Obasekiโ€™s House of Assembly Victory, is driving APC crazy --Efe Igbinosa

Over the last few hours, the lameduck propaganda arm of the APC has churned out several spurious news just to discredit Governor Obasekiโ€™s HOA victory. Despite what the naysayers and the supposed political Maradona have said and done, PDP, under the leadership of Governor Obaseki is already firmly poised to take the majority seats in the house, Come May 2023.

It is this sterling record of the governor that APC are determined to darken at all cost. It is driving them crazy because it has finally put to bed the demystification of their tin god, Oshiomhole, who thought he was still popular, but never knew Edo people took him for a clown and joked with him in market places.

No matter the number of propaganda the tired and clueless APC media arm throws at us in the coming days, we would continue to use them as a ladder. Our ascendancy will never be matched by this bitter little devils.

Obaseki is on the Rise again!!!

quote author=UdabaPrince100 post=121792650]Obaseki assures implementation of anti-grazing law, more roads to connect Orhionmwon communities

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said the state government will go the whole length in the implementation of the anti-grazing law to checkmate farmer-herderโ€™s crisis in Orhionmwon communities and ensure the safety and security of the people and other residents of the State.

Obaseki who visited the palace of the Enogie of Ugo-Niyekeorhionmwon in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the State, said his government will accelerate infrastructural development in the area, ensuring more roads to connect more communities in Orhionmwon.

The governor said, โ€œI want to thank all of you for keeping the peace. I know how much Orhionmwon people have suffered these past years but as I told you in 2020 when I came here to campaign, itโ€™s my duty as governor of Edo State to connect Orhionmwon with other parts of Edo State.

โ€œUgo-Niyekeorhionmwon is a farming community and your number one trade is agriculture. As a governor, my first priority is to make sure that I make it possible for you to farm and get your products and crops to the market for sale.

โ€œSo, anything that will stop you from farming or carrying your goods to the market, I will make sure that I reverse it. The last time I was here in this palace was because of a sad incident when some people were killed by bandits and herdsmen.

โ€œI know that we had a security problem in Orhionmwon which affected farmers. We have been trying to ensure peace in the area since that time. There are still some problems but with the support of the vigilante and other strategies that we have put in place, we will make sure that we stop open grazing in Orhionmwon.โ€

Obaseki continued: โ€œThere is a law in Edo State today which prohibits and stops open grazing in Orhionmwon. Itโ€™s illegal for anybody to bring their cow and graze openly. If they must feed their cows, they must agree first with you and you give them an area to do it.โ€

He added, โ€œI appeal to you to maintain the peace. You made me governor and I can't do anything against you. No matter the issues and problems, I will make sure that we resolve it amicably. I want to appeal to you not to worry as I will not do anything that is not in the interest of my people of Ugo-Niyekeorhionmwon.โ€

Speaking on behalf of the Community, the liaison officer of Orhionmwon LGA, Newman Ugiagbe, thanked the governor for his visit, assuring that the people of will continue to work with the government to improve security and safety in the state.

Again, Edo Dangles Between Light And Darkness

By Jay Ikebuaso

The battle for the control of Edo State, especially its treasury, has been reignited.

This is coming barely three years since the battle of 2020 which saw Edo almost going beyond the rubicon, before the divine light, through the people's solidarity with Governor Godwin Obaseki, conquered the forces of darkness and prevented Edo from tipping over.

To the ordinary eye, the approaching March 18 election is simply to win seats in the Edo State House of Assembly, a prerequisite to a 4-year participation in ideal legislative duties aimed at further enhancing the living standard of Edo people.

Unfortunately, a deeper look has revealed a sinister motive for this year's contest; a ploy to hijack majority of the legislative seats and then oust Governor Obaseki via impeachment, a penultimate to handing the treasury of the state on to the itchy hands of an erstwhile governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole.

