap schools. Hope this was helpful. Cheers. 3 Likes |

Vorpal:I'm an Accountant and from what I have seen people transfer from college to my department. They usually start from the 2nd or 3rd year depending on the total transferable credit, and the brilliant ones struggle with the first semester because of the intensity involved. So that's my experience about accounting in my school, this may not be applicable else where because my school has the best accounting( or probably second best behind waterloo) prog. In Ontario. Hope that was helpful. Cheers |

Eruditor:Engineering is one of those courses that people go to colleges to gain hands on knowledge. Where I'm doing my Coop, one of the bosses graduated from my school (Brock uni) and went to Niagara college for a diploma in same course. Likewise, most of the savvy in the engineering department are products of Niagara college. I like your punchline from the bolded. Cheers 2 Likes |

Eruditor: Honestly, I was referring to everyone about the PGD vs Masters brouhaha not Mizbaby, I usually don't take sides in argument to allow me see reason in participants view. I have been on this forum for a long time and it is annoying to see the same argument regenerate from time to time. e.g. Does Canada share database with US, can the Embassy access the balance in ones account, PGD vs Masters etc. I come here from time to time because this forum attracts me like insect to light. Usually, I work backstage through PMs and I have met some Nairalanders one on one here in Canada which excite me. Anyways, we need more body to absorb this cold, make una do quick come abeg. Mizbaby: Being in Canada doesn't make one the master of all . I had earlier explained my plight in my first post. I would like to know the content of the mail you sent to Accra I need if for a relative. Application was sent Dec 6th with upfront medicals and nothing has been heard, mail was sent to DHC Lagos last week and the reply indicated that it is being processed in ACCRA. |
