Exactly. And that is why rats now even dream of defeating an incumbent President in an election. They enjoy the dividends of the transformation agenda in our democratic space yet they'll never give credit to whom it is due.

Who says an incumbent cannot be defeated. Even a well orchestrated scientific rigging cannot save GEJ come 2015. You seem not to be connected with current realities of our political journey as a nation.

Electing Buhari would be retrogressive, even with all of GEJ's failings I would not support an ageing man whose only claim to credibility is 'integrity' from way back in the early-mid 80's when probably half the Nigerians alive right now were not even born.

I don't really doubt his integrity, but clearly we need far more than just integrity at this moment. Buhari's utterances on violence in the North are not exactly palatable (albeit blown out of proportion by the PDP). Nonetheless he is not a suitable candidate - he is from a different era and should be mentoring younger candidates.

I think we can do much, much, better.

You don't doubt his integrity yet you would support someone who believes stealing is not corruption. SMH

XketchDesigns:

why don't you stop justifying laziness and tell the truth.

All you have said was right bro. I agree you are trying to paint the true picture of things without any form of compromise.
But Your approach would have been justified if you knew her and you are sure your approach matches her level of understanding of the deen. Otherwise, I would submit it was a wrong approach.
From her comments, I deduce she is upcoming, hence you could say exactly the same thing and even more effectively in a different manner.
Her post summarises the thoughts and mentality of many of our scarphite and capite sisters. When I got Married to my ex, the first issue was hijab and she said "even this cape I am using, before I could get a place to do my IT I know what my eye see how much more using an hijab. Who would employ me".
The topic is very important and I think instead of derailing it, the learned brothers and sisters should rather encourage her and her likes through subtle means without compromising the dictates of the Qur'an and sunnah.

I believe you're a Muslim. So why don't you try the MSMS thread on the Islam for Muslims section?

Best of luck.

Thanks. I only saw the religion section. Would try to find it out. Thanks
