There are many factors they consider in granting visas. You may have all the money and still have your visa denied. The person you quoted didnt tell us whether he applied alone then or with his wife which is what am thinking. He didnt tell us how many days he filled in his application. So its possible that his finance was insufficient for the content of his application. There was an applicant here who said he submitted a bank statement with 80k and he got his visa. Each case is independent and treated as such.

God bless you for the clarity....i thought about this too but needed more clarification

Hello guru in the house i need your timely advice and response.
I was denied visa 2010 and 2015. This is 2018 am thinking of giving it a trial again. The most common reason of refusal is low and insufficient fund in my account and no ties to my country. Then i used 1.5m on my bank statement. This year I have told my brother in uk to do all the sponsorship while I present my 2.3m joint savings account. Even though my wife is not going with me. I earn like 250kmonthly and annual is 5m above.
Please should i write a cover letter to appeal to them and I need your advice please I am thinking of sending all document this week or next month. Please also I have forgotten the current requirement and sites u need you people's guidance.Thank you all.

Please guys, i need to ask a question about what this post...the poster said he was refused a visa, reason being "low and insufficient funds in his account" with 1.5m balance...i dont know how true this is, Because in my own case i have 1.3m in my account (savings 990k, company 400k) with 3landed properties and planning to apply with budget of 820k (1700£)...i think there are cases here where people with equivalent or lower balance gets their visas issued...please someone should kindly clear my doubt.

A groomsman, my best friend from childhood is the groom but the wife invited me cause he is a permanent resident and at such felt the wife who was born and bred in America inviting me would carrry much weight. As for travel history UAE, Southafrica.
Nowadays a good job doesn’t even mean a thing to them anymore. Am single, fiancée is schooling in the UK, "I have this feeling that I would get the visa if I can stay calm during the interview". Reading stuffs here though is making me feel less qualified with everything.

Bro all you need is to calm down....dont judge your application by what you read here...what you read here is only to guide you through your application and learn from people's mistakes and experience...so be confident and dont act like you need the visa really bad...you will see people in front of you havig thier interviews so that should make you feel relaxed and calm a kinda way ...smile and look straight into the VO's eyes while answering questions...please dont try to cram anything. I hope this helps and wish you success....

You don’t need to cancel the appointment, the ukvi do not share info with the US. My first ever visa application was US and I was refused, after which I have had a German visa and three uk visas without mentioning my US refusal in all the applications.
Work on other aspects of the application. Good luck

Aww...thanks bro....but all the same, i think it is better now because I would be rest assured i said the truth and whichever way the outcome is, I would be justified and wont regret lieing...Thanks all the way bro

I cancelled my first application because i couldnt get the money i was expecting and also made a mistake about my income...

Thanks bro...i got a mail from them stating this...you are so right...Thanks all the way

They can verify anything if they want to, avoid lying in your application not even when they have your biometric details. They don't need to see the refusal stamp on your passport to know that you been refused before

Thanks alot bro...i have learnt my lessons...I am glad I didn't learn it the hard way (been denied because of that)...I have cancelled my application already, hoping to start all over today...God bless everyone

@ekpotek Thanks for the sound advice. My decision made status was ticked yesterday evening marking 18 working days. I got the passport ready for collection notification this morning on my way to work.

Despite all the concerns I had, my application was successful; 2 yrs visit visa. I guess my travel history bailed me out. Thank God I didn't withdraw lol. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on my earlier post.

Congratulations sir...

uwc, did they stamp your passport after refusing you?? if they did, then they will see you have been refused by US.. but if they don't, I think it will be hard for them to know since they did not take ur biometric..

but all the same try to be truthful in your application...

No, they didn't stamp my passport...I have some travel history though, I just thought the USA refusal could affect my chances...but after reading this thread, i found out its not a criteria because I have all required documents (CAC for my hotel, Personal income taX clearance, LIRS certificate for the company, 2 houses and 2 acres of land in Lagos, account balance of 1.3million)...but as it stands, i will have to cancel the appointment and do another one immediately...but i dont know how long the refund will take...Thanks all the way bro

have you done your biometric?? if not I will suggest you cancel your visa application at the ukvi website and you will request for a refund...