Going by recent utterances of Oshiomole, one can see a thirst to once again be in charge of the day to to day running of the state through a rubberstamp House of Assembly that will be wholly answerable to him as their godfather, rather than to the people. Someone succinctly termed it 'the Lagos template' which makes a serving governor a mere figurehead.

For an 'unpopular' oposition party to import the unholy 'Lagos template' and hoist it over a ruling party, numerous devilish shemes, not excluding lies, brazen massive vote buying and thuggery, will obviously come in play to armtwist the electorate and finally twist the will of the people, having shamefully realised that the people have long ago lost confidence in the APC.

It is therefore imperative that as a means to forestalling this impending 'takeover', Edo people should as they did back in 2020, speak with one voice, a voice of love for a dear state.

The good people of Edo State desirous of continuation of unsurpassed infrastructural and human capital development in a secure and serene environment free from intimidation and gaslighting, should seize this moment in time to mobilise themselves and rally round Governor Obaseki and his party, the PDP.

This is not a time for sentiments, but a time for action. It is a time to think Edo and protect what makes Edo tick.

Edo is swinging on a sling, dangling to and fro between the good on one side, and the poised predators gasping after her common treasury on the other side. Edo is dangling and is tilting, with the children of light and the children of darkness both jumping to take a firm grasp. May the children of light come out victorious this Saturday through PDP.

Conference Of Political Parties Hails Obasekiโ€™s Devt Strides, Endorses PDP Candidates For March 18 Polls

The Edo Stateโ€™s chapter of the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), an umbrella of political parties in Edo State, after careful consideration and review, has endorsed the candidates of the PDP in the Saturday, March 18 House of Assembly elections.

Our decision to endorse the PDP candidates is based on the remarkable achievements of Governor Godwin Obaseki in various sectors, including health, energy, agriculture, education, and infrastructure, among others.

The governor's programmes and projects across the state have continued to bring significant improvements to the lives of our people, hence the need to support him by voting for those that will only contribute to the governmentโ€™s drive for progress and development in our state, rather than those on a mission to cause crisis and chaos.

Our endorsement of the PDP candidates reflects our commitment to advancing the interests of our state and ensuring that our people are represented by capable and visionary leaders. We are confident that electing the PDP candidates into the House will ensure that the governor sustains ongoing projects and reforms to improve the livelihoods of the people and ensure economic prosperity for the state.

We urge all members of the CNPP and voters across the state to come out en masse on Saturday, March 18 2023 to vote for candidates of the PDP for quality representation at the Edo State House of Assembly.

The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has thrown its weight behind the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Saturday, March 18 House of Assembly elections, citing the unprecedented performance of the State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, across various sectors of the state, including health, infrastructure, education, agriculture, among others.

The umbrella body of political parties in the state expressed confidence that electing the PDP candidates into the House will ensure the governor sustains ongoing projects and reforms to improve the livelihoods of the people and ensure economic prosperity for the state.

According to the group, from the welfare of workers and security of lives and property, through education and healthcare, to infrastructure and industrialization, the governor has, in the last six years, performed exceedingly well and deserves the support of all Edo people to sustain these achievements.

The statement reads: โ€œThe Edo Stateโ€™s chapter of the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), an umbrella of political parties in Edo State, after careful consideration and review, has endorsed the candidates of the PDP in the upcoming House of Assembly elections.

UdabaPrince100:
Obaseki extends retirement age for teachers

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has extended the retirement age for teachers in Edo State to 65 years or 40 years of service, in furtherance of his commitment to boosting workers' welfare.

The Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq., who disclosed this in a statement, said the governorโ€™s approval reinforces his unwavering commitment to building a solid foundation for repositioning the education sector in the state.

According to him, โ€œMr. Governor has approved a new retirement age for teachers in Edo State. They will now retire when they clock 65 years of age/40 years of service, whichever is earlier.

โ€œThis is in demonstration of his commitment to ensuring that Edo teachers are the best motivated in Nigeria. It is important to remind Edo people that Edo teachers are the best-paid teachers and Edo workers are the best-paid workers in any public service in Nigeria.โ€

He noted that the development will ensure that teachers with decades of experience are retained in service to contribute their quota in providing quality education to Edo pupils.

