Olargee: I actually did submit my intl passport exactly 2 weeks prior to my interview. This is what I'll advise you do too. If you have submited, they know there is no way you will have another passport to show as a means of identification. Hence, there is a provision. This is why you must print out the appointment email the embassy might have sent to you and present it at the entrance. Apparently, that is the only point such print-out appointment email will be used. On that email are necessary information needed to identify you. At the entrance, the security will request for it. Your name and that of other applicants scheduled for that date would have been submitted to these security. All they will do is cross-check to see if the name they have at the embassy and the one on your appointment email correspond. Sorry my reply came a little bit late. A lot is going on for me this time, as I will be defending my thesis next week. |

mavinc4u: I am always very careful about what and how I write. If you read what I wrote carefully, you should deduce you are still 'saying' what I 'said', but only a very little PART of it, as I TRIED to touch all possibilities. Like I said, some questions have earlier been treated. Once one does his assignments thoroughly by going through information ALREADY PROVIDED ON THIS THREAD and some other platforms, especially relevant official websites like I earlier explicitly stated, questions that have already been answered won't be asked over again. By that, one will MOSTLY, although preferably ONLY, ask questions that have not been asked and that will curb UNNECESSARY repetitions. In that case, FEWER QUESTIONS will be asked as I proclaimed in my last post. In SOME cases too, you will realise that in the process of reading this thread AND MORE, you MAY have NO QUESTION left to ask, as I also proclaimed in my former post where I wrote "you will ask fewer or NO questions from this thread...." (I wrote "in SOME cases too..." in coherence/agreement with my earlier submission that, "SOME of us never asked questions". I didn't write "ALL of us". So definitely, we expect people to ask questions, but NOT NECESSARILY questions already answered on this thread). HENCE, I NEVER AT ANY POINT IN TIME MENTIONED THAT NO QUESTIONS BE ASKED AT ALL What country are you? Also, you earlier stated Finland is not your destination, then, where is? Best wishes |

mavinc4u: I BELIEVE it should not take much time, since the decision on visa matters, although I'm not 100% sure, are made in Nigeria, unlike that of residence permit. I stand to be corrected... Like I said hitherto, you will get all those information via the link I sent earlier. You should familiarise yourself with the information on it, particularly those that directly relate to your application type. I have however attached the answer to your question to this (check number 8 on the first screenshot and everything on the second screenshot). It is also imperative to note that the 15 days, 30days, and on rare or exceptional cases, 60 days written are only the standards. It is very possible to get it sooner than 15 days. Someone here got a positive decision on her rp this year the same day she proved her identity at the embassy. I also got mine 6 days after my interview, although I was told it could take a month. You can also read other info to enhance your mastery of knowledge about the whole process. Trust me, when this is done, you will ask fewer or NO questions from this thread. Some of us never asked questions. The already provided information on this thread and information on official websites related to your matter, be it schools or immigration websites should suffice. I stand to be corrected though. Kind regards

mavinc4u: See, it's d first on the list.. It's 60euro or 19,000naira, depending on the currency and their bank account you would prefer to pay the fee into.

mavinc4u: Hello, I surmise you do not mean visa but residence permit (rp) application fee, as I want to believe your application is based on study ground. For any visit to Finland in which your length of stay will exceed 3 months, you'll apply for rp, not visa.. So, if I am right about what I suppose you mean, then, residence permit application fee is N95,500. You should check their official website for more FAQ and other relevant information, as that's where you'll get firsthand, most (current, valid and reliable) information. http://www.finlandnigeria.org/public/default.aspx?nodeid=48016&contentlan=2&culture=en-US . Should you perhaps refer to application type other than the one I feel you mean, then, the appropriate fee to whatever residence permit or visa application type you want to pay for will be found on that site, as well. I hope this helps. BR |

IHATESCHOOL: Rp has been granted.... As I did say earlier, all expecters will get positive decisions, by God's grace. Plus, I'm deeply sorry for every email I have not been able to reply. I've been preparing for my Msc thesis defense which holds in few days. I'll reply tonight, before I get back to working on my thesis. Thank you all. God bless us all. |

moralistic: Hello, There is no special, or say, separate scholarship application. There is an option to automatically apply for half or full scholarship alongside your MDP application. Such scholarship application is however always highly competitive, as every NON-EU/EEA will definitely want to get the tuition free thingy (even if some could ordinarily afford to pay the tuition fees, scholarship would be a plus to them and that's only rational), most especially for the fact that the scholarship application is too easy and straight forward, as all they need do is click on the scholarship option too, even if they may not eventually get it. Therefore, the top (say first 10%, 15% and so on, as the case may be) applicants are usually considered. It's 'mostly strictly' based on merits. It's actually very possible you apply for a full scholarship and get half or nothing but just the admission, or not even get admitted, not to talk of getting the "scho" in "scholarship". I'll just advise you apply for/to as many programmes and or unis, respectively, as you can, in order to increase your chances. That being said, your application(s) should be well compiled/packaged and unique, as that can make you stand out and will definitely make a great contribution to being successful in your application(s), as very competitive as it may seem. I hope this helps. BR |

shayhune: Couldn't agree more, tbh. I believe she doesn't even necessarily need a sponsor who earns much salary sef, since the cash she needs is not that much. IMO, she only needs to put this little cash together and convincingly prove the source(s). I read about a guy on here who didn't even show any docs from sponsor but his explanation was logical and coherent. Different people (family members who bear the same surname with him) transferred the cash to his account in bits, so it doesn't become much burden to any of them. In fact, his decision was really fast, I think 2 days (not sure specifically). The thing is these people just want you to convince them. You don't need any big docs from your sponsor to prove 500+ Euro that u need.. It's my take and I stand to be corrected. |

larrygal: Funny thing is I actually don't know how much stipend I'ld get yet, but I have been rest assured by the uni that mobility grant awaits me. I am not bothered cuz my sponsor already sent 2.6 (and necessary docs) to me and I even still have some cash in the acc. My acc dey run normal. So, I no even wan disclose to migri sey I get any grant (I see no reason to). Na double degree programme wey 5 out of 25 newly admitted students for the program qualify for, and I dey one of them. So, 5 of us will study in Uni Turku, Finland and Uni Regensburg, Germany, concurrently (NOT Exchange Programme!), and then get 2 different certs from both unis. So, that's why we are getting the mobility grant to mobilize btw the 2 unis, when necessary. At the end, I should have had 3 Master's degrees, as I'm currently rounding off one in UI. Make God make am work. 2 Likes |
