Apply for your wife and child.

When the Baby arrives, apply for the Baby and he/she will attend with your wife. You can always change your wife's biometric date to tally with the new baby's date.

Hello everyone,

Please I need expert advice on my situation as I am about to start the application process.

I want my spouse and daughter to attend my graduation in May 2025 and I am planning to book their visa appointments for the end of April 2025. My spouse is, however, pregnant, with the expected due date in February 2025. Would it be possible to add the newborn to their application for the visa interview in April? I am concerned about waiting until after the baby is born before i start the application process, as I fear I may not be able to secure a visa interview appointment in time.

How best do you advise I approach this? Thank you.

🤠

* F2 is created for F1-VISA holders , ie wife, children , house help etc, but the only student category who have being more favourable with F2 VISA applications is PhD, followed scantily by Msc.

1. If you are on PhD (especially) or Msc with full fundings , yes F2 will be favourable in this scenario. But if you have less than 100% of funds, your F2 VISA application will be based on your family ability to proof availability of funds for the F1 dependent (s) (F2).

2. Presently, B1/B2 is more favourable, and easier to secure than F2 VISA,
except if, the F2 VISA applicant is a minor, or teenager under adulthood age.

3. F2 visa holder in America is absolutely dependent on F1 visa holder, b/cos f2 visa holder (adult) is not permitted to work, and attend degree or credit award institutions, and 75% of the time, only the change of status of F1 VISA holders in the USA can also change the status of F2 visa holders.

4. B1/B2 VISA holder , who is visiting his or her F1 partner in the USA may decide to change VISA status outside the control of F1 VISA holder, he or she can look for work, process school admission etc, and process the necessary CHANGE OF VISA status request.

PS : B1/B2 wins. But it depends on your present situation.

🙏

Thank you for your response
I am two months into my ten months MSc program and I am struggling to make a decision on what kind of visa to process for my wife and daughter.

We both share a similar story, got my offer letter yesterday to resume in September. This question has been running through my mind.
A lot of factors are actually affecting mine. My US visa interview is ending of next month. I’m not sure if I have the financial resources to pursue Canada application this term

No, you don’t need a PAL for M.Sc program and that was why it wasn’t mentioned. Congratulations on your M.Sc program admission.

Noted.
Thank you for your best wishes.

Have you been working on your application before now , most especially your POF? If yes, you got more than enough time but if not , you may consider your second option . People have been getting responses to their applications in just 4 weeks even though response time was stated to be 15 weeks on IRCC website. One thing you must not do at this point is to get discouraged or compare yourself to anyone. Some people have already gotten their PPR but some others that are yet to submit their files as at today will surely get theirs too and all can resume at same time - September.

Another area you may consider is your program, do you need PAL , if yes , that might be a factor because IRCC had a cap for every province on programs that need PAL and as soon as that is achieved, they might not be giving approvals again until next cycle.

Finally, you may consider cost of air ticket right now . It is getting high so the earlier you apply and get your approval, the better you stand to buy affordable tickets. You may factor this in your consideration to reaching a final decision.

Whatever you decide, be courageous and strong , prepare a very strong POF and SOP , you will celebrate.

I wish you the best!

Thank you for your response.
I however need a clarification on the PAL issue. I have been admitted into a MSc programme. Do I need PAL? No mention of that in my admission condition. I was just my admission letter with doc attached titled FOR “study permit purpose only”

To make it clear
I graduated in 2018 BSC
worked since 2014 in the same course at the highest stage. Laboratory Chemist.
Now I'm studying for a high school diploma not a post graduate diploma
I'm over qualified for a masters due to result and experience.
Read one of my GCMS notes again and you will understand that myself and this person has all in common
The VO saw no reason for me to be in this program because I have the result and experience
Now I am here for same program
This is my own experience.
There are experiences worse than this here, where people switch career completely

Well I only made a point its not important anyone takes it and I will only contribute to questions I have real-time experience with.
I won't engage in further explanation on this.

The SOP you posted in May last year, is that the one that got your approval please?

Not totally correct. The presentation on his SOP will determine if the VO agrees or not. I have a BSC and worked for 7 years and here I am in a diploma programme

Are you in a post-graduate or post-secondary diploma?

Her old LOA will not be valid anymore so she cannot send a reconsideration, she needs to apply again based on the new programme, and also draw a strong SOP to explain why she needs that course despite her present career, qualifications etc.
Thanks for your comment. I do appreciate it

Writing a Reconsideration letter and include a jurisdiction why she needs the program will contradicts "inconsistent" to what is already submitted in the application, so that won't work even program is invalid...

From GCMS : the applicant demonstrates through their submitted documentation that they possess an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in their respective field

With Bsc and work experience application for a diploma program or previous will be refused next Visa officer will refer to previous refusal..
The applicant needs to apply for Msc..
Thank you for your comment boss man. I appreciate

You wrote a bad SOP that's all I see here. You have to convince the VO why you feel you will study for a degree lower than your current one. Work on the SOP and you are good.