โ€œThis is another big win for Edo workers. The governor has continued to show that he will always place the interest of Edo workers above all else. Today, this is another testimony to that fact,โ€ Okungbowa added.

Edo Assembly Poll: Natasha Osawaru seeks support of PDP members in Egor LGA

By The Nigerian Observer
March 14, 2023

The Peopleโ€™s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Egor constituency in the forthcoming Edo State House of Assembly election, Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, has called upon members of the party in Egor Local Government Area to come out en-masse to campaign and vote for her during the House of Assembly elections on Saturday, March 18, to end the years of marginalization of the LGA.

She made the call during a get-together organized by the Commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Andrew Emwanta Esq., for members of Ward 7 in Egor LGA, saying the PDP members should all be united under the big umbrella to ensure that the party rescues Egor.

โ€œEgor has been marginalized since the member elected to represent them refused to go to the House because he was influenced by money from a godfather,โ€ Osawaru said.

โ€œWe have suffered enough in Egor, and those contesting with me have nothing to lose if Egor remains backward in the scheme of things. But I have a name to protect. I believe that if I must contribute to change Nigeria, I must arrange my home first.

โ€œWe must not allow division to rob us of victory in the party. Let us come back home and work for the success of the PDP. If you work for the opposition party, you will be a stranger in that party and you will be shooting yourself. But if you vote for me, I will be a voice for everybody,โ€ she noted.

Hon. Emwanta, in his welcome address to the PDP gathering described as a family get-together, said it was necessary for members of the party, the women in particular, to rally round and campaign for Natasha Osawaru who will ensure every community in the local government has government presence.

โ€œWhen she is there as a lawmaker, the women will have a voice in government,โ€ Emwanta said.

โ€œWe must say no to godfatherism. We must say no to anything that will not unite us. We must say yes to โ€˜Akugbeโ€™. I therefore appeal to all of us to see ourselves as one and vote for Natasha who will not disappoint us because of her family name. She will adopt open door policy whereby all our women and everyone will have a sense of belonging,โ€ he added.

A former councilor in the local government area, Hon Agharese Idubor, pointed out that few weeks ago some members of the PDP were divided, but all that was now in the past

โ€œToday, there is no more division within the party and we are happy that they have all come together as one to vote a vibrant candidate from a renowned family, Natasha, for the House of Assembly,โ€ he said.

Other leaders of the party in the local government area, including the Director General, Health Insurance Commission, Dr. Rock Amegor, former members of the House of Assembly, women leaders, youths and leaders of the Yoruba Community, promised to deliver Natasha Osawaru as the next member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing Egor on Saturday.

Edo people wake up, letโ€™s defeat this common enemy against our unity, progress

As we countdown to Saturday, March 18 House of Assembly elections, it is important that Edo people recognize the common enemy that stands in the way of their unity and progress. The hydra-headed monster, who in his undying obsession with power has continued to set up illustrious Edo sons against themselves, repressed others and is sowing discord among the people in order to advance his own selfish political interests.

Mischievously tactical, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is the real enemy of Edo people. He picks up a fight to destroy a person over personal differences and his selfish political interests and whips up ethnic sentiments in defense of his unjust cause.

Do you remember?
*Oshiomhole vs Anthony Anenih*

*Oshiomhole vs Godwin Obaseki*

Edo people, the only way to move forward and make progress is to come together and work for our collective progress and development. It is time for us to set aside our differences and work towards a brighter future. By standing together and rejecting the forces of division, we can build a stronger, more united state that is capable of achieving great things.

We must unite to reject the divisive rhetoric of this common enemy and his efforts to undermine the unity and progress of our people and State.

It is time to wake up and listen to the voice of reason. We cannot continue to sit back and watch Oshiomhole destroy our beloved and illustrious sons and our State just because of personal differences and his selfish political interests.

