What you guys call a gear box problem is either a software or ECU problem. If you are talking of the hesitation to accelerate problem. The Gear box ECU is having problems storing the default gearing program and causing the late gear selection. To fix it TEMPORARILY you need to reset the ECU.

You don't know the salary structure and you received a job offer? Are you joking?

Even if you didn't then why did you apply for a job without asking around for the salary?

Later you would come here complaining that you salary is too small and your boss is over working you.

Why 200 million? Why not 500 mill or 50mill or 10mill or even 0mill

Is praying for peace not part of their job functions?
If boko boys don't go away, do we get a refund?
Are they not suppose to refund us for preaching about a religion that is causing terror while people lose lives and property.

Where were these miracle workers when ebola was killing Nigerians?

gemale:

WOW!!! ur simplificatn was superb tho i didnt rili undrstnd d last part.
Read the last Paragraph of this current post. I hope you understand now.
Xano:

It is very risky to increase interest rates as you suggested, due to its effect on loans and liquidity of the bank institutions. Banks don't want much liabilities, as such, decline on some loan requests.
Manufacturers and importers will feel the pinch, the end consumers will feel their pockets. Vacations will be expensive, leading to increase in tourist sites around the country because of the exchange rate.

You are very correct.

High Interest rates make is a way to cushion the risk involved in investing in Nigerian Bonds and treasury bills by foreign investors, which is the only way to attract more dollars since we don't sell any other thing other than oil. At low interest rate and the rapid devaluing Naira rate, people would take their money to other countries like UK and US for safe investing (The Millionaires and Billionaires).

Since banks can't find business at high interest rate cause other countries are at single digit rates, the govt would have to bail out the banks by doing the borrowing of a large chunk of their liquid assets at a fair enough interest rate(say 5%) (Which is want the US bail out was).

But banks could Round trip (go buy bonds and T bills at 13%) and make 8% no sweat (its not impossible in Nigeria)
Car Talk / Re: Are European Cars Truly Expensive To Maintain? by icemann(m): 2:58pm On Jul 15, 2015
Ikenna351:
Peugeot cars are one of the best European cars you can ever have. They are not just friendly, reliable, durable and fun to drive, but posses a particular attitude that leaves one behind their wheels smiling. And most importantly, they eat miles. All you need is face their noses anywhere and they bring you back, wishing for more adventures to take.

But to enjoy the good life they give out to the owners, you must love them. When you love something, you respect it. When you respect something, you care for it and protect it. When you care for something and protect it, you will not abuse it. That's all you need to pull a Lion, never look back and forever be grateful.

Ikenna

Oga the bolded words are Misguiding, so you rate Peugeot above Porsche, M Benz and Volvo?

@ OP, If you live in Nigeria i would advise you to buy a Nissan. Reasons are,
1. The most important, YOUR CAR IS NOT TOP OF THE ROBBERY LIST (Like Honda and Toyota).
2. Its as reliable as "them Toyota"(The reliability dropped in the early 2000's when the stupid French company called Renault had an alliance with Nissan).
3. Buy any Nissan from 2005/2006 and above you would be happy with it.(Avoid them 1998 to 2004. Like i said above, these french people can't make shitt work).
4. They are cheaper than Honda and Toyota in Nigeria due to low demand.
5. Every Kaseem can fix them.
6. Parts are available.
7. Parts are as cheap as other Japs.
And 2nd Most important, ICEMANN advised you. cool cheesy (Na Joke)

The budget was calculated at $60 for oil but currently oil is trading at $ 57 a barrel. It's going to get lower than $57 when Iran sanctions are lifted. It is estimated that oil would drop to around $40 to $45 range by end of this year when Iran's oil hit the market. So by the end of the year i estimate 300 to a $1. SO CONVERT YOUR SAVING TO DOLLARS. Exchange rate has never gone down so you will not lose money.

Look at it this way, imagine an individual earning 100K and later it drops to 60k(40% drop). First the savings gets spent(excess crude account). Cuts would be made on luxury items like Friday night Moet (private jet). Next siblings and girl friend allowance( fuel subsidy) and the list goes on till equilibrium is reached.

