Business / Choosing Between Facebook Page Or Group by IamUmason(m): 12:02pm On Dec 05, 2018
FACEBOOK GROUP OR PAGE
¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤

There's usually a sort of dilemma when bringing businesses to facebook, and a choice has to be made on how best to reach out to their target audience.

Facebook by default has two very powerful tools which if properly utilized will go a long way in helping a business meet it's goals. These are pages and groups.

I'm prompted to share this because I recently did a job for a client who was trying to expand his community but had chosen to use a group where a page is more suitable.

Sincerely he had done a great job he had over 500 members, a feat sort of.

But how do you make the choice? Which will give the results you desire?

I'm here to help making that decision as smooth sailing as can be. So be merry!

Whadis a page? A facebook page is basically a blown up profile which can be handled by more than one person (Admin). Only Admins can start conversations on a page making it suitable for a public figure or a business and has massive potential in terms of reach.

On the other leg, a group is an interest based community where there could also be more than one Admin but any member could start a conversation.

Let's look into pages further, shall we...
Contents on a page are publicly accessible, can be seen by anyone. So it's great for promotions.

You can easily review page performance using page insights.

Pages support use of third party apps aimed at enhanced user experience.

There's possibility of including CTA's on a page (call to action).

Squeeze pages can be used on a page to get information from prospects.

Your entire email list can be invited to like your page.

And for groups...

They're more collaborative in nature.
Only members can see the discussions within the group. It works best as an incubator.

Any member can share content ( usually based on group rules).

There's a strong communual feeling and bonding in groups.

A group's access can be public = anyone can join, closed = joining by invitation or private = only by invitation.

There are no use of third party applications "yet" in groups, and you can't include squeeze pages.

Facebook has features which make selling possible in groups.

The long and short of it is that pages work best for established brands and can be used to promote businesses. As ads could be run from a page.

And posts could be boosted to reach people who haven't liked the page. So it's also good at getting "new converts"

But groups do great for small businesses within a niche. Has good engagement and is more suitable for "believers "

Depending on your level of influence and "sabiness" though you could conveniently have both, using the page to attract prospects and then the group to rub minds.

Business / The Money Triangle by IamUmason(m): 11:17pm On Aug 11, 2018
[size=14pt]

The money triangle is a concept that explains the concept of building wealth and is centered around value, knowledge and relationships. It's a great guide for entrepreneurs whether they earn money online or offline, business owners, business enthusiasts and everyone who takes money issues seriously and that should be everybody alive.
I first learnt about this concept while watching an episode of Dan Lok's webinars his version is actually called wealth triangle and is slightly different from mine, he's fantastic about sales and making money generally and I will advise you find out more about him.
So what is money triangle and why should you be interested in learning more about it?
The money triangle is a triangle having three equal sides in mathematics such a triangle is called equilateral. So on its three sides it has the variables Knowledge, Value and Relationships but it clearly spells out that no one variable is more important than the others in the entrepreneur's path to achieving his set goals. The money triangle basically is aimed at making you the best while you thrive in your quest for building and maintaining wealth.
Now let's disect the triangle.
First is knowledge :
the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association (2) : acquaintance with or understanding of a science, art, or technique. Miriam Webster.
In all businesses and practically all of life's endeavors, knowledge is power it helps us make better decisions and choices which under normal circumstances results in good results.

Knowledge is power

Severally people have failed at business, in their personal lives and relationships because of this important factor and on the flip side a lot of people are succeeding daily because the have and apply the right knowledge in their fields or tasks.
Understanding customers’ needs and the business environment is a huge interface of information. If a market research is done, then the knowledge of the market can be integrated to the target clients specifically in developing new products/ services and improving existing ones.
As important as knowledge is, it's also very important that it is applied in the most appropriate situations as they demand and at the opportune moments because no matter how good the knowledge is if it is applied to the wrong situation it's never yielding the desired results nor will it achieve the goal if applied too early or too late. so precision is also required and sound knowledge will help you achieve that.
Next is Relationships
have you ever heard the phrase no man is an island?

Good relationships

Well this is practically true both in life and business. If you must build wealth, you must establish healthy personal and business relationships. I believe you would not recommend a store where you were treated badly to a friend neither would you nominate an arrogant shellfish colleague for a promotion or prize.
The key ingredient to succeed in business is making and keeping customers and that isn't a factor totally decided by providing a brilliant solution to their problems, but more in the relationship between your business or person and the customers or clients. You may not be in the profession of buying and selling maybe you are an investor or service provider a student an inventor the list goes on but the bottom line remains that your network determines your networth.

There's no better time to start building the life of your dreams than now and one very important tool you will need is the skill of creating and fostering healthy relationships

Value.
According to Webster value is a fair return or equivalent in goods, services, or money for something exchanged. Focus is on exchange so it isn't potential but kinetic. It's about what you put out into the world through your business or person that helps people solve their problems or prevent those problems. Value has to be given before you can earn an income either at a job or enterprise. A barber provides value by giving clients haircuts and if he happens to be the best he can charge a higher fee for services.

