Foreign Affairs / Re: Boris Johnson Speaks On Soleimani: 'We Will Not Lament The Death Of A Terrorist' by iguita: 4:52pm On Jan 06, 2020 |
I think Russia will support Iran. My fear also is that the Iranians are naturally terroristic (please pardon my generalization) and are willing to die for a cause they believe in. One of their generals has called for the head of Trump for a $80m bounty. This alone is an opportunity for America to strike. In my opinion, WWW3 is real and I dey fear. Shibaraba: |
Travel / Re: This Is The Major Reason Why Pilots Dump Fuel Before Landing. (PHOTOS) by iguita: 11:31am On Jan 03, 2020 |
Almost everything the OP said wrong. Your explanation about the clouds behind the plane is correct. If you go to Europe where the air is cleaner and less dense, you will see more of the contrails. Now to the subject matter, aircraft's dump fuel because of emergency. If a plane is going to have an emergency landing that may result to a fire, like the landing gear are not activating, then fuel is dumped so that the chances/ scale of fire outbreak is reduced. Chei. Travel / Re: Why Do We Have To Raise Airplane Window Blinds Before Landing? by iguita: 6:12pm On Jan 01, 2020 |
Many people have put several reasons why window blinds are opened while a plane is landing or taking off. Our answers are close but not exact. Yes, this is done for emergency reasons. The reason it is done is to balance the light outside the plane and inside the plane so that if there need for emergency landing, passengers are accustomed to the light outside the plane and they can take action immediately. If you notice, the main lights in the plane are switched off too during landing and take off. Imagine if it's dark in the plane because the lights are off and blinds are down and there is an emergency landing on a bright afternoon, you Will be dazed for a few seconds while trying to exit the aircraft. This is not good for emergency. Also imagine that the interior of the plane is bright and you have an emergency landing on a dark night, it will take a few seconds to get accustomed to the darkness outside. That's why the blinds are opened and the lights in the aircraft are put off. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Politics / Re: Nigeria May Lose Niger Republic’s $665m Yearly Energy Cash by iguita: 12:48pm On Dec 24, 2019 |
A lot of us discuss things we do not understand. We better give Niger power for free and block their building a dam to dam river Niger. Damming river Niger will reduce the flow of water to our kanji dam, meaning lesser water to drive our turbines. This may mean supposed 4000 MW we are generating will reduce to about 2000 MW. Remember that Eko Atlantic alone is using 1000MW, so forget all the big English and think of how this will affect you personally. Now how it will affect the Nigerian economy. If the dam in Niger is built, then the water in River Niger will reduce. Think of the climate change effects, less water means less farming on the river's corridor, meaning lesser income for our farmers. Remember everyone who works in Nigeria has at least 5 dependants, so if you do not pity the farmer, what of his five dependents? Same for farmers. Think of the effect on reduced rainfall. If we have any sense, we better supply them free / subsidized electricity and block the building of that dam. Unfortunately, we are late to the party. For reference, please read about the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and the war Egypt is waging on Ethiopia so they do no build the dam. |

My condolences bro. Nothing can stop this pain. We can only pray that it is alleviated. I also hope that we can hold our government (intentionally avoided using leaders) accountable. Someone somewhere always absconds from their duties, or embezzles funds, killing poor innocent people daily. This happens in our hospitals, roads, police and almost everywhere. We can't leave this to God, we must do something |

They are not bodyguards, they are Protocol officers, similar to ushers. Ushers attend to the congregation, protocol attend to ministers and guests invited by the church. I am a protocol officer in my church, I am a leap, can't vanguard myself and I am not in security department. Security department does not guard anybody. They control flow of Cars and ensure the carpack is safe. We just assume wrongly on top wetin we no know. Politics / Re: Nnamdi Kanu On Allen Onyema Air Peace: "I'll Meet People That Matter Most In USA by iguita: 5:04pm On Nov 26, 2019 |
Allen does not have money in the US. He is accused of something that is normal in Nigerian business circles, having a third company to do business on his behalf for his main company. Most Nigerian businesses do it. I have a senior friend who is MD of an IT firm. Their cleaning contract company belongs to his wife. The auto mechanic company that repairs and services all their company cars (about 200 cars) belongs to him. For those in business, corporate governance is very important. I hope he pulls through this NaijaRoyalty: |
Crime / Re: New Ways of Scammers and How I Was Almost Duped In Ikorodu Today by iguita: 10:13am On Oct 12, 2019 |
I have had this experience before. I used to work as Technical Assistant to a Vice President of Corn. That week, I had just returned from COREN's annual conference where I served as rapporteur. About 2 days after I returned to Lagos, call came in. He said he was blah blah blah from Airtel, and was asking how the COREN conference went, that he wanted to see me again. He painted the picture that we met during the conference. He asked 'Oga nko'?. Knew already. So he said he wanted to do a deal and asked if I was willing to do the deal. Of course I am. He said there is an Airtel installation that they needed some special batteries. He said only one person had the batteries in the whole of Africa and the person lives around Ayobo. Believing that I am a butty, not knowing that it is all packaging. I know the area he was talking about, my mum owns a house there, I lived there for about 2 years and when I live somewhere, I make it a point of duty to know all the nooks and crannies. He said I should call the supplier, confirm the price and put margin on it for the both of us. I am talking of profits of 10s of millions of dollars..... All within an hour. Well, he said an Alhaji was flying into Naija with some mad cash in dollars, that I should call the Alhaji and confirm. I called Alhaji and Alhaji asked if I really had the batteries, that he is willing to pay any amount. Note that Alhaji was bringing in millions of dollars in cash and was airborne as at when I was speaking with him on his mobile phone. Please forget Nigeria's anti money laundering law. Lol. Also forget that you can't / shouldn't receive phone calls in the air. Well, I called supplier and he said I should bring some money to pick sample. About 500k. So I was supposed to meet the supplier, pay for the sample then take it to Alhaji at the airport who will then hand over millions of dollars to me. When Alhaji called me that he has landed, with the millions of dollars to be handed over to me, I barred my incoming calls so all three idiots can't reach me and I started calling all of them asking for where they were. It took a while for them to realize I was playing with them, them begin curse me. Well, that was how I missed been a billionaire in my early twenties. I should have been richer than Dangote, OteDollar, Whizkid and Davido all put together. Bozzyironlady: |

You did not mention that he is an illiterate, struggled from the bottom and now at the top. No one can claim to have paid tithe to him.
