@ Naijagurl I am finding it hard to understand this. Why would a 5'8", 148lbs girl who doesn't look bad in appearance not attract men? What is it about you, really? Overweight/borderline obese girls with ugly appearance who are uneducated even attract men. There's something wrong somewhere. there's no smoke without fire. You get rejected even on facebook? this is ridiculous! You say you live in NYC and you have facebook account? Hmmm if you are willing to take this beyond nairaland we can fix and hook you up. real talk! I still can't believe this. You need to start going out more with friends and even going out alone to bars and lounges. go to church and be involved with church activities. go to Nigeria events. travel to other cities where there are lots of Nigerians and attend their events. we have a lot of Nigerian men especially Igbo men all over USA so u will def meet one that will fancy and approach you. |

lol yall ladies dont be surprised if the men screaming submission are the ones that sit on couch all day watching telly or playing video games while their wives work. one can't seem but wonder why the murder of Nigerian women by their husbands has been on the rise? it's the handiwork of these pathetic, insecure men. 1 Like 1 Share |

@ poster tell us why u mad, son? why does it bother u what women choose to do with their names? this is the 21st century, a woman has the right to bear whatever name she so pleases. deal with it or end ur pitiful life. u can't have ur way on this cos some women will continue to bear their fathers name along side their husbands name. so, like i said accept it or kpeme. 1 Like 1 Share |

stillwater: lool for real! i went partying one time with my boyfriend and his friends (his female friends included) so this one chic that is sorta one of his close friends saw me dancing with my boy and decided to join in i was dancing in front of my boy while the chic joined from behind him and was dancing with us. |
Romance / Re: When Your Boyfriend's Best Friend Is Female? by IgboGirl(f): 4:57pm On Nov 09, 2009 |
I am in a sorta similar situation but I don't think she's his bestfriend but they are pretty close. i could care less whether she has feelings for him or whether he knows all i care about is letting the girl know that i got his heart, his body and his everything. she got no chance with him cos i got it better than her. i know for sure tho that the girl he used to talk to in the past still has feelings for him and he knows that, i have always wanted to see her but homegirl doesn't want to see me. get this tho, this girl used to front for him back in the day, she clearly told him she doesn't want a r/ship but now tell me why she's wishing she was with him? my boy told me that i was the only girl who gave him a chance to show what a good man he is, i've got him to show that and now all them other chics wanna have a bite lol |
Family / Re: How Do I Go About Divorce? by IgboGirl(f): 6:23pm On Nov 03, 2009 |
@posakosa are you ok? why u keep insisting the marriage is sham even after u were told the marriage was registered in Nigeria? did Nigeria marriage registry write sham across the marriage document? US govt takes bigamy very serious, u may think u r helping lostgirl to move on but u are only preparing a way for her to get nabbed by US authorities. @lostgirl pay no attention to that posakosa. as long as u r still married to the Nigerian man u can not marry anyone in US unless u legally file for divorce. the man may have married u for green card purposes but the marriage was still legally registered and u need to legally divorce him first before u can marry another man. you really do not want to take chances on this, moving on and re-marrying without divorce from previous marriage is taking chances and u may not like the outcome so, your best option is file for divorce. it's funny how u keep agreeing with posakosa's take on this when every other poster is telling u otherwise. anyway, your life your choice, do what u gotta do and be prepared for any consequences. |

All of you that are claiming to be die hard Nigerians and insulting those who have denied Nigeria, please do enlighten us on what you are most proud of about Nigeria? I have never denied Nigeria, haven't been in a position to and I doubt I can considering I bear a Nigerian name and I love my name so no chance of me ever changing it to a foreign name but I must tell you though that I am not proud of Nigeria. |

Enough with the same ol lame excuse about Nigeria being only 49 yrs old. How many yrs old did it take China to have what they have today? 10 freaking yrs! Ok, so what if Nigeria is "only" 49 yrs old, what can we show for it? What have we accomplished? How does the world around us view us for this past 49yrs? We were better when we were just a yr old than this 49yrs. They say a fool at 40 is a fool forever. Your leaders have failed you and ruined Nigeria so stop using "only 49yrs" as an excuse cos if our leaders were trustworthy we wud have achieved a lot in our 49yrs of existence. We had the potential to be a great country but it's all a dream now. Janeesa: |
Education / Re: Did You Get Admission This Year? by IgboGirl(f): 6:06pm On Oct 19, 2009 |
What can one do with English and Literature in Nigeria? Even one can't do much with that major abroad talkless of in Nigeria. Same goes to Philosophy. I hope these are pre-majors but then again Nigeria doesn't do a 4 year pre-major. Anyway, to each his own. Chai I see JAMB is still screwing up students, I wonder why they give JAMB this so much power. JAMB should be a successful entrance to University not the hindrance. Anyway, good luck to some of you still waiting for your admission and congrats to those who already got admission. |

Janeesa: You are a classic case of a MAD Nigerian! Don't get mad and result to insulting others when they are saying the truth about Nigeria. It took China 10 yrs to be where they are today. You say we r 49yrs? That's correct but what can we show for those 49yrs? I know a lot abt American health care to know that Nigerians have a long shot of getting that kind of medical care and I'm not even suggesting we shd have it good like Americans but that we shd at least have it fair. Why do your leaders fly their sick families abroad to get medical care? Stop getting emotional and accept the truth about Nigeria. Insulting us won't help your cause. |