I want to agree with you that the SOP is bad. What's your comment on technicalities involve with her admission now please? The school approved her request to defer but they informed her that the certificate program (one year) has been discontinued and they only offer it in diploma now (2 years). She accepted the offer and waited for her visa decision which was eventually not approved.
Do you think it's best we write a reconsideration letter and include a justification for why she needed the program or she should submit another visa application with the diploma offer?
Thank you

Good evening people. Please I need advice on how best to approach this situation. Attached is the note for my friend.
She has deferred her admission in December from January when there was no response on her visa decision. The school approved her request to defer but they informed her that the certificate program (one year) has been discontinued and they only offer it in diploma now (2 years). She accepted the offer and waited for her visa decision which was eventually not approved.
With this GCMS note, I want to ask if it's best we write a reconsideration letter and include a justification for why she needed the program or she should submit another visa application with the diploma offer or possibly apply to seek MSc admission in another school. I would appreciate your opinion on this matter, please.

Please house anybody with information about UF. My wife was given Msc admission with partial scholarship of $1500 dollars per semester for 3semester for fall 2024. Can we go together and our kid and if possible how is the expenses? From what I see in the site tuition is about $13000 and other expenses accrue to about $30000 are we to pay all or some will be in block account? and the Visa processing how is it?
Please it is urgent
Unrelated but I did appreciate expert opinions on this please.
What can influence the decision for someone to apply for visa with his/her family (partner and kid)? Is it when you have funding? Enough personal/family fund? What will be the home tie in this situation please?

False. You can get admission to a course that is in line with your work experience. It doesn't affect your visa. Abeg ignore that person.
Yeah I got admission with it last year. I’m worried about the VO and all. Thanks for your comment.

Biko who are you doing interviews with?

Think about it yourself ... doesn't the admission you are seeking relate to your current work? It does
So why are you confused?

You haven't even gotten admission yet but you did mock interview. Why

Face getting admission and funding first .That's what's important.

To others that are applying...I notice a lot of people what to ' know the result of their exam FIRST before they even sit for lectures'
Thanks bro.
The course sure relate to my current work/experience. I’m currently a Senior Assistant Registrar (level 12) at a public tertiary institution
I’m just attending the mock interview to gain a little experience.

Hello people,
Please, I need help. I'm pretty confused right now. I attended a mock interview and the information I got is not encouraging at all.
So, I have my first degree in Business Administration and I have been working as a non-academic staff in a high institution for about seven years now.
I applied for Msc Higher Education Administration in about three schools, Student Affairs Administration in one school and Postsecondary school administration and student affairs in another school. I'm optimistic that I will get at least admission with partial funding in one these schools.
The issue is here is that, I was informed by the guys who anchored the mock interview that I should not go to the embassy with an admission that is not related to my first degree. He added that the course I applied for is not even useful in my home country. He advised that I should apply for MBA or something close my first degree. I really don't know what to do at this point please

This could mean that you did not make it apparent in your information that you intended to temporarily study in Canada.
Some ways to improve your reapplication:
1. Examine your application again: Examine the details you submitted in your original application with great care. Verify that every detail is true and in line with the objectives of the temporary research permission.
2. A legitimate letter of admission from a Canadian Designated Learning Institution (DLI) should be included. This should include a clear description of your study course's curriculum, duration, and start and finish dates.
3. Proof of financial support: Demonstrate that you have the money necessary to pay for your living expenses, tuition, and any other charges you may incur while visiting Canada.
4. Home ties: Showing that you have close links to your home country can help your application stand out. Proof of family, property, or work may be included in this. This might support your claim to the immigration officer that you plan to finish your education and then return home.
Okay boss. Thank. I will share this with her

I understand that you're seeking an explanation for the reason your study permit application was refused. The refusal letter stated that "The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay based on the details you provided in your application".

To address this concern in your reapplication, it's important to clearly demonstrate that your intention is to study in Canada temporarily and that you have a solid plan for your studies. You can do this by providing additional supporting documents such as an acceptance letter from the educational institution, a detailed study plan, and any relevant information about your future career goals.

It's also crucial to ensure that all the information you provide in your application is accurate, consistent, and aligns with the purpose of a temporary stay. If there were any discrepancies or missing information in your previous application, make sure to address those in your new application and provide a clear explanation in your Letter of Explanation (LOE).

More importantly, showcasing your previous education or current work experience in your application is crucial to solidify your purpose of visit, especially when applying for a study permit. By demonstrating how your course of study aligns with your educational background or professional experience, you can provide a strong rationale for your temporary stay in Canada.

When preparing your application, make sure to highlight the relevance of your previous education or work experience to the program you wish to pursue in Canada. Show how your past academic or professional achievements have equipped you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in your chosen field of study.

Attaching supporting documents such as academic transcripts, diplomas, or employment certificates can further enhance your application. These documents serve as tangible evidence of your qualifications and demonstrate your commitment to furthering your education in Canada.

I hope this helps, Best of luck with your study permit reapplication! 🍀✨.

It will end in praise

Thank you for your response, boss. I apologize for the delayed in acknowledging your comment. I have not been online recently.

The application was on behalf of a friend, not for myself. Despite not having seen her SOP, she submitted all other required documents. These include a study leave with pay, curriculum vitae (CV), and letters of introduction and recommendation. She, being an HR officer, secured admission for a Human Resources course in Canada so I don’t understand what the VO is saying. She is waiting for Notes sha