Thanks alot for your response, I haven't done my biometrics yet...but i just want to be sure if they verify usa previous denial...but i think i will cancel it and have it done all over...Thanks

Hello guys, I just came accross this wonderful forum...and i love the fact that there are civilization people on here....Please i need a kinda assessment and suggestion...
I was surfing the Internet sometime 2weeks ago and saw some few interesting thingstring about the UK, though I have not thought about visiting the UK before now. Insight of this, i was amazed and immediately searched the application process. jokingly, i applied and paid the visa fee immediately since all i was asked was at my disposal...But what bothers me is i think i dont hAve enough knowledge and advice from someone that has applied before and wont like to be denied for an unworthy reason...so i would like to share my info for a brief assessment and advice..

I am a business owner in Lagos (hotel), i own 2 properties, currently I have about 1.3 million in my 3 accounts (including my business account which is about 3months old)but I can make all total 2million before my appointment date,I am single, when asked in the application how much i would spend for the trip, i inputted 1million (i dont know if this is too small)...I have travelled to Dubai and Ivory Coast...and i forgot to state that I purposely fixed an appointment for 29th of June so i can prepare well and also at the time i applied, i didnt input any hotel reservation or booking (I hope this is not bad)

Please guys I need to know if there is something I need to get to make my application successful....I await your response guys..Cheers

. My mother will take care of them because I lost my mother in law last year , one more thing, we don't have any travel experience.

Sir, I will advice you to chill out alittle and travel to south africa or dubai first...its very hard to get a US visa without a prior traveling experience...especially in your own case where both of you dont even have any experience...and I think a month is too much considering the fact that you are leaving your kids here with your aged mother...personal thought tho...the Vo might not find a big deal in that(just saying)...personally I think 20 days max is ok..i hope that helped..Regards

My issue is this, my salary is not that fat because I work with my ND certificate but I have a landed property with 2 flats already roof on it. I also have other business that is fetching me money aside my salary and my wife is doing well in her business. Do we have any chance of getting this visa as we are not going with the children and we are spending just a month as regards my annual leave Thanks

I went for my interview last week but I have been busy to share my transcript(ramadan and work can be stressful)....

First of all I will like to share the transcript of the guy in front of me(I will start from what I met them saying before joining the queue),(window 1 guy, he looks like someone that has an hangover)

Yesterday
Vo: ooh.. congrats(not knowing that was d root of his problem)

Vo came with tha bomb: do you know new born babies are always expensive at birth and you think the best is for you to travel. What plans have you made

Guy: started stammering) we will do naming ceremony

The point is dont say thing because you think the vo will pity u or e happy with you...it might be the cause of your denial..

Vo: where are you going to?
Me: xyz for abc conference

Vo: what do you do?

I am one of the silent reader of this forum. This will be my first post here in almost 2 years. I thank everyone that has taken their time to share their knowledge and insights on obtaining US visa. I secured my first US visa this week at my 3rd attempt. I have a brother in US who filed for my family since 2007. My first attempt was in 2010 going for training but was refused. I attempted again in march 23rd this year, going for holiday, the VO asked me only 2 questions and denied me. I thought I was denied again because of my pending immigrant application but when I read the VO's comment here that this category of people still get visa, I then decided to give it a shot again. Below is the script of my interview:

Vo: Hi
Me: Hello
Vo: Why are you going to the US
Me: To attend training on ...... during ....... Exhibition in Texas
Vo: What do you do?
Me: I'm an ............. professional
Vo: Have you traveled before?
Me: Yes
Vo: Where & where?
Me: China, South Africa, Kenya & some west African states
Vo: Are you married?
Me: Yes
Vo: How many kids?
Me: 3
Vo: Tell me more about the ....?
Me: Please can you come again?
Vo: Tell me more about the training you are going for in Texas?
Me: .............................. is ............, we need this training in order to......
Vo: (Cut in) ok.... kept typing for about 45 secs..... pls pick up your visa in 3 working days and she stretched the white form across...

Please note that I stated my purpose at the exhibition, I learnt that from this forum!
Then, I noticed that these guys give people visa only at their discretion, while I was on the que, a woman in her mid 50s going to visit her student son in the US was issued the visa when she even stated that her son in going to pay for her trip. I can say it is just FAVOUR of God!

Thanks everyone!

Congrats Latech!!!