This Saturday, it is essential to choose representatives who will prioritize the development and well-being of the people of Edo State and not those that will abscond on the vengeful and selfish directive of their godfather. The choice is in your hands, and it is your responsibility to choose wisely and strategically.

kelvinlion:
Ogbeide Ifaluyi-isibor

Can we agree that we got it wrong in 2016! Someone posed that question to me and for a second, I was hors de combat with arms akimbo.

What do you think about that question too!

Adams Oshiomole is a likeable individual, he's mastered the skill of warming up on people and endearing himself to folks through the superfluity of his craftiness that he perfected in the Labour unions. The man is cunningly smart and we must give him his due. Let's Congratulate him too on his election victory, I told friends that Adams can remain on that seat for the next 100 years and his kinsmen will likely have no qualms.

There's a battle for the soul of Edo State just now and we can see the gimmicks and scheming at play. That's not my worry though, my worry is that alot of us can see clearly that Adams Oshiomole is jumping down from his baobab tree where he has been relegated to and wants a rebound into the Godfatherism cloak he loves to wear.

I ask again, Did we get it wrong in 2016!

In 2016, he sought for our shinning stars in Edo State, he sort them into groups just to seek to make Merchandise of them, Adam's promised everyone of his unalloyed support to succeed him , he told all the aspirants the same things, took money from them, lied to them, made mockery of them and watched them fall over themselves in his deceit. These were highly distinguished gentlemen who had excelled by no small measure in their fields of endeavor.
We clearly saw him axe his loyal Deputy Governor Hon Pius Odubu because he knew he couldn't control Odubu, he axed General Charles Airhiavbere (rtd), he axed our Celebrated Engr Chris Ogiemwonyi, he axed these illustrious sons because he knew he couldn't control them if they became Governor. He wanted his stooge so he could become the godfather he always wanted to be. The same godfatherism he pretended to hate.

Then with powers from above, He axed Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu who actually won the 2016 Gubernatorial election. He knew if the Edo people took ownership of their Government, he would gradually be swept into oblivion.

Then Godwin Obaseki came on the scene and Adams would always want to usurp authority over the sitting Governor, he wanted State decisions taken in his own house, he wanted to determine who got what contract and when, he wanted to be worshipped by all and sundry. He wanted to be the god of Edo politics.

History reminds us that as Governor himself, he did all he could to dim the sparkling lights of all those who came before him, he will use extreme derogatories at the Esama of Benin, he'll use very harsh invectives at Lucky Igbinedion and call him unprintable names everywhere he went to, he'll make mockery of Chief Anthony Anenih, he'll blast Prof (Sen) Oserhiemen Osunbor, he wouldn't spare senior Edo sons even if they did nothing or said nothing, the goal was to verbally destroy them and kneel on their necks....the list of disparaging words he'll use at eminent Edo men is not in short supply. Oshio was a loose canon and for a moment, he enjoyed the support of a few but that was shortlived.

As Ex-governor, his desire was to make Godwin Obaseki superlatively subservient to him, he'll shade the Deputy Governor Hon Philip Shuaibu, downgrade him and want to relegate him to the dustbin simply because Philip Shuaibu wanted to have his own mind and subject his actions to the guidance of his conscience, Philip simply wanted Oshiomole to leave Godwin alone to serve his people and not serve him; the godfather. After Philip refused a kangaroo impeachment of Godwin, he turned into the devil and Oshiomole swore to destroy him. Prominent Etsako sons will plead with but the assuming godfatherism was too enmeshed in his guile to reason otherwise.

Oshiomole's modus operandi is to completely obliterate anyone who had a star and could shine, any luminous and celebrated Edo son was the target of Adams Oshiomole in and out of office. Like a child deprived of love in his growing years, Oshiomole wanted the light on only him and would annihilate any obstacle on his path. A path that only leads to self destruction.