Nna biko tell that to Meldrick. He was frowning at that and even looking down on it when i mentioned doing cab job or doing dishes in America is better than doing same in Nigeria cos it opens up doors of opportunities. Your dad is a classic example, more grease to his elbow. platinumnk: |

@ medrick you are one of those who r living good in naija and believes others r living same as u. in case u dont kno d rich is getting richer and poor getting poorer in naija. and for your info my name is Igbogirl not Nigeriangirl. I'll claim Igbo b4 i will ever claim Nigeria cos there's nothing to be proud of abt nigeria. and yes u read me right, washing dishes in America can open so many doors for u, u can save up money, go to sch, or even get promoted and no one will ever look down on u. but do same in naija and see if ppl wont laugh at u. believe it or not America has more opportunity than Nigeria and stop being in denial cos u happen to hav a good job. hav u wondered how ppl in naija without your job or money r living? they r obviously not living as good as u, they r suffering and the govt isnt doing anything abt it, in fact the govt doesnt care. i am in America to stay, i can never be kicked out cos i wasnt here illegally. so your prayer will not come to pass. admit it Nigeria is a big shame! at 49 still hav nothing to show for it. we hav our own natural resources yet we dont see the use of the money, till today electricity is not reliable, health care is a joke, ppl die frequently from diseases they shdnt die from why? cos there's no good medical care, no medical equipments, no nothing. what exactly are u proud of abt Nigeria? a country and leaders that dont care abt their citizens. old ppl here are catered for, they have social security benefits and medicare. America's health care may not be the best right now but we are getting there wit d help of president Obama. can u say ur grandparents back home in village are getting good medical care? does the Nigerian govt even kno abt ur grandparents? mentally challenged ppl here are taking good care of, the govt takes care of them and pay the care givers. can u say that abt mentally chalenged in Nigeria? we hav crazy ppl everywhere on the streets of Nigeria and in market places with no one to account for them. wat exactly has Nigeria done for her citizens? even students are not catered for. having debts or credits on cars, houses etc is all abt building your credit. America makes a big deal abt credit, one without credit in America is considered a ghost. America loves ppl with good credit score. so, my dear, there's nothing wrong with having credits or paying car notes, student loans or mortgages on houses. Miss EZ: |

let me cut u off on that building houses bak home. a house that shd take few yrs to build takes forever to finish why? cos our relatives share the money into halves, use one half for the house and the other half for their own agenda. i know bunch of ppl here in America whose relatives hav ripped off all in the name of helping to build their houses. mehn dang u folks bak home are wicked. why not use the money to build the house for us first b4 using it for ur own gain? and the annoying part is that they request to move into the house once it's finally finished and even request to drive ur car u shipped home to use when u visit wit ur family. they drive this car, ruin it and still expect u to send money to fix it snokky: |

brauneyes: you dont have to enroll for them, they shd enroll themselves and fill it out themselves. that's another annoying thing, folks bak home always want u to do everything for them, fill out visa lottery for them, fill out sch applications for them etc. i mean seriously? i know we have computers and internet in Nigeria so wat prevents them from going online and doing these things for themselves? At least if it's to pay for application fee then fine we can send them the money for that but asking us to do everything is just beyond pathetic. |

@ hackney i share your sentiments abt those politicians bak home. i really do wish we can execute all of them, throwing tomatoes isnt enuf. it was done to OBJ in London and i doubt anything came out of it. i think the politicians, the leaders and their whole families shd be wiped out so that when our own generation become leaders there won't be any chance of the children of the politicians/leaders becoming leaders themselves. hackney: |

@ Medrick All these you are talking are all bullsh1t. Why would they come back to Nigeria? And do what? A janitor or cab driver in America will do much better than someone in Nigeria doing same job. Nigeria is a forsaken and corrupt country, those who make it are people in high positions in their jobs or those in oil companies. There are many opportunities in America for students than there is in Nigeria. A student can borrow loan and get a good education in America but that's not the case in Nigeria. However, that does not mean life is that easy here but it's just that you achieve your goals and dreams when u put your mind to it cos the sky is your limit here. So, u folks in Nigeria need to stop assuming that money grows on trees. America is better than Nigeria but still we work really hard here to make ends meet and having ppl back home harrassing us very early in the morning for money is unwelcome and annoying. Don't tell us that crap abt coming back if we find it difficult here cos we will rather wash dishes here than wash dishes in Nigeria cos doin it here will open doors of opportunity for us than doin it in Nigeria. the funny thing is that ppl bak home don't ask for small money, it's always in thousands of dollars. and don't be fooled not only relatives bak home ask for money, ppl uve neva heard of b4 that aint related ask of money as well. frustration is already kiling most students in Nigeria. strike upon strike. it takes 10yrs for someone to finish a 4yr course in Nigeria all b/c of stupid strikes. here in America, it will take u 3yrs or even 2yrs to finish some 4yrs majors. But why the cry about money growing on trees. If you are not finding it easy abroad, why don't you come home? No body forced you to go abroad. No one will ask you for money except your relatives and close friends that impacted in you when you were in Nigeria. It is time to extend a hand of fellowship and you go about telling the whole world how your own relatives ask you for assistance. |