The more valuable you are the more returns you'll get. Key to delivering value is to "be" value as an individual irrespective of your profession or engagements you need to be a source of value it will automatically make you a magnet that constantly attracts success, happiness and wealth. Some essential values are
Bravery: In recognizing and pursuing and opportunity, an entrepreneur requires bravery. Bravery, which springs from natural creativity and a determined spirit, helps the entrepreneur deal with discouragement and even defeat.

Vision: Vision allows the you to see past your current position and beyond limited resources to more fully appreciate the potential of the future.Respect for self and others. Respect for one’s self and others is essential. It enables the individual to appreciate his or her efforts, relate effectively to family and community, and motivate others. This respect, which stems from pride, hope, and enthusiasm, frees you from the obstacles of low self-esteem, hopelessness, and anger.

Trust: . Trust, which results from reliability, compassion, and gentleness, permits Anyone to overcome mistrust, selfishness, and ruthlessness as they deals with employees, employers, customers, and vendors.

Honesty: An entrepreneur must be honest in financing the company and managing the assets of the firm. Honesty, which emanates from decisiveness in taking risks and making choices, lets the you avoid false security and stay calm amid confusing situations.

Generosity: In directing the management and operations of a growing business, an individual should be generous. Generosity, which develops from supporting and leading others, permits an entrepreneur to eliminate racial bias, reduce resistance to change, and heal dysfunctions within the organization.

Fortitude: An entrepreneur requires fortitude to keep a business strong and eventually bring it to harvest. Fortitude stems from persistence, realism, and consistency, strengthens the entrepreneur against scattered thinking and giving up.There's no such a thing as unfair advantage, but if it existed it will be within these three variables I've outlined. Knowledge puts you in a better position to recognize and create value establish and maintaining relationships, value attracts people to you. while good relationships retain them.

Let's hear from you in the comments section.

Business / How Gratitude Helps To Build Wealth by IamUmason(m): 7:33am On Jun 29, 2018
Gratitude is a feeling of thankfulness and appreciation shown for received or expected blessings, if you can breathe without aid, can walk and talk, have hopes or goals then you have so much to be grateful for. Expression of gratitude should not only be on reaching targets or upon attaining certain heights. Practicing gratitude is essential for our entire well being. Being grateful instead of feeling entitled will get you much further in life and being grateful really helps you build wealth in the following ways
Attracting customers and opportunities.

if you had to choose between being served by a pleasant waitress and a smug chilly one who would you naturally choose The happy going one right? that's how the world works people are attracted to happiness so if you are grateful and it shows you will naturally attract Better opportunity and customers in your work or business.
Creativity:

humans learn from bad experiences but do you know when you practice gratitude you are rewiring your brain and creating new neural pathways which will in turn ease your learning new vital skills such as financial management which is very important in the wealth building process . The more creative you are the more innovative solutions you provide and the world sure as hell rewards problem solvers.
Significantly increase financial intelligence.

"a fool and his money are soon parted" it is factual that a person who is bored or unhappy and has cash will spend without thinking twice just to feel instant gratification which is clearly a sign of lack of financial intelligence. On the flip side grateful and by implication happy people tend to weigh the consequences of their financial decisions and can set clear financial goals.

Gratitude researcher Robert Emmons says that those who practice gratitude consistently:
1. Are more helpful, generous and compassionate
2. Are more forgiving of others
3. Experience greater joy and pleasure
4. Are more outgoing and less likely to feel lonely or isolated
5. Have stronger immune systems
6. Experience fewer aches and pains
7. Report lower blood pressure and
8. Sleep more soundly.
HOW TO DEVELOP LASTING GRATITUDE

Start being grateful now. This moment you have is priceless so cherish it you need not wait for a bigger house a better job or more sales.

Consistently thinking about all the good things in your life while you can always fall back on everyday blessings—family, health, home, etc.—try meditating and you'll surely come up with new things to be grateful for each day. Writing them down will also help you.

Give help and support. this not only resonates with the law of sowing and reaping but when you go out of your way to help those who are less fortunate than you are it makes you realize how much you have to be grateful for.

Say thank you for even little favors buy more importantly feel it
Be present our minds are more adrift today than ever before with so many things calling for our attention. if you really want to learn gratitude you have to be intentionally present in the present you can't be grateful for something you didn't take note of.

Have a complaint free day or hour or at least 30 minutes. Let it be a period in which you'll just ignore things which irritate you and you'll be better off for it.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.— John F. Kennedy

Go be grateful.

Robot ascension

The Terminator may be science fiction, but robotic killing machines capable of thinking and acting on their own are not far from becoming a reality.

The United Nations recently called for a ban on killer robots - presumably because experts feared that several countries were developing them.

Inventor Elon Musk, co-founder of Paypal, said last year that artificial intelligence might be the “greatest existential threat” that humans face.

And Stephen Hawking recently said: “The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race. Humans, who are limited by slow biological evolution, couldn’t compete, and would be superseded.”
It may interest you to know that this is the same reason Microsoft recalled an artificial intelligence chatbot (tay) it was supporting "hitler".

maize
Photo: Flairng.com

The price of Nigerian maize has risen as imports are speculated to have reduced to 200,000 metric tonnes (MT), as a result of global increase in prices of maize.