How he humiliated the then APC Chairman Chief Odigie Oyegun is not lost in our memory, how he humiliated the Onojie of Uromi is fresh in our hearts, how he bastardized royalty across the State permeates our senses through the vicissitudes of time, we have kept our memories alive. Any Distinguished Edo son was his enemy except you buried your head in his coccyx, the man wanted to be untop of everything and everyone and when Godwin Obaseki will revolt obstinately against his oppression and disdain for others having the yeast to rise, Adams Oshiomole will result of all sorts of blackmail against Godwin and the people watched keenly.

But Godwin and indeed the generality of Edo People will have none of it.

Godwin and the people will then reduce Oshiomole to the matchbox of local politics by getting him out as National Chairman in an uncelebrated manner and Adams will respond by trying to instigate societies derelicts he had "made" to disturb the peace of the people and the sanity of the Government and the story that followed can be told by all.

Educated and accomplished men were dragged to hades by Adams but the mental hobos, the never do wells were empowered with the machinery of the State to become street lords and given kingly robes, terrorizing the people and making life hell for them. These goons became the untouchables, they decided who the police could arrest and what kind of weapons they decided to brandish as the collected revenue for the State. Noble men were reduced to rubbles and hooligans were made to feed fat on the state. They had become the Alpha Beta in Edo State and whatever they returned to the State as revenue was received without question.

Didn't these strange men close down streets to celebrate that they've become billionaires in Edo State. Billionaires on the sweat of helpless women in our markets, striving artisans, small businesses trying to eke a living all across the State. I mean, these guys were living the life, they did the dirty job for Adams and were made to ride on golden horses as a reward.

But give it to the Comrade as he was fondly called, he performed in his region of the State, he built infrastructure and he built men and so, it was not lost on them to stand up in his defense even in his weakness. They still do this this day.

However you fell/felt about Adams, he was/is a hero at home for cogent reasons.

While he was Governor, he became the don; the godfather and the ruler of everything in Edo State and for many years, the people were blinded by his sweet antics and he could do no wrong in their eyes until they saw who a truly was.

I felt displeased when my big brothers; very notable and astounding Edo sons fell for him again in 2020 even after Godwin Obaseki had jumped ship, Comrade Adams would promise everyone in the APC his support and swindle everyone again like he did in 2016. My dear brother will emerge APC candidate under controversial circumstances but the people withheld their grace and granted it to Godwin Obaseki again to complete his 8 year tenure. The song on the streets was "torgba"

Nobody ever beat Oshiomole to his game of foxiness but somehow, Godwin did.

Godwin didn't only beat him to the game but the Edo people gave their absolute imprimatur to Godwin and Adams has not forgiven the people for standing up to him and chasing him into his own shadows.

It is battle time again in 2023, he is rolling up his sleeves to get into the battle arena not for you or I, it has never been about us. Our friend is seeking a majestic rebound into the godfather stable he has always wanted to have in Edo State.

While I think we should not get injured in their war, I think we must protect the ultimate authority of the people vested on Godwin Obaseki just now as Governor. We must contain, sustain and retain the tenets of democracy where the people decide who will lead them. Godwin has impressed some and has not impressed some but we will have the people decide and not Adams Oshiomole.

We as a people have demystified godfatherism in Edo State, we have weakened the ability for twisted men to impose leaders on us, we have derobbed the political popes that want to anoint Governors or Senators or Congressmen for us, We have chased them to the baobab trees to rest with their kindred spirits, like the proverbial "abiku" who keeps coming and going these several seasons , we have exorcised the ghosts of division that they bring upon us when elections come and our tower of babel as a multi ethnic state has become our power of babel.

We the people will protect our sons and daughters from being enslaved ร new by Adams Oshiomole, we will rise up in Edo South, Edo Central and Edo North and resist the diabolical machinations of those who want to oppress us continually.

Power must remain with the people by all means.

Clem Agba has a right to be Governor just as Mike Onolemenmen has equal right, just as Ogbeide Ifaluyi-isibor has just as much right to be Governor, every Edo son or daughter enjoys equal rights to aspire for whatever office they please and No single person will decide for the people.