Less earnings means less Dollars in circulation(since Nigeria mooches off the govt earnings). So the demand for dollars is high aka high exchange rate. Its more complex than what i explained but its gives you an idea.

To cushion that effect CBN would raise interest rates to around 20% to 30%. This is to cushion inflation and attract foreign bonds

Alternative approach which is riskier is to print money like the US did in 2008. Not a good advice but if it clicks Nigeria would survive this recession.

Car Talk / Re: Passat TSI by icemann(m): 11:18pm On Jun 26, 2015
Handling: The handling was good for a 16" rim. The steering response was on point felt like a Luxury car. The brakes were poor compared to my 2004 murano. The breaking distace was long at first till i got used to it.

Fuel Economy: Its turbo 1.8 L so it sipped slowly. Was getting about 30 MPG (Highway and city)

Looks: Nice for a Standard mid size car

Interior: No impressed, the Altima and Honda have a better interior. Nice faux leather but didn't fool me

Speed: Delayed acceleration (Normal for a turbo). took i while to get used to the delayed acceleration.

Comfort: Enough leg and head room. The steering felt a little far away from me

Overall its a very good car. I say 8/10

Next week i would review a Camry.

I fail to see the joke. The op said the car is misfiring. Therefore, the spark plugs, ignition coil and less likely the plug wires would be responsible.
ignition coil has nothing to do with misfiring.

Also Nissan Skyline R32 and R33 (Japanese version) are like $30K. Don't ask me why.
Car Talk / Re: Which Car Should Go First (Experts Only) by icemann(m): 5:36pm On Apr 28, 2015
The answers may be on the yield signs. (which we Nigerians do pay attention to)

NO 3 first, Reason is No yield sign
NO 1 next, Reason is His yield sign is blank
NO 2 next, Reason is the sign kinda look like "yield for traffic on the right"

So it's 3-1- 2

Just my two. I may be wrong.

1) Excellent. Seun doesn't ask us to agree on his forum. We just have to be respectful in our disagreements.

2) Excellent. Keep using it then.

3) Excellent, it's good that you have that experience. Many online reviewers also think Hitler is the greatest human that ever lived. So where does that leave us?

4) I in fact call it snake oil and yes I feel good (but then I always do grin ) I could post the hundreds of reviewers who disagree with using snake oil but it will prove nothing. It works for you and thats what counts, for you.

5) I don't know, you'll have to ask them just like I did grin

" Question: Do I need to add a bottle of deposit control additive such as Techron® Concentrate Plus to the gasoline in my fuel tank?
Answer: If you regularly use a high-quality gasoline such as Chevron, Texaco and Caltex, you probably don't need Techron® Concentrate Plus. However, should you occasionally fill up with lower quality gasoline, you may need Techron Concentrate Plus to help clean up deposits that can build up over time. In addition, if you have an engine that is sensitive to deposit formation, or if your vehicle is regularly used under severe conditions, you may also benefit from using Techron Concentrate Plus."

http://www.techron.com/what-is-techron/questions-answers.aspx#

The issue is two fold:

1) This requires accurate ratio. Only a die hard motorist will know the exact volume of gas in his car and then pour the exact ratio of additive required. Most keyboard experts have never cracked open an engine before. Especially an engine that they've owned from brand new and used only regular gas from a trusted brand. If one does that then you'll realize that you're just tossing money away.

2) These additives are harsh, they have to be harsh in order to be able to clean deposits. So when proper ratio is not used then you have a situation where the oil is diluted from leakages from the bore.

So yes I do not use "Snake Oils" in any of my cars.

Lets do a summary of what we are talking about and correct me if i'm wrong.

OP: Fuel in Nigeria is mostly ungraded and also usually adulterated, Use Xtreme Fuel Treatment( The brand name) to help clean your car fuel system.
You: All fuel Treatment are fake (Snake oil)
Me: I recommend Chevron Techron. Works well for me.
You: Still maintain my point(snake oil). You Quote the Chevron Techron website and this is what they said "if you have an engine that is sensitive to deposit formation, or if your vehicle is regularly used under severe conditions, you may also benefit from using Techron Concentrate Plus."

At this point i don't know what you are arguing about because you are quoting a website that validates my statement.
