I don't know which courses are under life sciences, but I know most universities prefer those from basic health sciences, hence I would advise the UTME route if you don't want to end up wasting a year at home chasing D.E... Not sure if there are rules against D.E and UTME simultaneously but if there aren't, do take on both to be safe

As regards the age, I would say you're even too young to be asking this question. I know coursemates who stayed at home writing jamb till they were 20-23, and they started in year 1, that's aside the coursemates who are above 25 and some in their 30s. Trust you'll always meet those way older than you are in med school and also those who got it just after their 16th birthday. I'm saying, forget age here especially if you're as young as you are.

You should be less bothered about the strikes, for all we know, this could the last one for a long time or one of many, its impossible to plan around this things. The only choice is going to a private or foreign university, if you can't afford that then you just have to live with the strikes

Like someone once said, whether or not you take action now, you'll grow older anyway, its better you do that chasing your dream.

Good luck in your journey
Thanks. I studied micrbiology by the way.

Hello guys. Do u guys think it's too late at 22 to go for mbbs. I intend on getting in via direct entry, so instead of the 6 years it would b 5years. I am a graduate with good grades from a life sciences department. But the situation of the country is also making me afraid(ASUU and co). Do u guys think it's worth it. My parents are willing to fund me Gods willing. I have always dreamt of getting an mbbs degree.

TochiPhotos:

Yes, if your course is in Russian language you obviously have to do the preparatory year first. You have to get admission to Bachelors or Masters first to enable you continue after the preparatory program. If you didn't get admission first and only came for preparatory year program, after the program, you'll need to return to Nigeria and re apply again for full time study visa. I hope this is clear. Please search for the dedicated Russian student visa thread or check out my previous posts for a comprehensive guide on how to apply for Russian student visa.
Hello. Quick one. Do you have any idea what it might cost to study medicine over there. I already have a bsc in a medical science related course. Thanks

Good day fellow medical students
I would like to ask a question...
I have a first degree in physiology from Olabisi Onabanjo Uni with 2:1. My O’level result is below;
Maths B3
Eng B3
Chem C4
Bio C5
Phy C5
I actually applied to OAU due to low tuition fee but now im thinking of switching to another Uni because I don’t want to gamble/lose with my admission this year.
Do you think I have a chance in OAU? If OAU is not visible, which other fed uni can I choose putting my o’level and 1st degree result into consideration?
Don’t tell me to switch to OOU because I know that my chances of gaining admission into OOU for MBBS is very high considering the post utme exams that will be done and the fact that it’s my alma mater but the tuition fee is something else(200k+).
Hello did u go for nysc before taking direct entry. I find myself in a similar situation

Please we are talking about universities here, not secondary or primary schools.
and moreover what were the jamb scores of the Edo and Ebonyi guys?.
Your analysis is incomplete and lacking sense.
Plus you are yet to see anybody with 204 get into MBBS in any Nigerian university.
point one out for me if u have.
Am not saying it's not possible in Nigeria, but if such a thing happens connection was definitely involved.
Bros i have seen someone with 184 in jamb who is in a fedral university studying medicine

Happy eid to everyone celebrating. While we celebrate Eid comfortably in our homes, a skul in Rivers state hear a polytechnic(Captain Elechi polytechnic formally known as port harcourt polytechnic) is conducting exams 4 students 2day.If there is anything anyone can do to bring this to a halt it would be appreciated. If this was the other way round probably the gullible ones would be shouting Islamization... Is this not christianization also.