Our "abiku" is coming again, the grounds are wet with mourning, the pouring of libations have fingers pointed at him, "abiku" is calling for the second and the repeated time. The lions and tigers are gearing up to abiku's call again but in the coccyx of the baobab tree they will remain. Edo people will resist them.

There will be no more godfatherism in Edo State. Agberos will not become lords again.

We will not allow Adams Oshiomole a rebound into the Godfather he wants to be.

You may fault my use of words, you may fault my choice of words, you may even fault my bias but you cannot fault the truth I have written in this piece.

*NEVER AGAIN SHOULD LEGISLATIVE AFFLICTION ARISE IN EDO*

They slapped Our Mothers in Our Markets,

They Beat Up Innocent Edo People who became defenseless because the then Governor was a THUG,

They inflated taxes, increased levies with exorbitant rates with NO JUSTIFICATION,

AGBEROES became demigods to the point that One of them even had the effrontery to celebrate over ONE BILLION NAIRA, outside the illegal land sales he made and the property he bought for himself and his boys.

RING ROAD became their farmland until GOVERNOR GODWIN OBASEKI was sent by God Almighty to SAVE EDO PEOPLE from their oppression, suppression, intimidation and worst of all, GODFATHERISM.

And now, they are planning to capture Edo once again simply because their "AGBADO LORD OF THE RIGS" stole Our Mandate on the 25th of February, 2023 during the Presidential Polls, a situation which should not be allowed to repeat itself in Edo State only if we VOTE WISELY,

That is why we should all COME OUT EN MASSE TO VOTE PDP in the forthcoming Edo State House Assembly Elections slated to hold on Saturday March 18th, 2023 in order to STOP THEIR EVIL PLANS of taking Edo Ten Steps backwards.

By so doing, ALL CONSTITUENCIES would have EFFECTIVE LEGISLATORS to represent their people unlike in 2019 when some RENEGADES, blatantly abandoned their constituencies and refused to be Sworn in by His Excellency Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki who graciously waited for them to fulfil their Constitutional Requirements of being Sworn in with the period of 90 days right from the day they were voted into power by their Constituents but they chose to go on a wild goose chase simply because of their GREEDY AND SELF CENTRED STYLE OF POLITICS BUT EDO PEOPLE WILL NOT ALLOW LEGISLATIVE AFFLICTION TO ARISE FOR A SECOND TIME this time around because ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Kenedos:
What has Governor Godwin Obaseki done in Edo they ask?

We start training of 10,000 Civil and Public Servants tomorrow in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Service, Edo State.

As an Ugoneki woman who came from the private sector to join Government, one of the things that sold this role for me was the Governorโ€™s focus on education.

Look!

Poverty is weaponised in Nigeria. When politicians keep you in the dark, they can buy your vote with only 5,000 Naira less than 10 USD every 4 years.

However, when you receive an education, you are forever free from mental slavery.

This week we will start off with an Introduction to Project Management Course, which will be brought to us by the Project Management Institute, Nigeria Chapter. Our workers are excited and so am I.

At a time when knowledgeable people can japa legally, we are upskilling and retooling our workforce. Think about the multiplier effects of this singular act.

Iโ€™m sure you understand why this is a Governor Obaseki Stan account! I admire those in the arena not critics who cannot dare where others do.

I admire visionary leaders!

May Edo always win, Ise.

Vote PDP for sustained progress.

Obasekiโ€™s Infrastructural Legacies Will Ensure Victory For PDP In Assembly Election โ€“ Group

By Shojobi Abisola On Mar 12, 2023

A body, known as Edo Legacy Group, (ELG) has said that Governor Godwin Obasekiโ€™s infrastructural development across the state would contribute to the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in Saturdays house of assembly election.

Such achievements, the group said, cannot be sacrificed just to swell the political egos of those who are desperate to win election to the detriment of the state development.