This development was shown in the maize outlook for 2016 by Novus Agro Nig. Ltd, which was made available on Thursday to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

The agro-company attributed the curtailed imports to the weakening of the naira and higher global maize prices, a trend for the first time in many years.

According to the outlook, although, the prices of maize increased slightly in mid-October 2015 between N45, 000 and N50, 000 per MT until early January, selling at N65, 000.

“Prices of maize and other grains have risen sharply in the past few weeks, leading into January 2016 bucking a five-year trend in the market.

“While several reasons have been attributed to this unprecedented increase in farm-gate prices, no single reason seems to account for the percentage year-on-year change.

“Maize prices fluctuate over the course of the year primarily due to the rain-fed nature of Nigerian agriculture and consequent availability of maize in the market place.

“Curtailed imports of maize into Nigeria is the combination of a weak naira and higher global maize prices.

“This has seen Nigerian maize for the first time in many years, cheaper than imported maize, leading to lower import prospects.

“However, with the perspective that only about 200,000 MT is imported annually, as against the 7.5million tons produced locally.

“This effect only fuels speculation, which will increase the belief that macro-economic uncertainties might be largely to blame,’’ the outlook stated.

It also indicated that the prices of maize increased early January due to the spike in dollar exchange rate, from N225 in Dec. 2015 to N305 in mid-January.

Other attributes to the increase included insurgency in North-East Nigeria and increased spot-buying at the farm gate, by poultry farmers.

“The Naira fell sharply against the dollar from NGN225 in Dec. 2015 to NGN305 in mid-January.

“This has led to nervousness as to possible inflationary effects on the wider economy, by traders.

“Global rise in maize prices with spikes in Southern Africa due to drought in 2015.

“Current maize contracts for March delivery in South Africa are hitting $315 in this week’s trading.

“Effects of the insurgency in the North-East of Nigeria, while this has been proffered as a reason with Adamawa State specifically cited.

“The effects can only be largely speculative, as prices in neighbouring Taraba and Gombe, remained largely unaffected till early to mid-January.

“Also, increased spot-buying by large-sized poultry farms that are self-milling feeds primarily has the effect of keeping higher prices stickier than usual.

“Even when lower volumes are traded, they represent a baseline demand at almost any price point, set by traders,’’ it said.

NAN reports that traditionally, maize prices start trending downwards from mid-October and get to their lowest prices between January and February, as new maize stocks are harvested and brought into the market.

I am not an experienced farmer but I have been resaerching on plantain farming and have to share what ive found with you guys.
PLANTAIN SET-UP
Plantains are a member of the banana family. They are a starchy, low in sugar variety that is cooked before serving as it is unsuitable raw. it is eaten boiled, roasted or fried and can be dried to make plantain flour.
They are very reliable sources of starch and energy; ensuring food security for millions of inhabitants worldwide.
Nutritional benefits include:
 . It contains 2.3 g of dietary fiber per 100 g (6% of DRA per 100 g). Adequate amount of dietary-fiber in the food helps normal bowel movements, thereby reducing constipation problems.
 Fresh Plantains have more vitamin C than bananas
 Rich in vitamin A. Besides being a powerful antioxidant, vitamin A plays a vital role in the visual cycle, maintaining healthy mucus membranes, and enhancing skin complexion.
 They also provide adequate levels of minerals such as iron, magnesium, and phosphorous. Magnesium is essential for bone strengthening and has a cardiac-protective role as well.
 Rich in potassium, Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps control heart rate and blood pressure, countering negative effects of sodium.

The cost implications of setting up are stated below
Acquiring land: 50,000
Site preparation:
Purchase of 1000 suckers single bunch @85 per sucker: 85,000
Transportation of suckers to farm: 15, 000
Purchase and transport of poultry dropping: 20,000
Planting @N20 per sucker: 20,000
Weeding: 20,000
Miscellaneous 20,000
Security and management 50,000

MARKET POTENTIAL
With recent waves of health awareness people are seeking low sugar high energy giving foods. The price of a bunch of plantain could vary between N350-N700 this would yield between N350,000 and N700,000 in the first year of operation depending on the time of harvest(usually farmers plant around the same period flooding the market, it may be more profitable to either dry or produce chips at such periods)
HINDRANCES
The expected hindrances are theft and market instability wind and invasion by monkeys.
Theft could be largely controlled by the presence of the farm manager/security.
Market instability as stated will be countered by converting produce to flour or chips when prices fall.
wind can be put in check by siting Your farm in a place where there are trees that will serve as windbreakers or planting suitable windbreakers yourself. it is also adviseable to spread ashe s aroud the plantain base to make them firmer.
Monkeys could be controlled using scarecrows and by the presence of farm hands.

OTHER SOURCES OF INCOME.
While plantain farming promises to be a good investment it is wise not to place all eggs in one basket. Thus intercropping with maize, melon vegetables etc which are market ready earlier than the plantain will either reduce the shock of low returns or increase income.