They called on the people to put behind them the outcome of the Presidential elections in the state and focus on the coming election which it said directly affects the people.

The group also frowned at the campaign of calumny and deceit allegedly being spear headed by a former governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole.

The groupโ€™s global president Samson Imade and Secretary, Francis Igbineweka and eight others in a statement, said Edo people would continue to support Obaseki to succeed.

Part of the statement reads โ€œThe developmental stride of the governor in changing the face of governance has resulted in the physical development in the state. Today, as Edo citizens we are proud of the state of the new secretariat built for civil servants. We make bold to say no state of the federation can boast of a decent working environment like the one in Edo built by Obaseki.

โ€Today, people of the state are enjoying over 18 hours Ossiomo power supply attracted by the Obaseki administration thereby jumpstarting economic development. Despite campaigns by the APC to down play the numerous achievements of the government and sadly their only reasons is Obaseki blockage of non state actors who had plundered the state resources for personal aggradizement.

โ€We are therefore calling on Edo indigenes to come out on Saturday to vote PDP candidates so that Obaseki can sustain and continue to give Edo people the benefit of democracy as demonstrated in the last seven years.

Progress is the right way to Go!

CodedVoices:
March 12, 2023

Letโ€™s keep progress in power!

At the start of this campaign we said We would spend a lot of time listening. Thatโ€™s what weโ€™ve done over the last six years, and thatโ€™s what We have done over the last eight weeks as well.

Listening to vested interests.

Listening to highly selective focus groups

Listening to ordinary people.

Listening to their disillusionment with politicians.

They want politicians to stand up and address the issues that matter to them. They want commitments that are clear.

And there are just a few days left to determine the direction Edo takes.

A few days to turn this into a campaign that sets Edo on the right course for the years ahead.

A few days to turn this into a campaign that focuses on the long term.

A few days to turn this into a campaign about the issues that matter to people.

I expected a barrage of lies and distortions from the opposition party High Command, the like of which we have never seen before. It has come to pass!

They are intimidated by the many โ€œ good stories we have to tellโ€โ€ฆ and they are frightened that the distance between them and the levers of governance is widening. When they are frightened get negative, and they get nasty.

Instead of engaging in honest debate, they will put up thousands of posters, jingles and articles distorting the truth.

Instead of confronting voters face to face, they will ring people up, whispering lies about our policies down the phone, WhatsApp groups and on Facebook. Instead of talking about their record, they will fight the most negative, most nasty campaign imaginable.

Well, we will not be cowed. The best antidote to negative APC campaigning is to fight positively on our programme for Edo.

To make the campaign in this last few days a campaign the Edo people can be proud of.

And our Party and government has a duty to make that happen.

Our investment in Education has given our children the best possible education. Guaranteeing the best possible start in life for every child.

Our government has signed over 20000 certificates of occupancy, Cof O, in the last six years surpassing the 15000 that had ever been signed in Edo State by all its past Governors put together.

Our government does not owe pensions or salaries to its workers. These commitments are met and paid on or before the 27th of every month.

Our government has constructed and rehabilitated over 1000km of road in the last six years. Countless numbers of inner city roads across the three senatorial districts and rural communities.

Our government is lighting up Edo with the most comprehensive and sustainable street light project every embarked upon by any state government in Nigeria. Our Ossiomo power partners provides the power with which these lights as well as numerous businesses and factories are powered. In Edo today, we can boast of 24hours of interrupted power. Our secretariat and government offices also enjoy this service.

Haven conquered the power deficit that plagues Nigeria, our state now commands a strong presence of business and commerce as the Benin Airport is now among busiest airport in Nigeria while our hotels growing exponentially are experiencing close to 80% occupancy rates.

This is not by coincidence but by planning, strategy and collaboration with all arms of government.

As we go to the polls on Saturday March 18, 2023, Edo people have a choice to vote all PDP candidates into the Edo State House of Assembly for sustainable development or expose our state to a party whose only agenda is to have its hand on the levers of government for self interest. They have no plans, no legislative agenda but embroiled in anger and vendetta.

Over the last six years and especially in the last few weeks, APC have failed to prove that they are worthy of our trust.

Letโ€™s keep progress in power!

This is a laudable and commendable one from Governor Obaseki. I know this for a fact cause I was at the institution.

Greatstan10:
UNIVERSITY OF BENIN STUDENTS AND STAFF HAVE BENEFITED MORE FROM OBASEKI THAN OSHIOMHOLE
...An Objective Analysis......

.1)The Ekosodin Road. Oshiomhole refused to construct that road after several years of appeal, that caused much pain, Insecurity, and flood to staff and students but thanks to Governor OBASEKI who has not only constructed the road but extended his construction of roads to adjoining streets around the community.
.2) Gov Obaseki has ensured the improvement of Security to Ekosodin, BDPA,Osasogie and it's environs through the "Edo State Security Network"; Before now Students and Uniben Staffs Know how the community use to be in terms of insecurity.
.3) Construction of the over head bridge to ensure students do not lose their lives through avoidable road accidents which was a usual occurrence while crossing the express road but the construction of road barricades and the bridge by the Gov Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki's administration has reduce it to zero
.4)The 19th,15th and 16th Streets are currently under construction and near completion. Thanks to Gov Godwin Obaseki
5) The Edo job programs is another area in which student are trained to learn any skill of their choice while in school and at their comfort. Now these graduates are given job opportunities without nepotism, favoritism or connections

.5) Very recently Street Light adore the Benin-Lagos(Uselu/Ugbowo) Express Road.

All Thanks to Our Amiable and Workaholic Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki.

Edo govt debunks illegal disengagement of staff of College of Education, Igueben

The Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media Projects, Crusoe Osagie, has described as fake, letters of termination of the appointment handed to some employees of the College of Education in Igueben.

In a statement, Osagie urged the general public to disregard the notice, as it is null and void.

He said, โ€œThe attention of the Edo State Government has been drawn to the illegal termination of the appointment of employees of the College of Education in Igueben.

โ€œThe general public and anyone who may have received such letters should kindly disregard it. The Edo State Government is completely unaware and distances itself from such notice.โ€

Osagie further charged, โ€œAll staff of the institution are by this notice advised to carry on with their lawful duties as this is the handiwork of mischief makers who are trying to stir crisis in the state ahead of the Saturday, March 18 House of Assembly elections.โ€

EXPOSED: Another plot by Oshiomhole, Dan Orbih to shortchange Esan people

*By Aigbokhavbo Osifo*

*Esan Oyeee!!!*

It is a well-established fact that *Comrade Adam Oshiomhole* harbours a deep-seated hatred for the Esan nation which extends beyond politics.

He has at every opportunity displayed his intense dislike and resentment for our people, which is evident in the eight-year marginalization and humiliation that the Esan people suffered under his leadership between 2008 and 2016.

Now *Comrade Oshiomhole* is on a course to send us and our people to political oblivion.

Letโ€™s take a look at this plan below by *Oshiomhole* and his co-travelers and see the disregard for Esan people

1. First, *Oshiomhole* resigns from Senate to become Chief of Staff to the soon-to-be President, *Bola Ahmed Tinubu*

2. Then, *Dan Orbih* decamps from PDP, runs for Senate under the APC and takes over *Oshiomholeโ€™s* seat in the Senate

3. Finally, the masterstroke, *Clem Agba* runs for Governor in 2024 with *Ogbeide Ihama* as Deputy Governor

My people, where is the Esan nation in this very โ€˜brilliantโ€™ arrangement by *Oshiomhole* and his cohorts?

Esan people, *Oshiomhole* and *Dan Orbih* are the enemies.

Letโ€™s not forget our Esan Agenda for 2024. We stand a better chance with the PDP.

Letโ€™s all come out on Saturday, March 18, 2023, to vote for the candidates of the PDP in the Edo State House of Assembly.
